As I am writing a prompt fill in my own native tongue, it occurs to me that we have never explicitly stated this before, since it felt implied. But for the people who are reassured by being told clear parameter:

Writer's Month is not just an inclusive event in regards to writing forms, the inclusion of all themes you want to write about - no ship shaming or kink shaming - it is also an inclusive event for you to write in whatever language you are comfortable.

If you want to write for the prompts in a language that isn't English, you are free to translate them into said language. The event is not limited by the English language, it is only limited by your creativity.

Interpret our prompts however you want, in whatever medium you want and in whatever language you want.

Writers' Pride Month 2025 (the Hal and Jack edition) masterpost!

Here we go! I got my blackout fairly early on, and have proceeded to write the rest of the prompts as well, though I'm still posting those, and something very special is coming as soon as it's ready. I'll update this post with links to the remaining fics as I post them.

The bingo prompts:

Fresh Start: Making a fresh start has never been something Jack has thought about, or at least, not consciously.

Best Friend: Jack’s always been Hal's best friend - well, maybe not right from the beginning, but looking back on it, it didn’t take long.

Sense Memory: (prompt 'history') Jack has a flashback at Ivana's karaoke night.

Ones and Zeroes: (prompt 'safe') It took longer than it should have done for Jack to realise that he was safe with Hal. But he'd never actually been safe before, so maybe it's not all that surprising.

Stand Out, Settle In, Belong: (prompt '(your) flag') Jack is up early, the morning of Pride.

Almost Like A Garden: (prompt 'green/nature') Jack gets into balcony gardening, with the enthusiastic assistance of his adopted grandmas.

Pieces Falling Into Place: (prompt '(found) family') Jack never expected to have a family. Took him a while to recognise the one he'd found.

A Life Like This: (prompt 'indigo/serenity') Jack takes a moment, on the evening of Pride.

Looks Like A Lot Of Things: (prompt 'love') Jack figures something out.

Unbreakable: (prompts 'violet/spirit' and 'soulmates') Hal has never known anyone even half as strong as Jack.

Magical: (prompts 'turquoise/magic', 'mentor', 'duality') Natalie thinks Ivana is magical. Hal is inclined to agree.

Complicated: (prompts 'pink/sex' and 'temptation') Jack has always had a complicated relationship with sex, for obvious reasons. But, with Hal - maybe it's not very complicated at all.

Self-Made: (prompts 'red/life', 'old', 'identity' and 'pride') Jack wasn't expecting to get old. But he's maybe possibly had a slightly significant birthday, and although his birthdate is kind of made-up, he's finding himself beginning to reconsider anyway.

We Take Care Of Our Own: (prompts 'gay club', 'community' and 'fight') Jack always knows when a situation is going to go south long before it actually does.

Escape Route: (prompts 'crisis', 'passion', 'truth') Hal had intended to take Jack with him, when he got off the streets, but it didn't work out that way.

Healed Up Okay: (prompt 'orange/healing') Hal and Jack always had injuries out on the streets, little things, mostly. Until Hal had his accident, and the connection between them broke.

Non-Negotiable: (prompts 'coming out', 'change') Hal and Jack make a statement, with Andy's enthusiastic assistance.

The Ones Who Mind Don't Matter: (prompts 'yellow/sunlight', 'representation', 'acceptance', 'rainbow') Natalie very much approves of her dad and papa making that statement of theirs.

@writersmonth thank you so much for organising the event, as always! I have had so much fun digging into a few hidden corners of this great sprawling original story, and developing a few things that hadn't quite been forthcoming before - and in the process have gained a new reader from among my fandom regulars, which has been an enormous delight!

So far, Writers' Month itself is shaping up to also be mostly, if not entirely, Two of a Kind-based, and I am so excited! I have loved these disastrous boys so much for so long (it'll be nineteen years later in the year, holy crap Batman) and I am so enjoying extending the story and the 'verse and the characters and basically writing fic of my own work!
