everything in race to the edge makes about 29383 times more sense when you remember they're like the same age as people in their first year of college. its like yeah they're competent enough to build an entire military base/dragon sanctuary/research station and keep it running efficiently while also fighting increasingly difficult and smart enemies but also god forbid any of them do anything the easy way or use good interpersonal communication skills. peak college student behavior

Berk: this is hiccup, we found him in the trash and he tried to fistfight a dragon the size of a mountain when he was 15 with his dragon best friend (and won). His best friend who's also the beast of lightning and death itself the nightfury! Occasionally he disappears for a couple weeks and comes back with a new dragon friend, the lastest was a skrill, isn't that so nice.

Nobody on berk is in anyway normal, its only natural their heir is a dragon lady in the making (they don't know about the other dragon lady yet).

I really need to draw more people holding hiccuo by the back of the tunic like hes a feral kitten.

What if Hiccup didn't train the others to fly dragons so after defeating the Red Death Berk just accepts the fact Hiccup is there feral dragon boy. And he just keeps adopting/taking care of dragons then when Viggo, Riker, and Daguar roll around theu just see a bunch of rare dangerous dragons like the Whispering Death, and Skrill just daring them to try and hurt there babies witch are Hiccup and Toothless and on top of that he has a protective mother, a protective father, and a protective uncle figure.

To be honest I would love to see a fic were Hiccup stays on Berk and is the only rider.

A small headcannon i have in my hero academia (basically the only headcannon I have) is that Mitsuki Bakugou grew up quirkless because everyone thought her as a false positive. Like I know in the mha world there's no doubt tests that would test basically everything about a child to check for quirks as long as they have a quirked body. But I like thinking that she got to like her twenties without realizing she had a quirk.

And obviously getting bullied and developing a bitter and jadded attitude, exploding at everything around her. Before she meets Inko. A shy girl who can barely raise her voice about a whisper. But she stands up to bullies for Mitsuki. (Their first meeting being Inko threatening to use her quirk on a person's eyes if they don't leave Mitsuki alone.) And the two become friends, with Inko seeing past the walls Mitsuki had built up by being bullied.

When stores would kick Mitsuki out due to being quirkless, Inko simply found other stores they could both go to, the ones that support quirkless people. She was the first one Mitsuki called after being arrested one day, having never actually committed a crime, just loosing her temper after being kicked out of a store because they recognized her as quirkless. And Inko immediately bailed her out of jail and helped her find a lawyer to defend her in court. Eventually Inko decides to become a lawyer, because she sees the injustice that Mitsuki faces day to day, and she wants to try her best to stop that. Especially as lawyer after lawyer refuse to defend Mitsuki due to her quirk status. When Mitsuki is denied all her applications to higher education, all of the spots going to quirked applicants, even if they got worse test scores then her, Inko helped Mitsuki find a job with her other friend Masaru as a model. When Mitsuki went to the doctor, as she realized that her sweat was unusual, Inko went with her. The last time she had gone being when she was diagnosed as a false positive and feeling anxious.

Mitsuki absolutely adoring Inko, having been the first person who never cared she was quirkless and was her only place of safety in the world.

Mitsuki being absolutely devastated when she hears the news that Izuku was quirkless. Knowing first hand what he will face in his life. But also feeling hopeful for Katsuki and Izuku. Beleiving that Katsuki would be Izuku's Inko. Protecting Izuku, standing up for Izuku, defending people like Izuku and Mitsuki as a hero.

Being absolutely horrified and disgusted when she realizes how wrong she was.

One thing I love to think about whenever I create a pokemon oc who battles, is their battling style. I just think having a battling style can tell so much about the character. Are they straightforward and honest? Maybe they might go for a hit it until it stops moving approach. Are they flashy and clever? Maybe they have a style where they turn the opponents attacks against them in showy ways. Are they calculated? Maybe they hesitate a lot, or dodge a lot until they get an understanding of the opponent and calculate how to win, and then attack strategically. New to battling? Maybe their style is a hodpodge of different styles from your elite four and champion battles that they've watched before, or from older family members who battle.

I just think it adds so much character in a subtle way. And I like it bc i have a lot of experience in martial arts, mostly in Taekwon-Do, but I've done a lot of others. And my family does a bunch of other martial arts. And it's so fun seeing how my family all has different fighting styles. My sister is more of a boxer. While I use more kicks due to Taekwon-Do. And my dad tries to get us to the ground as quickly as possible because he does jiu-jitsu. I think adding that bit of world building we see in the real world into pokemon is a really good charactization choice. And I have a whole thesis about how ash and the regional battling styles change over the anime and how it shows Ash's general arc.

Fuck good team composition tell me what your pokemon team would look like constructed entirely of the aces of your favorite characters. I'll go first: alolan raichu, togekiss, hydrapple, haxorous, bibarel, and simisage.

I would've done grimmel in httyd 3 a lot differently then what actually ended up happening.

For one, I wouldn't have given him his own movie, instead I would've put him in race to the edge.

I would've introduced him as an ally to viggo, being called on to help viggo with a particular problem he's been having. Then I would've had the gang keep being led into traps that they just can't understand why it's happening. Hiccup is completely lost and has no clue why he's suddenly on the backfoot with Viggo. And I wouldn't reveal grimmels backstory until a few episodes in. Instead I would've dropped hints. Like him saying how much he loves the hunt, how its so rare to find good prey these days, and have him wear nightfury scales.

Eventually grimmel and hiccup have a show off, probably with grimmel taking hiccup down and he and toothless have to rush around the island trying to hide when grimmel knows how to hunt nightfuries. Where he then reveals his backstory in a dramatic fashion. And then they take him down in someway.

Idk, I just think that would've been better then what they did in httyd 3, as a lead up to viggo. That way it would've made grimmel look smarter, and it meant there wouldn't have been a villian after drago.

If hiccup ever did that in httyd 1- race to the edge he would've gotten smacked upside the head by toothless' tail real quick.

I HATE HATE HATE how Hiccup starts treating Toothless like an actual dog in HTTYD3 out of NO WHERE! Like he has never treated him like that.

Well, finally sitting down to write the next chapter of ah fuck. Here we go again. And this chapter lian is introduced. Before writing this chapter i was kinda eh on lian. I barely remembered him.

After i wrote this chapter I've decided i love him, he's so cute, he deserves the world, and he and Akari are siblings.

Ah, what getting into a characters head can do to you.

Httyd au, where the last lens for the dragon eye is found in the stuffed animal valka made that hiccup gets in riders of berk. How awesome of a scene could it be where someone sets something down in hiccups room, probably astrid while they look over hiccups map to try and figure out where the last dragon eye is, so they can keep it from Viggo. And suddenly it sets off a rube Goldberg machine in hiccups room before the stuffed animals falls and it's neck catches on like a spear. And the lens rolls out of the stuffed animal.

Leaving so many questions about hiccups mother and what that could mean and set up the second movie so perfectly where hiccup realizes how similar he and his mother are. And I have no clue how she would get the lens or know what it was, but i still think it could've been so cool.
