How does one find places to submit writing to?
n.r.
Sometimes I literally just Google "literary magazine poetry submissions June [or whatever month] 2025" and a lot of new opportunities will open up in the search results!
I also LOVE using NewPages for this! They have a calls for submissions page that you can filter by genre, deadline, fee, etc, and they update it frequently. Here are a couple more below too.

Could it be? My name? Beneath "Fiction" instead of "Poetry?" Yes! I'm super excited to share that I have a flash fiction piece published in the newest issue of Twin Bird Review!
I hadn't written a short story since high school - 12 years ago! I'm so grateful to this journal for taking a chance on this little piece!

For the first time in a long time (maybe ever), I'm experiencing online sexual harassment firsthand.
I too am tired.
I'm sorry you go through this even more frequently. Sending all the love and support 💖
n.r.
I'm so sorry, n.r. It's horrible and no one ever deserves to go through that. I wish you weren't experiencing that, and that it wasn't being done to you.
Please let me know if there is anything I can do to support you with this!
I'm also sorry for everything you mentioned in your last message - I empathize and resonate with what you said about not being sure which side of him is real. It's so disorienting and confusing. You deserve peace and safety and certainty - certainty that you really know someone, and certainty that they will treat you well.
Sending a bunch of love right back atcha <3

Excuse the dim coffee shop lighting (or, let's be real, it's really just my phone camera), but, I have a new poetry chapbook out from akinoga press!
"A Violet Stretch of Sky is inspired by poet Meggie Royer’s fascination with folklore, mythology, and the experience of processing traumatic memories. In this collection, Royer imagines beloved artistic and literary figures such as Virginia Woolf and van Gogh in conversation with women of myth, examines the complex nature of relationships marred by love and violence, and attempts to reconcile her teenage self with her adult self."

My god...I just found out that someone who followed me here on Tumblr for 10 years and was tremendously, tremendously kind and supportive to me passed away unexpectedly. I am shocked and don't know what to say.
Reading back through our many Tumblr messages over the past 10 years, I am just blown away by his generosity. He sent me so many deeply empathetic messages when I was in the middle of agonizing trauma from sexual violence. He also financially supported me when I was struggling during college, and he contributed financially to my literary journal Persephone's Daughters as it was getting off the ground.
Most recently, within the past two years he encouraged me to submit to the new literary journal he had started, and I ended up having a poem published there with several nominations for Best of the Net and the Pushcart Prize for it.
I'm speechless and heartbroken. I can only hope he knew how good of a person he was and how immensely, immensely grateful I was and am for him. He was an astoundingly good human being.
Rest in peace, Vince. I have no words.

I'm so thrilled to share the cover of the first akinoga press book for 2025, my new chapbook A Violet Stretch of Sky! Thank you so much to this wonderful press for the care with which they handled this collection.
Preorders are now available at a discount. :) A Violet Stretch of Sky will officially be released on Saturday, May 31st.
