When We Are Loved - Ponyboy Curtis x Reader Chapter 5: You Have to Choose and You Gotta Choose Now.
Tumblr media
“So what did you have planned this weekend?” You looked over at Ponyboy who was changing back into his clothes from yesterday. You would much rather stay here than go to school, you didn’t really want to deal with the real world right now. Plus, the view of Ponyboy changing was much more interesting than the view of Mrs. Waltz spewing about her ex-husband.
After the night spent together you were more confused than ever. Nothing had happened between the two of you, except the kiss of course, but you couldn’t ignore the fact that lying wrapped up in him all night was so much more thrilling than any night you’ve spent with Justin. Everything was too much for you. You felt clouded by Ponyboy. Nothing made sense anymore. You didn’t just kiss and spend the night with some greaser kid. Jesus if your mother found out she would probably send you to a mental hospital.
“I have to go to this meeting with my brothers. We have to every few months. Make sure were behaving and all.” He shrugged on his flannel over his arms. God, you loved his arms.
“Why? If you don’t mind me askin I mean.” You quickly ran a brush through your hair thankful that Ponyboy didn’t comment on how indecent you looked in the mornings. Justin always made sure you knew how bad you looked in the morning, he never did it to make you feel bad, that’s just how it was. You felt so nervous about asking Ponyboy these things now and you didn’t know why. You hoped he would tell you though, you found yourself intrigued by everything that was him.
He walked over to the side of the bed where you were standing and sat down making the mattress dip underneath his weight. “Well,” he reached up and grabbed your waist pulling you onto his lap causing you to flush at the closeness. “My big brother Darry takes care of me and Sodapop and in order for him to be able to do that, the states gotta check up on us to make sure we're behaving. If not they’ll make us go to some boys home.”
You stared down at Pony, your chest hurting at the idea of that kind of life for him but you couldn’t help but feel grateful he let you in the way he did. “What about your parents?”
“They died a while back. Accident.” He shrugged.
You shook your head frowning, “I’m so sorry.”.
“It’s okay hun.” He smirked up at you. “It was a long time ago.” You looked down, playing with his fingers on your hip.
“No, it’s not.” You shook your head frowning. “I mean I sit here and complain all day long about all the things I have. You probably think I'm the worlds biggest bitch.” He laughed at your statement squeezing your hips in the process sending a tingling sensation through your body. It still amazed you the effect he had on you.
“It is what it is. Our lives are just different. They're just crappy in their own ways.” He chuckled. You smiled down at the boy. You never imagined that you would find someone that would not only listen to how you really felt but actually accepted and understood it. “Come on let's get going.” He squeezed your hips lightly.
You both made your way through the school doors, heading straight to Mr. Spite’s class. “Everyone take a seat please.” Mr. Spite stood from his desk. Pony walked towards the back of the classroom and now you wished you could have sat together so you could be next to him. You’d much rather sit with him than these other kids.
“We will be doing a few readings to make sure everyone understands what is going on. I know you only have one copy between the two of you so I’ll pass a few extras around but make sure they are all returned to me please.” He held up a copy of the book.
A few books were passed around, one being laid on your desk. “Y/N you are going to start.” you snapped your head up at the mention of your name. Of course. You took a deep breath and stood up. “Act 1 scene 1, page 10.” He instructed. You nodded and opened the book to the page instructed. “Whenever you are ready.”
“Love is a smoke raised with the fume of sighs; Being purged, a fire sparkling in lovers’ eyes; Being vexed, a sea nourished with loving tears. What is it else? A madness most discreet, A choking gall, and a preserving sweet.” You breathed and looked up at Mr. Spite hoping you were finished.
“And now tell us that same thing in your own words.” Mr. Spite leaned on his desk.
You nodded and took another breath. “Here’s what love is: a smoke made out of lovers’ sighs. When the smoke clears, love is a fire burning in your lover’s eyes. If you frustrate love, you get an ocean made out of lovers’ tears. What else is love? It’s a wise form of madness. It’s a sweet lozenge that you choke on.”
Mr. Spite nodded after you finished, accepting your answer. You breathed and took a seat thankful the attention was off of you. “Okay, Jason next scene.”
You drowned out the words and turned to look at Ponyboy to catch him already staring at you. He had this look on his face that you couldn’t quite place. You just hoped he didn’t think you were stupid by your explanation. You knew you were dense when it came to this kind of stuff and it made you feel so insecure since Pony wasn’t.
You stared at Pony, watching him stare back at you. You didn’t know what you were doing, but you wanted to figure it out and quick. You turned away and stared down at your desk draining out the rest of the class, stuck in your own head as always.
Eventually, the bell rang reliving you of your own self. You grabbed the book off of your desk and dropped it in a bin on Mr.Spite’s desk. “Hey.” Pony walked over to you. You watched as the other kids gave you a strange look on your way out. You honestly forgot in the last day that you talking with Pony was not a normal thing. Has it really only been a day since this all has started?
“Hey” you gave him a soft smile. You needed to get your head straight.
“You did really good. The reading I mean.” He smiled down at you. God, you loved his smile.
“Thank you.” You gave him a soft smile.
“Is everything okay?” he walked with you out into the hall.
“Yeah, I’m just thinking about some stuff.” You blinked.
“Oh.” his expression changed instantly. Here you were disappointing him again. Would you ever be able to not disappoint him?
“Do you want to meet today after school? We can go to that park again.” You turned to him.
“I thought you had something come up?” He adjusted the strap of his bookbag on his shoulder.
“I did. But I’ll cancel.” He nodded and gave you a smile before turning and making his way down the hall.
You closed your eyes and took a breath before making your way to your locker. You knew Justin was gonna be annoyed with you canceling but you had to figure out what you were going to do about this Ponyboy thing. “Hey, where were you this morning? You’re always at your locker before class.” Lisa made her way over to your locker.
“Slept in.” You shrugged opening up your locker. “Have you seen Justin?”
“Oh yeah him and James are skipping today because they drank too much last night. I think they are still out on the bleachers.” You nodded and thanked her before shutting your locker and making your way to the football field.
“Hey baby.” Justin looked up at you from his seat on the metal stands. James was towards the top asleep under the shade of the trees.
“You guys came to school to skip school?” You chuckled as you walked over to him.
“Couldn’t stay home,” he shrugged “what are you up to?”
“I have to cancel for tonight. My project got moved up and I’m meeting in the library to get as much done as I can.”
Justin stared up at you for a moment. “Okay. We can do dinner this weekend I guess.” You knew he could tell something was up but you couldn’t explain anything to him. You couldn’t even figure it out for yourself.
“Thank you.” You smiled at him. “We will. I promise.” He nodded in response.
“Okay well, I’ll call you when I get home tonight.” You nodded as he kissed you on the forehead. You stood up and waved him goodbye before making your way back to school to suffer through the rest of your classes.
“You ready?” Pony walked over to your locker where you were transferring some books.
“Yeah.” You smiled at him. The both of you made your way out of the school ignoring the glances you were receiving. “Are you nervous for your meeting thing?” You looked up at Pony as you both walked down the gravel road.
“No not really” he shrugged digging his hands into his pockets. No one even noticed he was wearing the same outfit as yesterday. “we’ve done it a bunch before. They just ask about my grades and about how much Soda works a week.”
“Why does that matter?” You both made your way through the gate connected to the chain linked fence.
“Since Soda dropped out of school we had to really prove that it wasn’t because Darry was raisin us wrong. So he works a certain amount of hours to show that we aren’t just foolin around.” We made out way over to our usual bench. “Why don’t we go sit under a tree, it’s too hot to be in the sun.” He nodded at a large tree a few yards away. You nodded in agreement and made your way over there.
“Why’d he drop out in the first place?” You sat on the grass with Pony.
“Says he isn’t smart enough. But I don’t believe it. He's a smart guy, him and Steve can take apart a car and put it back together perfectly. He just aint school smart is all. Plus the money sure does help.”
You nodded in understanding. “it’s weird. Id never have to worry about that stuff you know, not havin enough money. But i’d do just about anything to get rid of it.”
“Why do you think it’s the money that’s making everything so bad?” he looked over at you, the small breeze running in his hair.
“Money changes people.” You shook your head “Everyone I know feels like they have this image to keep. Like I don’t even know my best friends birthday, and I couldn’t remember the last time I ever really talked to my mom. Even dating Justin. It’s just kinda somethin that fits, its what looks good. It doesn’t matter how I feel, just how I look.”
“Yeah, I could see how that would bug you.” He nodded “We struggle and we got our issues, but I don’t know what I’d do without those boys. I mean I think the only reason we make it through everything we do is because we got each other you know?” You nodded not sure what to say. The more Ponyboy talked about his friends, the more you wished you had it. For so long you’ve been walking through life, knowing you were missing something but just not quite sure what. But now, you know what and you’ve never wanted something so bad. “Come on let’s keep reading.” He smiled at you.
“My only love sprung from my only hate, too early seen unknown, and known too late! Prodigious birth of love is it to me that I must love a loathed enemy.” Ponyboy reads. You stare up at him, your head in his lap and the sun has already begun to set. The breeze blew lightly and you were completely captivated in his words. “I think that’s good for today.” Pony sat the book down next to you and began to run his fingers through your hair.
“I don’t want to go home yet.” You sighed closing your eyes.
“I don’t either if I’m being truthful.”
You let out a long sigh, enjoying the feeling of Ponyboy playing with your hair. “Why does life have to be so complicated?”
“I don’t really think it is.” You opened your eyes to look at the boy. “You do what makes you happy, take care of yourself and the people you care about. I think people just tend to complicate things.” He shrugged.
“But what if you can't take care of the people you care about and do what makes you happy at the same time. What do you choose?” you stared up at him.
“Well,” he sighed looking up at the sky “at the end of the day, you gotta live with your life, not them.”
You sat in silence for a few minutes thinking about his words. You knew no matter what you did, someone would get hurt. You just didn’t know if you wanted it to be you who got hurt in the end. “Come on, let's go.” Pony smiled down at you.
You nodded and stood up making your way out of the park. Pony took his hand in yours during the walk and you couldn’t help the butterflies you got because of it.
“I’ll see ya on Monday I guess.” Pony turned to you when you got to the stop sign where you both would separate to get to your sides of the town.
“I’ll see ya Monday.” You smiled up at the boy. You both turned and made your way home. The entire walk was spent with your mind racing. A week ago you would have begged to have something important enough to think about but now you wished for a moment of silence in your own head. You thought about how you have completely blown off everything you were supposed to be doing. All of these events that completely ran your life before didn’t even occupy a minute of your time anymore.
You eventually made your way into your home, your mom immediately calling your name as soon as you stepped into the door. You sighed and made your way into the living room to see your mom and Justin sitting there. “Hey, What’s goin on?”
“Justin stopped by to see you. Isn't that nice?” Your mom smiled sipping on her wine glass.
“That’s real nice.” You nodded looking at Justin. He gave your mom a tight smile.
“Well, I'm gonna go off to bed. Honey, remember you have to pick up your dress for the fundraiser this Sunday okay?” she stood from the couch.
“Yeah, I will. Goodnight mom.” You smiled as she made her way up the stairs. “So how was your day?”
“Where were you y/n?” Justin stared at you his expression completely blank.
You scrunched your forehead at the boy, “What do you mean?”
“Today. Where were you?” He blinked.
“I was at the library doing my-“
“Cut the shit.” He cut you off his tone startling you. Justin never got angry with you and vice versa. “I went to the library today to check up on you and you weren’t there.” You froze feeling completely nauseous. “When I asked the librarian she said you hadn’t been in all day.”
“Justin listen.” You sighed.
“No, I’m not done.” He laughed bitterly “You see cause then I asked her what time you left yesterday so she pulled up the sign in sheet. And you haven’t even been in once this semester.” He stood up and ran his hands over his face. “So I have been thinking all day long why you felt the need to lie about where you were with another guy.”
“Justin please just listen.” You walked over to him.
“Still not done.” He held up a finger. “You see, the only reason I could think of for you lying about where you were with him is that you didn’t want me to find you. Which the only reason for that is that you are cheating on me with this guy.” You felt all of the air rush out of you, tears began to pool in your eyes. “So can you give me another reason that isn’t that you're cheating on me y/n?” He finally looked at you, the hurt completely evident on his face.
“Justin I am so sorry.” You gasped out, the tears now spilling down your face.
“Yeah, that’s what I figured.” He nodded surprisingly calm. “So when waiting for you to come back, I came up with a few options and I'm just gonna let you choose.” He nodded.
“Okay.” You whispered taking a deep breath. You wished he would have just yelled, anything other than this calm.
“One.” He sat on the arm of the couch and looked at you “I could kill him. And I mean actually kill him.” He nodded. “Two. I could have someone else kill him.” You sobbed slightly. “Three. We could end this.” he gestured between the two of you “Or Four. We could pretend like none of this ever happened and you never and I mean never speak to him again. Me and you will go talk to Mr. Spite, say your parents aren’t comfortable with you two working together and get you a new partner.” You sucked in a sharp breath. You knew you'd have to make a choice but you weren’t planning on doing it so soon. “But there's still a problem with all of these.”
“What's that?” your voice cracked.
“None of these are going to make you love me again.” He looked up at you, his words making you let out a sob. “But I'm willing to try to fix this. But only if you are.”
You stared at Justin, your heart completely broken. You didn’t know what to choose. If you chose Pony you would lose not only Justin but everything, Lisa, your parents. But if you chose Justin, you’d lose Pony, and that thought scared you more than anything. “You have to choose. And you gotta choose now.” Justin stared at you.
“Okay.” You sobbed.
“I know you think he might like you y/n.” he stood up and walked over to you. “But he doesn’t. He’s just some greaser kid y/n. You cant throw everything away on this kid.” He shook his head. “Your life, your future. Us.”
You nodded your head as he grabbed your arms to uncross them and intertwine your hands. They were safe and comfortable, but they were nothing like Ponyboy’s. “You're right. I’m sorry.”
He nodded his head. “You know you can't see him again right?” you nodded your head the tears coming down your face. “I'm serious. No more. Tell him in class Monday you're not talking to him anymore and that’s it.”
“Okay.” You hiccupped and looked up at him.
“I love you y/n.” he kissed you on the forehead. You nodded as he turned to walk out the door.

Note
Are you quitting the rest of your series? ):
No, I'm not. I've been adjusting to my new very heavy workload so I haven't had much time to write clearly. Considering that I was posting 3-7+ chapters/ request/ imagines a night obviously now it's much less. I want to be getting back into posting at least 2-3 a week, still not as much as I used to be but much more than now. When I'm able to write I write based on what I'm feeling if I got some inspiration or something. I feel like my writing has noticeably gotten worse since I'm not doing it as often which is also playing a role in me not posting.

I’m Always Gonna Be Here - Sodapop x Reader Imagine
Tumblr media
“Hey guys.” You smiled walking into the DX. Steve and Two-Bit were leaning against the counter sipping on some Coke bottles. Steve’s jeans were covered in oil and dirt and Two-Bit looked like he had just gotten his nose broken, but shockingly enough this view didn’t shock you at all.
“Hey ya y/n. What are you doin here?” Steve smiled at you as you made your way over to the boys.
“I came to talk to you actually.” You took a soda bottle from Two-Bit “Do you know what’s goin on with Soda?” You leaned against the counter, mimicking the boys. You and Soda had only been dating for a few months but this is the first time anything like this has happened. He’s dodged your calls, made excuses not to come to the door, hasn't even been to work and you didn't want to admit how bad it actually made you felt. You knew it was a short amount of time to be feeling what you were feeling for Soda, but you couldn't help it.
“That’s somethin you and Soda should talk about y/n.” Two-Bit gave you a soft smile. The energy shifted in the room and from the way the boys were acting, it was clear they knew something you didn’t.
“So there is somethin goin on?” they confirmed your suspicions. “Did i do somethin?” you scrunched your forehead trying to recall if anything had happened between the two of you that would cause him to act this way.
“No y/n its not like that.” Steve shook his head setting his drink down. “You just need to talk to Soda.”
“No” you shook your head feeling slightly sick at the thought of loosing Soda, “He doesn't wanna talk to me and clearly everyone else knows whats goin on but me. Is he gonna break up with me or somethin?”
“Look,” Steve ran his hands through his jet black hair “you and Soda haven’t been together very long okay? And theres just somethings you don’t know about him yet, thats all. We’ve known him a long time y/n. This ain’t nothin new.”
“So he’s done this before?”
“Sodas an amazing guy and he’s the most fun you’ll ever be around,” Two-Bit shrugs “But theres just times he gets bad. All nervous and stuff. A person can only be so normal with the life he’s got.” Steve shook his head in agreement.
“You think i should just give him space then?”
“Thats what we usually do, but he don’t like us like he likes you.” Two-Bit grinned “I couldn't see the harm in payin him a visit.” You nodded and thanked the guys before turning and making your way to the Curtis’ house. You couldn't help but feel slightly guilty for not knowing this about Soda, you just always assumed his personality was always the happy Soda you've come to love since that was the only personality he ever showed you.
You spent the entire walk stirring up something to say. You weren't sure if he’d even let you in let alone talk to you but you had to try. You knew Soda and this wasn't him and you weren't gonna sit back and not do anything. You knocked on the wooden door of the Curtis’ home until Darry’s face came into view.
“Hey Y/N, look Soda isn't feelin too hot right now. Maybe come back another time.” he gave you a sad smile.
“Two-Bit and Steve told me everything. Can i just talk to him, i swear i’ll leave after.” He stared at you before nodding slightly and opening the door enough for you to make your way through and to Soda’s room.
“Hey Pony.” you whispered as you knocked on the door. Soda’s younger brother looked up from his book at you. He was slumped over a lounge chair set up right next to the bed. It was pretty obvious they've gone through this before.
“Oh hey, Sodas sleepin right now.” he nodded at your boyfriend tucked under a giant blanket on the bed. His lips were parted and there were beads of sweat on his forehead from the April sun.
“Can i just get a minute with him?” You whispered. Pony nodded and made his way out of the room to give you both some privacy. You made your way through the cluttered bedroom and sat next to Soda’s sleeping body making the mattress dip, causing Soda to stir and eventually open his eyes.
“Y/N?” He squinted up at you, his voice raspy from sleep.
“Hey you.” You whispered brushing his damp hair from his forehead “You okay?”
He stared up at you for a moment and you could see what the boys were talking about. His eyes didn't shine like normal, instead he just looked so exhausted. “Yeah im okay. Just not feelin too hot.”
You nodded and continued to play with his hair, something you've learned that he enjoys a lot. “I know you're not really yourself right now.” you whispered, your statement making Sodas expression change “And thats okay. You don’t have to be. But just know that i’m here, I’m always gonna be here. When you're yourself and when you're not.”
You watched Soda’s eyes glass over with tears at your words. “I don’t know why this happens to me.” he whispered. “I just feel so tired.” he whispered, his voice cracking.
You nodded your head letting him know you understood. “I know. So just rest then okay? It’s okay.” you gave him a small smile.
Soda slid his body towards the wall more and held the comforter up as an invitation to you which you gladly accepted. You pulled the blanked up and pulled Soda into your arms cradling him in your embrace, just laying there for what felt like hours running your hands through his hair.

When We Are Loved - Ponyboy Curtis x Reader Chapter 4: Tell Me to Stay
Tumblr media
You paced your room in anticipation for Ponyboy’s arrival. This was a stupid idea, bring Ponyboy- a greaser- to your home. You both knew he shouldn’t be walking around your side of town this late at night by himself, it was like he was asking to get jumped. Your stomach twisted giving you a queasy feeling you blamed on the irresponsibility of having a greaser at your house. What if your neighbor Mrs. Charlson saw him come in and out of your house? She would surely tell your mom during their bridge game.
Your thoughts were interrupted by a knocking at your door. You swallowed your doubts and made your way towards the front door to see the dark-haired boy standing on the other side.
“Hey.” You smiled at him. He was wearing these old blue jeans just like every other time you’ve seen him and a flannel to match. His appearance didn’t change much from day to day, same greasy hair, same clothes, the same lopsided smirk that he was wearing now.
“Hey. So why couldn’t you meet tomorrow?” He stepped inside your house, his old backpack hung over his shoulder.
“Just something I have to do with my parents.” You shrugged leading him down the hallway. You didn’t want Ponyboy to know you canceled on him for Justin, you felt like you were always disappointing him.
“You have a real nice home.” He nodded observing the various frames and paintings on the wall. “I couldn’t imagine livin in a place like this.” He shook his head slightly, you noticed he wore his famous sly smirk when he looked over at you.
“Yeah. I guess so.” You stopped walking as he stared up at a painting hanging on the wall.
“You guess so?” he looked over to you but you didn’t look away from the painting. You felt vulnerable just talking to Ponyboy and when you looked him in the eyes, the vulnerability intensified by a million.
“Well,” you blinked, not taking your eyes off the complicated swirls of the painted river, “I guess it doesn’t matter how pretty the house is when the people in it aren’t.”
What felt like hours of silence followed your statement. You’ve never said anything like that out loud before. You had your thoughts and you had your beliefs that didn’t exactly align with those around you, but you never admitted them to anyone else before. To think you felt vulnerable before is nothing compared to now.
“I guess you always think about the things you don’t have as a want” he finally spoke up “so you don’t really consider the bad parts of them.” You looked over at Pony, finally allowing him to catch your gaze. You stared up at him for a moment, so grateful he didn’t make you wrong for how you felt.
You knew it was silly to complain about having too much money and especially to someone like Ponyboy who never seemed to have enough, but you did and he let you.
“Come on” you gave him a small smile “let's get started.” You nodded towards the staircase and led the way towards your bedroom. You walked down the hall to your bedroom, Ponyboy still taking in his surroundings as you made your way. “Do you think we should work on some of the actual assignments? Take a break from the reading?” You sat down on your bed and watched as Pony placed his bag down on the floor.
“Yeah, we can do that.” He nodded standing by your bed clearly uncomfortable.
“Pony you can sit on the bed it’s okay.” You giggled at the red creeping up his skin. He chuckled and shook his head sitting down at the other end of the bed and kicking off his converse. You giggled and reached over to grab your bag off of the ground.
“You really don’t like it here, do you?” you snapped your head up, taken aback from his question.
“What do you mean?” You blinked. You knew exactly what he had meant.
“I mean normally Socs are I don’t know,” he shook his head slowly, collecting his thoughts. “they're very proud of being a Soc. But you, you don’t seem to be. You're kinda like a greaser in that way.”
You stared up at him, leaning on your arm to sit up slightly more. “What do you mean, I’m like a greaser in that way?”
“Greasers usually don’t wanna be greasers y/n. It’s not exactly the one you'd choose if you had a choice.” He chuckled.
“I would.” You interrupted his chuckles, your statement sobering him up. “If I could choose somethin different, I would.” You were completely serious and he knew it too.
“You really don’t like it that much?” he furrowed his eyebrows, leaning down onto his arm.
“Money doesn’t mean much when you have no one to enjoy it with.” You gave him a sad smile.
“So you’d rather be a low-life greaser?” he chuckled making you smile.
“Just the way you talk about each other,” you smiled shaking your head slightly “how close you are with each other. I’ve never even had one person I was that close with, let alone six.”
“Yeah,” he nodded “we’re close. But it ain't always that way.”
“What do you mean?”
“Stress does a lot to people. And we all got plenty of it.” He shook his head. You nodded your head in understanding. “I’m sorry if I'm bummin you out.” He chuckled making your smile.
“You're not.” You shook your head smiling up at the dark-haired boy “I like that I can talk like this with you. I don’t have that with anyone else.”
“Well, I'm glad you have that with me.” He smiled down at you making your breath hitch in your throat. You stared up at him, not sure when he had all of a sudden had this kind of effect on you. You haven’t even known this kid for more than a week, heck you didn’t even know his name before this assignment and now here you are telling him things you’ve never told anyone.
“I’m glad too.” You gave him a soft smile but the tension in the air made it clear how serious you both were. Ponyboy and you never broke eye contact, laying on the bed frozen. You couldn’t help but notice his eyes. They were these beautiful gray eyes but with green mixed in. You had never seen anything like it before, they made your y/e/c eyes look boring.
“What are you thinkin about?” he whispered, you couldn’t help but notice how much distance had closed between the two of you. When did that happen?
“You have the most beautiful gray eyes.” You whispered back, not wanting to break the intensity of the movement. He smiled down at you, your statement clearing weighing more than you’d thought. Less than an hour ago you did whatever you could to avoid making eye contact with him and now you couldn’t figure out why in the world you would try so hard to avoid them. They were so captivating that when he moved them down your face, you took notice. Before you could think twice all of the air was sucked out of the room when Ponyboy connected your lips.
You felt as Pony’s lips danced with yours. You didn’t know what you were doing. You moved on automatic but not at the same time- for the first time you didn’t have to think about the right thing to do or the wrong words to say. Everything felt so natural with Ponyboy and the way his lightly nibbled on your bottom lip made you felt more alive than you have ever felt in your entire life.
Pony moves his hand from the bed to your neck pulling you closer. Your body followed along and pressed into his, the heat radiating off of him made you dizzy. You moved your hands up to his hair, tugging at the long dark strands. You never imagined you'd want to touch greasy hair but you couldn’t get enough it. You couldn’t get enough of any of it, of any of him. Your chest heaved as he turned and in one swift movement laid your body underneath his. You could feel the tips of his fingertips lightly brush over the skin on your thigh and it felt like a thousand little lightning bolts were running through your body.
You tugged on his shirt to pull him closer completely intoxicated in Ponyboy when a loud pounding pulled you back into reality. “Oh my God.” You shot out of the bed and rushed to the mirror to clean up your hair. You could see Ponyboy in the reflection, sitting on the bed looking somewhat frustrated. You sighed and rushed down the stairs and opened up the door.
“Justin, what are you doing here?” You scrunched up your forehead. Worry set in your stomach at the thought of the situation you found yourself in. A very intoxicated Justin is standing at your front door and Ponyboy, who you just cheated on your boyfriend with, is sitting upstairs disappointed by you, again. “I wanted to see you.” He slurred. He looked clammy and sweaty, clearly way too intoxicated for his well-being. “You’ve been acting all weird lately.”
“I know. I just haven’t been feeling good. I’ll call you tomorrow okay.” You gave him a tight smile and began to close the door.
“What?” he scrunched his forehead and blocked the door with his arm “Are you trying to get rid of me that fast?”
“No” you breathed. He reeked of whiskey. “I just wanna go to bed I think I’m getting sick.”
“Okay.” He frowned down at you. “Call me in the morning okay?” you nodded and shut the door as he turned away, letting out a breath. You were grateful he didn’t push to come inside. You knew what would have happened if he had seen Ponyboy in your bed and it wouldn’t have been pretty.
You rushed upstairs into your bedroom to see Ponyboy lacing up his converse. “What are you doin?” you stepped inside the bedroom.
He stood up. “Leaving.” His voice was cold and distant and you didn’t like it in the slightest bit.
“Why?” You stepped closer to him.
“Wheres your boyfriend at y/n?” he walked over to his backpack.
“Pony what's wrong?” You laid your hand on his arm to grab his attention. “I don’t understand. I mean we just-” you trailed off.
“Yeah, we did.” He looked down at you. “And you couldn’t have ran out faster.”
“Ponyboy what did you want me to do? Just leave him standing down there?”
“No of course not, you would never make Mr. Perfect wait on anything.” He mocked.
“Why are you being so cruel?” you shook your head slowly.
“Because I don’t know what to do! I don’t know who you are!” he finally turned to you, dropping his bag on the floor.
“What do you mean you don’t know who I am? You know me better than anyone!”
“Yeah, when we're alone.” His voice calmed in a chilling way “but then we go out in public and god forbid anyone catches you talkin to the poor greaser right?” You stared up at him, hurting at how cold he was being. “That’s what I thought.” He nodded bending down to pick his bag up again.
“Pony please don’t go.” You hated the way your voice cracked.
“Give me a reason not to.” He looked down at you.
“I-“ you breathed trying to find the right words “I don’t wanna lose you.”
“That’s not enough.” He shook his head but his features were softening.
“Tell me what to do. Tell me what to say.” You could feel the burn in your throat “Please Pony.”
“I can't just tell you what to say y/n!” he threw his hands up “You can't just have everyone telling you what to say and what to do! What do you want?” He shook his head, his eyes piercing into yours.
“I can't just have what I want Pony. It’s not that easy.” You shook your head. “I can't just hurt everyone.”
“Why does anyone have to get hurt?”
“Justin? My parents?” you shook your head “This is bigger than us Ponyboy.”
“Fine then.” He shook his head before walking out your door into the hall. You sucked in a breath and turned around placing your hand over your mouth to hold in your sobs. “No, fuck this.” You turned to see Ponyboy walking towards you. He dropped his bag onto the floor and before you could say anything he grabbed your neck and connected your lips once more.
You both moved urgently, your lips and hands trying to match each other’s pace. His large hands ran and tugged through your hair, your arms wrapped around his neck in an attempt to pull him closer. You felt like everything was on fire, everything was buzzing around you and you have never felt so alive. You couldn’t fathom how a kiss could do something so amazing. How a kiss could make you finally feel alive.
“Y/N.” Ponyboy whispered against your lips when you both finally pulled away. His lips were swelling with blood and you knew yours probably looked similar. “Tell me to stay.”
You let out a breath nodding your head. You didn’t know if you wanted anything to happen with Ponyboy tonight, you didn’t even know if you wanted anything to happen with Ponyboy at all, all you knew that you wanted him to stay. “Please don’t go.” You whispered.
“Here ya go, they’ll probably be a bit big on you but it’s the smallest my dad has.” You handed Ponyboy some plaid sleep pants.
“They're great thank you.” He smiled as he took the clothes from you. “You mind if I shower here?”
“Yeah of course. My bathrooms right there, i’ll get you a towel.” You gave him a small smile.
You made your way into the bathroom and grabbed a towel from the closet. “Thank ya.” He smirked at you. You nodded and made your way over to your dresser to quickly change into some sleeping clothes. You didn’t want to wear a nightdress around Ponyboy since it seemed a little intimate so you opted for a pair of Justin’s sweatpants and an old t-shirt.
You cleaned up, made the bed and got ready for bed until Pony made his way out of your bathroom. You turned to see him water dripping from his hair and down his very bare stomach. You watched as the water dripped down to his V-line that was on display due to the very loose pants and at this moment you couldn’t have been more grateful for your father’s beer belly.
“I uh- hung the towel on the shower rod.” His voice came out raspy. You nodded quickly and turned away, blaming the intense heat in the room on the steam from the shower.
“Y/N” You could feel Pony’s hot breath on the back of your neck, his hands were on your waist. His skin radiated heat from the hot shower he took. You felt so dizzy in his space. Everything he did intoxicated you, you knew it was so wrong but the way you felt during made it seem so worth it, no matter the damage that it could create. You were starting to understand why your mom drank the day away in wine.
“Yes?” You whispered.
“Look at me y/n.” he whispered again. You let out a breath before turning to meet his eyes. You never thought eye color would mean anything to you, and now you weren’t even sure if you could ever look at gray or green eyes ever again. You weren’t sure about anything anymore. “What are you thinking?” His eyes scanned your face.
“I’ve never felt so alive like I do with you.” You shook your head slowly “I didn’t know I could even feel this way. I didn’t know this was even a possibility. I mean, did you?”
“I knew this feeling was real.” He nodded slowly “but I never imagined I’d actually be lucky enough to have it.” You nodded slowly. “I don’t wanna ruin tonight, but its gonna kill me if I don’t ask.” He looked down at you “What are you going to do about Justin?”
You closed your eyes taking a deep breath, “I don’t know.” You felt his body tense slightly, clearly not loving your answer. “Listen.” You looked at him “I will do something, but me and Justin have been together for almost a whole year, and we've been friends for much longer. I need to think of how to do this the right way. I owe him that much.” He nodded much more accepting of this answer.
“Come on, we can put on a movie.” You smiled up at him. He nodded and followed you to the bed where you pulled back the blankets and climbed inside. “You can pick the movie, I'm sure you have a much better idea than I do.” You smiled up at him. “The movies are in that drawer under the tv.” He nodded and made his way over scanning through the movies.
“You sure got a lot of movies for someone who doesn’t watch any.” He raised his brow up at you smirking.
“You think that’s impressive, I think you'd just about die if you saw our library.” You smirked. He shook his head bringing his attention back to the drawer before pulling a tape out. “What'd you pick?” you watched as the screen lit to life.
“You’ve never seen Sunset Boulevard?” he furrowed his brows at you as he climbed into the bed.
“I told you, I don’t have much time to watch movies.” You shrugged and couldn’t help but notice as he scooched in closer. Justin was never much for cuddling so the feeling on Ponyboy’s chest under you was different, but you couldn’t help but feel calm at the sound of his heart beating in his chest right underneath your ear.
“Well get ready for the best way to waste your time.” He whispered down at you.

When We Are Loved - Ponyboy Curtis x Reader Chapter 3: We’re Pretty Unique Boys.
Tumblr media
Question: Would you guys rather have me posting more request or working more on chapters to my ongoing series?
chapter 2
“I’m not sure why I never really enjoyed Austen, just never did.” Ponyboy shrugged his shoulders.
“Is he not a good writer or somethin?” You looked over to him. You both were walking down an old gravel road towards the abandoned park not too far from your school. You weren’t sure why people didn’t hang around there, considering the town you were in it was in pretty good shape. People around here were weird in that way, everyone knew where they belonged and who they belonged with. That wasn’t something you just went and messed with, if you did you were just doing it to look for a fight.
“She.” He chuckled looking up at you from the ground.
You scrunched your forehead and looked up at him “She?”.
“Jane Austen. She’s a woman.” The side of his lips rose in a playful smirk. He has really nice lips.
“Wow.” You gave a sad chuckle, kicking a stray pebble. “I must really seem dumb huh?”
“I don’t think you’re dumb” he shrugged making you look up at him again “I just think books never really caught your interest. I’m sure you’re much smarter than me at other things.”
You gave him a small smile, heat slightly creeping up your cheeks but you shook it off quickly. “I just don’t know how ya have time to read so much. I would if I could, I’m sure it’s real nice.”
“What do you mean time to read? What do you do with all of your time then?” he scrunched his forehead at you as you passed through the opening in the rusted chained fence.
“What do I not do?” you chuckled shaking your head as you walked over to an old wooden picnic table. “I have cheerleading, and piano lessons, French tutoring, math tutoring, homework, social club.” You rambled shaking your head. Ponyboy stared at you as you sat your bag down on the table.
“What?” You raised your brow eventually when he didn’t respond.
He shook his head slightly, placing his bag on the table also. “That’s just a lot. What do you do for fun?” He stepped into the seat, you mimicking his actions.
“What do ya mean?”
“Fun? You know that thing people do to relieve boredom.” He smirked at you making you roll your eyes.
“I mean Justin and I go to the drive in sometimes.” You shrugged pulling out some papers from your bag. “That’s pretty fun.”
“The drive-in isn’t fun.” He mocked.
“Well what do you do for fun then, huh?” you challenged him.
“Man, all you can do on our side of town is have fun.” He put on a tough face and puffed out his chest playfully. “Haven’t you heard of us Greasers?” he loudly joked “We break into stores and steal cars and smash windows!” He started to laugh, breaking his act making you laugh out loud also, the hardest you’ve laughed in a long time. It was nice to see this playful side of the boy that was so quiet before. You liked that he made light of the situation of your guys' lives. If you didn’t, you'd just about go crazy in this town. You both laughed until you finally caught your breath. “No, but really, we do have lots of fun. Legally too.” He chuckled as you both sobered up from your laughing fit.
“What do ya guys really do?”
He sat up slightly “Well, we don’t really do a whole lot. Just bein around each other is fun enough. The gangs always got you on your toes.” He smirked.
“The gang? Like your friends? You guys are really that close?”
“Oh yeah.” He nodded “Were all super close. Practically blood. Some of us even are, my brothers I mean. Don’t ya have best buddies?”
“Well yeah I have close friends” you shrugged “but nothing like that. I mean there’s Lisa who I pretty much shared a crib with and Justin of course.” You nodded “I don’t know, I never really see it as fun when I'm with them.”
“That’s the saddest thing I've ever heard” he shook his head making you gave him a small smile.
“Tell me about them.” He looked up at you.
“The gang?”
You nodded completely forgetting why you guys even came to this park in the first place. It was nice hanging out with Ponyboy, you never would have imagined how much fun he was. “The way you talk about them, the must be pretty great. What are they like?”
“Well,” he sat up slightly clearly thinking of what to say “There's my brothers, Sodapop and Darry. Soda is one of the best guys you’d ever meet, truly. He knows how to make anyone happy, even Darry which is sayin a lot.”
“Whys that?”
“Darry’s just got a lot goin on. He’s only twenty but he takes care of us, makes sure we always got enough, the gang too.” He nodded. You decided to remain silent, not pushing too much. “Then there's Steve, Soda’s best friend.” He continued. “Steve works down at the DX with Soda. He’s pretty cool. And then there's Two-Bit.”
“Two-Bit? You boys really have some unique names.” You smiled. You hoped Ponyboy didn’t think you were making fun of him because you really weren’t. You liked their names, you liked that they weren’t the same as everyone else.
You could tell by the smirk on Pony’s face that he didn’t take your comment as an offense. “We’re pretty unique boys.” You smiled at his remark. “Two-Bit’s real name is Keith, but if you ever met the guy you’d know why we call him Two-Bit. We’ve called him that so long I sometimes forget its not even his name.”
“Then there's Dallas.” He continued “Dally’s all sorts of trouble. I’m sure you’d see his picture up in the sheriff's office. Probably even framed too.” He chuckled making you giggle. “And then Johnny, there's not much to say about Johnny. He’s real quiet, kinda like me. But he’s a real good buddy. They all are.”
“It sounds like quite a gang.” You smiled at the thought. You never thought that people could be that close, even you got sick of your friends after too much time with them. But the way Ponyboy talks about his friends, you couldn’t imagine him ever getting sick of them.
“We really are. We stick together.” He shrugged “When you don’t got much, you appreciate the little you have.”
The way he said that last statement gave you a nauseated feeling. You knew you had a lot, always the nicest food, the nicest clothes, cars, houses, all of that. But you never felt like any of it really mattered. Who cares if you drive a fancy Mustang when the people in the back seat aren’t the people you want to be around?
For a moment you both sat in silence, and you imagined what it would be like to actually care about people the way Pony described.
“You like Justin?”
You looked up, taken aback by his question. “Well, yeah, of course I like him. He’s a good guy.” You blinked.
“A good guy? That’s all?”
“What do you mean that’s all? What more is there?” you furrowed your brows at him. “You don’t think that’s important? Bein a good person.”
Ponyboy shrugged as he pulled out his own school supplies from his bag “I guess yeah. But I mean that’s usually not what you think of when you talk about your boyfriend or girlfriend.”
“What do you think about then Mr. Relationship expert?” You playfully mocked.
You watched a slight blush creep up through Ponyboy’s cheeks, but he quickly recovered. “I just think that when you're in love you don’t just think of them as a good person. I mean anybody could be a good person. I just think that, to the person I love, id wanna be more than just anybody to them.”
You stared at Ponyboy for a second, taking in everything he just said. “I’ve never really seen it that way.” You shook your head slowly. “Justin and I, we just make sense you know? So, I always figured I was lucky that he was a good guy.” You weren’t quite sure why you were telling Ponyboy, some greaser kid, this kind of stuff. You didn’t even talk to Lisa, someone you’ve known your entire life, this way. So why is it with him everything is so much more different? So much easier.
“So you're with the kid because it makes sense? What, because ya guys look really good on paper?”
“Justin is a good guy,” you felt yourself slightly get defensive. No one questioned your choices when it came to your life before, in fact, the choices you made were hardly even yours. You weren’t sure how to feel now that someone didn’t actually agree. “It’s not like a fairytale Pony. That stuff doesn’t exist.”
“How do you know that though?” He scrunched his forehead.
“Well,” you blinked slowly “have you ever had that kind of fairytale before?” you no longer felt defensive but almost curious. And you couldn’t understand why a small part of you was hoping he would say yes. That there is more out there than planned boyfriends and scheduled lives. But you knew by the expression he held after you asked, there wasn’t. This was it. This was the life you were born to live, and this is the life you’re going to.
“Maybe we should just start?” you spoke back up after a few moments of silence. The heaviness of the conversation becoming too much for your comfort. Ponyboy nodded in agreement, clearly feeling the same as you as he grabbed the book and opened to the first page. “Gregory, on my word, we’ll not carry coals.” He spoke.
You listened to Ponyboy read the pages from the book. You never found interest in art, or movies or books. English class always was a bore to you and you never could make it through a school play to save your life, but as he read the words you couldn’t help but listen. You liked the way he spoke, his voice raspy but clear. He never stuttered and he read with a sense of confidence that he must have adapted from countless hours of reading.
You liked how he didn’t get too excited when he read, but he wasn’t mundane either. He didn’t feel a need to attempt to mimic the emotion the author was portraying, because he knew the words written were enough. He took these things, these complicated words and he did something you couldn’t even imagine. He didn’t try to water them down and make them simple, but he didn’t try to make them anything more. He just let them thrive in their own way.
“Maybe that’s enough for today?” He finally looked up from the pages. You blinked, taking in your surroundings. The sun that once shined high and beat down ruthlessly has now started to lower and the temperature has cooled with the upcoming evening. You didn’t even notice the time that ticked by while Pony was reading. You started gathering your stuff together, Pony doing the same.
“When do you wanna meet again? I know you’re busy and all.” He slung his bookbag over his shoulder before standing.
You stood up mimicking his actions “I’m free after five tomorrow if you'd like to meet then?”
He nodded his head as you both slowly made your way out of the park “I can meet ya here.” You agreed before Ponyboy nodded a goodbye to you. You gave him a small wave before turning in the opposite direction of him to go towards your home.
The entire walk was consumed with your thoughts and for the first time in a while, your thoughts weren’t about everything you had to do. Instead, you couldn’t stop thinking about Ponyboys’ words. Your head was spinning as you replayed every word, words that weren’t even his own. Yet, when he spoke them, your stomach twisted in a way you’ve never experienced before.
You took a deep breath as you walked through the large perfectly crafted wooden door of your home. Your house truly was beautiful, even down to the detailed carvings in the wooden trim. It was such a beautiful mask that perfectly covered the mess inside.
Your family wasn’t crazy out there or anything. Your parents were nice and they always got you what you wanted but lately, you couldn’t help but notice how much more frequent your dad’s crude remarks towards your mom were and how your mom seemed to be pouring herself more and more wine each night. No one would ever know this stuff though. Just like the house, everything on the outside was beautiful, down to the smallest details.
“Mom?” You called as you walked through the door and made your way into the kitchen where your mom usually was around this time, where you found a notecard on the counter.
At the country club, your father is working late. There's money In the drawer if you'd like to get dinner.
 Love, mom.
You let out a breath and dropped the note back on the counter before making your way up to your bedroom and heading towards the phone.
“Hey baby.” You heard your boyfriends voice come through the line.
“Hey,” you fell back onto your bed “have any plans for the night?”
“Actually yeah, me and James are hangin out. What's up?”
You chewed your lip thinking about your next words. You didn’t wanna be alone tonight but you knew that if James was with Justin, they'd be drinking, and as soon as Justin knew you were home alone he’d be on his way over. You just didn’t have the energy to deal with him when he was drunk.
“Just curious. I miss ya is all.”
“I miss ya too hun. Listen, how about me and you grab some dinner tomorrow night? I feel like we've barely spent any time together.”
“I cant” you chewed your lip, a habit you’ve never been able to drop no matter how much your mother lectured you. You did it so often sometimes you’d even accidentally slice a cut into your bottom lip. “I have to work on my project after tutoring.”
“On a Friday night? I know it's for a project and all but I don’t like how much time you're spendin with this greaser kid y/n.”
You closed your eyes sighing slightly. You had a feeling you shouldn’t have told Justin about Ponyboy being a greaser, and right now you really wish you didn’t. “I’ll cancel ok? We can get dinner.”
“Okay. I’ll see you at school tomorrow. I love you.”
You heard the words and immediately thought back to Mr. Spite in class on Tuesday. The way he described love was stuck in your head, the words on a constant loop. He made it seem so much more than what it was. You loved Justin, your parents were in love, James and Lisa were in love. You knew what love was, but for some reason when Justin said the words, all you could think about was the way Mr. Spite talked about it.  “You too.” You breathed before ending the call.
You felt flustered. You weren’t sure how you were gonna even cancel with Ponyboy since you didn’t know his number or where he even lives. You weren’t sure if you even wanted to cancel on Pony. You told yourself that your hesitation was logical. You couldn’t do badly on this project. But if you were truly being honest with yourself, you found yourself enjoying Ponyboy’s company. And spending the evening with him seemed much more fun than with Justin.
You got up and made your way into your father's study and dug around in a few cabinets until you found a big yellow phone book. You looked through the Curtis’s until you found a Darrel Curtis listed. You remember Pony telling you about his older brother Darry, and that was the only name that was somewhat similar.
You walked back into your room and dialed the printed number, waiting for an answer. You weren’t even sure if you were calling the right person. What if the phone number was listed under his parent's name? Why did you even agree to cancel in the first place? Before you had the chance to over analyze everything you heard a cheerful voice spill through the line.
“Hello?” The man's voice chuckled, clearly coming down from a laughing fit. The voice made you smile slightly.
“Uh hi? Is this uh- the Curtis home?” you scratched your head. That was stupid. Of course it’s the Curtis home, you just looked up the name in the phonebook.
“Yeah, who’s askin?” the voice didn’t comment on your stupid question and for that you were grateful.
“My name is Y/N I’m lookin for Ponyboy.” You listened as you heard the boy yell Ponyboy’s name away from the phone. You were relieved that you had the right number, but worry set back in when you listened to the chatter on the other line. You were sure Pony was gonna think you were crazy for calling him at his house. Would he be mad? Would he be upset at you for canceling?
You were starting to wish you didn’t give the man your name so you could have just hung up. “Y/N?” you heard Pony’s familiar voice.
“Hey, I’m sorry for callin you at home.”
“No, don’t worry about it. What's up?”
“I can't meet with you tomorrow something came up.” You chewed on your lip again.
“Oh. Okay well, that’s okay I guess.” You felt a pang of guilt. You felt like all you did was disappoint this kid and two weeks ago it wouldn’t have bothered you at all, but now you hated how upset he sounded.
“I'm so sorry Pony. What day is okay with you? Maybe this weekend?”
“I cant. I have some stuff I can't miss or I would.”
“Well,” you sighed ignoring the twisting feeling in your stomach you were feeling just a few hours ago “You could come over tonight? I mean, just so we don’t get too far behind.”
“Like to your house?” you heard the obvious surprise in his voice.
“Well yeah, I mean only if you want to. It really is fine if you don’t wanna.” You rushed.
“No, no I will. Let me just talk to my brother and I’ll head on over. What’s your address?”

The New Girl in Town- Sodapop Curtis x Reader Chapter 8: Somewhere Real Special
Tumblr media
Chapter 7
“I wanna take you somewhere.” Soda looked over at you. You both were sitting on the couch with a movie playing and Pony was sleeping with his head in Soda’s lap. After Darry walked in on you and Soda kissing on the couch, Pony was told to stay with you both for the rest of the night.
“Right now?” You scrunched your forehead at the boy.
“No” he chuckled shaking his head. “Is tomorrow okay?”
You bit your lip. You haven’t been in Tulsa very long and you’ve spent quite of bit your time here with Soda. You haven’t even been to your new house yet, but you thought about how much more fun you had with Soda than without, so you nodded your head.
“He really does love you.” You whispered looking at Ponyboy curled into Soda. Soda nodded his head, stroking his hair lightly.
“We have always been close, all of us, but after mom and dad died, it’s just rough you know?” he whispered, not taking his eyes off Pony. “Darry just has more responsibilities than any twenty year old should have, I think he’s just in over his head sometimes. He’s tough on Ponyboy, but he does love him, I just wish Pony could see it.” He sighed.
You stared at him for a moment, taking everything in. “What happened?”
“Accident.” He shrugged sadly.
“I bet they were really great.” you smiled slightly “I mean look at you guys’. I can’t imagine how they were.” You shook your head.
“They sure were.” He turned to you, smiling at the memory. “My dad was a lot like I am. Real happy, but I’m a spitting image of my ma. Darry is the opposite. Looks just like my dad, but is real collected like my mom.” He looked down at Ponyboy, “Pony doesn’t really see it, but I think he’s a mix of both. He’s got all the best parts of both of them.”
You smiled at him “He really is such a good kid.”
“Oh yeah.” He nodded “He’s so smart, just like Darry is. But Pony’s different. He looks at life differently. I think it’s all those books he reads all the time.”
“What about you?” you leaned on your arm looking at him.
He turned to you raising his brows “What about me?”
“What makes you so different? I feel like I know so much about your brothers, but I don’t know anything about you.” You whispered.
Soda gave you a small smile and nodded his head. “I’ll tell ya anything you wanna know. Tomorrow.”
“Where are you takin me now?” you looked over at Soda. You were sitting in the passenger seat of Two-Bit’s car that he let Soda borrow for the day, the windows were rolled down and the sun was shining brightly.
“Somewhere real special.” He briskly took his eyes off the road to smile over at you. He let go of the steering wheel with one hand and patted your thigh before resting it there.
You smiled back, staring at the boy while he drove. Soda was a cute man, that was for sure and everyone knew it. But something about the way the sun shined down on him and how he gripped the wheel loosely as if It were the most natural thing in the world, made him go from an obviously cute man to something much more. He was attractive.
It wasn’t just in his looks either, not even just his personality that made him attractive. It was him. The way he held himself, he was like a light you couldn’t help but be drawn too. Someone who seemed know who they were. He didn’t need to go and travel to some random town to find himself because he’s known it all along.
You watched in amazement. Like a new species that was unknown to a scientist, he sparked a curiosity in you, and everything about him made you want more. It was strange, longing for something you weren’t even sure was real. But as you watched the boy with greased back hair, a flannel button down tossed over a plain white tee, and some old beat up blue jeans, you just couldn’t help but think, just how attractive he was.
“What’s buzzin in that mind of yours? You’ve been awfully quiet.” Soda turned to you, switching his sight from you to the road every few seconds.
“You.” You giggled making a smile stretch across his face.
Soda didn’t push for any further explanation, he just smiled and you were grateful. You had to stop yourself sometimes with him and remind yourself how little you actually knew him. Though you both don’t have much time experienced with one another, you couldn’t help just how much you liked being with Soda, and the times when you weren’t with him, you couldn’t help but think about being with him.
“Alrighty we’re here.” He sighed, opening up the car door and running around the front of the car to beat you to yours. You giggled and thanked him as you took his hand and stepped out into the bright light.
Soda walked to the back of the car and you took that time to take in your surroundings. You were in a wide grassy field. You knew someone must have owned it though since all of the grass was nicely kept and there was a wooden building a couple hundred feet away. “Soda what are we doing here?” you turned to see him pulling out a duffel bag from the trunk.
“You said you wanted to get to know me.” He shrugged walking over to you, “Come on.” He smiled grabbing your hand.
You smiled, accepting his hand and walked through the grass towards the wooden building, taking in the rest of your surroundings on the way. There were three little sections all marked off with a fence scattered around, a pond with some ducks sat not too far from the building, and there was another wooden building not too far away but this one was tremendously smaller, only enough room for two or three people to be inside.
You walked up to the giant doors of the building and Soda pushed one open. The door creaked and the smell of animals hitting you instantly. You looked around, observing the room, seeing almost a dozen stalls lined on both sides of the wall. A few stalls had horses sticking their heads out, some staring at the intruders, some not minding at all.
You looked over at Soda, this being the last thing you expected, and saw him smiling a big toothy grin. “You ready?” he looked down at you.

Posting
Hey guys! As you can see I haven’t been posting in the past few days. I’m not stoping the blog or the stories I have going and I will be continuing to take in requests. I just moved this past week about 7 hours from where I used to live and I’m starting at a new college so I’ve been preoccupied. Because of this I don’t know if I will be continuing posting a new chapter/ requests everyday like I was but I will definitely be getting them up, just at a slower rate.
Love all of you guys and thank you so much for being such an amazing support.

You’re the One Dylan x Reader Chapter 11: The Best Thing
Tumblr media
chapter 10
I walked into the doorway of my apartment completely drained. After my talk with Dylan, I caught the next flight out back to Florida and left California broke and broken.
“Jesus Y/N you didn’t answer any of my calls. I've been worried sick.” Jamie shot up from the couch meeting me at the door.
I turned and looked at her shaking my head. Her shoulders slacked “Oh.” She breathed.
“I'm gonna go to bed.” I swallowed.
“Y/N you need to talk about this.” She frowned.
“I will I promise” I shook my head. “But I'm exhausted and I just need to go to bed.” She nodded her head as I made my way past her to my bedroom and climbed into bed. And for the first time since I walked away from Dylan out in California, I cried.
I let everything out and sobbed as I thought of Brody, and Dylan and how bad I messed everything up. And now I don’t only have one marking to remind me, but I have two because I just had to get a stupid tattoo that would end up being my imprint on someone I can't have. I cried so hard that it was a struggle to catch my breath, feeling my bed dip as Jamie crawled in and laid down with me, pulling me into a hug. And for hours I just cried.
That’s how its been for the last four days. I only got out of bed to use the restroom. Jamie hasn’t left my side and has begged me to eat but I just can't. I haven’t turned on the tv or even turned my phone on because I was too scared to see him. I just laid, slept, and cried.
“I don’t think so.” I heard Jamie in the living room. Jamie has been talking to someone on the phone every hour but shes never left the house and never said anything about the conversation when she’d come back into the room so I never asked.
“I understand but it's not a good idea.” I furrowed my brows as I listened closer. I could hear the murmuring of another voice. I sighed standing up and wrapping my blanket around me before walking out into the living room.
“Jamie whos-“ I froze when I walked into the room, standing only twenty feet away from Dylan. “What are you doing here?” I whispered. I stared at Dylan taking his appearance in. He looked rough. His face was covered in stubble when it's normally clean and shaved. His hair ratty and wild like he hasn’t brushed it in days. His eyes were bloodshot and his skin was pale.
“We need to talk.” He nodded to me, his face was stone.
I nodded and walked towards the door, handing Jamie my blanket and giving her a soft smile as we stepped outside.
“What do you-“
“Who in the hell do you think you are?” Dylan cut me off, taking me off guard at his bluntness.
“Excuse me?” I scrunched my forehead.
“You walk into my life, lead me on for months and break my heart. Then decide to fly out to where I live and fuck with me before the biggest fucking premier of my career.” He raised his voice staring at me like I was a nuisance.
“You came all the way here to tell me that?” I scoffed shaking my head.
“I'm not done.” His tone was cold and bitter. “You do all of this to me. You make me fall in love with you when you're engaged.” He looked disgusted with every word that came out of his lips. “and now I'm stuck because I don’t know what to do because I’m in love you.” He shook his head.
“Then stop! Stop loving me if its such an inconvenience for you.” I shook my head.
“You think its that easy?” he looked at me like I was crazy. “If I could stop loving you I would! But I fucking cant! Forget about Bryan, forget about Britt, and the lies, and these stupid fucking marks!” he yelled throwing his hands in the air “Forget all of it because I can't forget you.” His voice got softer, his expression looked almost pained to be saying the words. “I wish I didn’t love you, but I do. And I need to know if you love me too, only me.” he emphasized the last two words like they were the only ones that mattered.
I looked up at him, trying my best to hold everything in. “I can't be your soulmate Dylan. I know your soulmate isn’t someone so fucked up like me.” I shook my head.
“I’m not asking if you’re my soulmate y/n” he lifted my head to force me to look at him “I’m asking if you love me too.”.
I shut my eyes wishing all of this would just disappear. Too much damage has been done and I know I should walk away, but the idea of walking away from Dylan broke my heart even more. I started to cry, biting my lip to keep from sobbing completely. “Y/N.” Dylan’s voice cracked. “Give me a reason not to walk away right now. Please.”
I looked up at his bloodshot, swollen eyes and breathed. “I wish I didn’t love you. Because you deserve someone so much better than me.” I shrugged, looking away as the tears kept falling. “But I do. I love you.” I sobbed looking at him.
Dylan let out a breath of air, shaking his head, letting out a low chuckle. “Promise me you're done with him.” He looked at me completely vulnerable.
“I am. But are you done with her?” I was scared to hear his answer, scared to fall back into bed and sob like I have for the past four days.
“y/n I have been done with her for over a year.” He shook his head “I was there because my house was being worked on because of a gas leak. I was never back with her.”
I sighed, relieved that he really wasn’t getting back together with Britt. “I swear.” I moved closer to him and cupped his face lightly. “Brody and I are done. It's over Dylan.” I whispered up at him. I watched as his facial features got much softer and less guarded as I spoke. “It's just you.” I whispered.
Dylan stared at me for a moment, as if trying to figure out if I was telling the truth. I watched as a small smile broke out on his lips. “I have never met someone who made me feel like I was on a roller coaster the way you do.” He laughed lightly, staring at me in disbelief.
“Is that a good thing?” I whispered as he inched closer.
“The best.” He whispered back before leaning down and for the very first time, Dylan kissed me.

When We Are Loved - Ponyboy Curtis x Reader Chapter 2: Meaningless Shells
Tumblr media
chapter 1
You used to collect shells when you were a kid. Your parents would take you to this beach house down in Florida, Cocoa Beach every summer and you would spend the entire trip just looking for shells. Your grandparents lived there for all of your life and it was your favorite trip. Your luggage always seemed to weigh five pounds more on the way home than it did on the way there.
Your parents never understood your fascination with the meaningless seashells and to be completely truthful, you never quite understood it yourself. But as you would skip down the shoreline you couldn’t help but stop at the sight of one. Each shell with their own unique shape, color, and condition would pull you in. You would pick up a shell and your mind would carry away. Where did it come from? How did it end up here? If it could see things, what kind of things did it see down there?
Even meaningless shells, even things that have no life, no sight, no feelings, you wondered about. You cared to know every little detail of its life. You would take these shell home and keep them locked in a jewelry box your mom bought you, pulling them out every once in a while, to be able to wonder again.
You cared so much about shells, and now at sixteen years old, ten years later, you couldn’t even care to learn the names of actual human beings around you. You couldn’t remember exactly when you stopped caring. You couldn’t picture that exact moment or incident that made you go numb. You couldn’t figure out where you went wrong. But as you stared up at Justin not hearing a word he was saying, you couldn’t help but wonder what it would be like to feel again. Feel the way you felt when you found another shell.
“So, I figured I’d just swing by and get you around four.” He shrugged pulling you out of your thoughts.
“What?” You looked up at him, taken off guard.
“What are you always thinkin in that head of yours?” He chuckled shaking his head. “I was sayin for tonight. I can pick ya up at four.”
You blinked up at him a few times, confused about when you agreed to a date. “I can’t.”
“What?” he furrowed his brows down at you “Why not?”
“I have to work on my final for Mr. Spite after school today.” You shrugged, standing from the wall as the bell signaled.
“Work on it later then.” He shrugged following you.
“I can’t I have to meet uh-” you shook your head slowly trying to be careful about your words. “my partner. After school in the library.”
He walked next to you, staring down at you as you made your way to your locker. “Okay. You want me to stay behind with ya?”
You stopped at your locker and turned to look up at Justin. “No. I mean I do but I’ll just be distracted the whole time.” You gave him a tight smile and turned to your locker to open it.
“Yeah. Okay.” He nodded smiling.
“Why don’t you and James hang out tonight?” You reached up to exchange your books.
“Yeah, we’ll find somethin to get into.” He smirked leaning against the lockers. Him and James were best buddies, just like you and Lisa, and he meant it when he said they’d find something to get into. They always did just like every other kid in this town, the difference is though they never got in trouble.
You gave him a small smile and shut your locker. “I’ll see ya.” He leaned down to kiss you on the cheek. You nodded, turning to walk to your first class.
“For never was a story of more woe than this of Juliet and her Romeo.” Mr. Spite moved around the front of the classroom. “Does anyone here know some background on the story?”
Some red-headed girl with too many freckles from two rows behind you rose her hand. “Isn’t it a story about a boy dying for the girl’s love?”
“No, everyone knows the girl kills herself because the boy doesn’t love her.” The guy behind her spoke up making everyone around them laugh.
“Quiet down.” Mr. Spite shook his head. “No. Neither actually. In this story, there are two people that fall in love.” He held up the book as he paced through the class. “But because of where they came from, their love isn’t the easiest thing to accept. It’s such a famous piece of literature because it sums up love in a perfect way.” he spoke slowly.
He stops pacing and leans against his desk, somehow holding the classes attention, especially yours. “For love, you will give up any war. For love, you will sacrifice anything and everything, even the life you were born to live.”
You walked out of the school building the same as you did every day, but today you walked in the direction of an old run-down Diner down the road. You couldn't stop thinking of Mr. Spite’s words all day. For love, you will sacrifice anything and everything, even the life you were born to live.
You weren't quite sure how you felt about his statement. You’ve seen love. Your parents were in love, you were in love, even all of your friends were in love. But love never made you want to sacrifice anything. Actually, it was because of the life you were born to live that you even found love in the first place. It didn't make sense to you, if love was such a good thing then why sacrifice anything at all? You liked the life you lived, why would anyone choose to give that away?
You knew all of this but the big thing was, it wasn't the words he spoke, but the way he spoke them. When he spoke about love, he made it seem like it was the most complicated yet simple thing in the entire world. He spoke as if no one could explain love, but once they felt it, it was the easiest thing there was.
The entire walk didn’t seem to take you very long by the time you pulled open the double doors of the restaurant. You walked in and looked around for the dark-haired boy. The Diner just as he had claimed, was empty and lacking any customers under the age of sixty.
There was Ponyboy sitting in a booth in the corner, his back turned to you and his nose in a book. You walked over to the booth, moving your head into his line of sight to catch his attention. “Hey.”
He snapped up from his book and looked up at you. “Oh, hey. Uh, take a seat.” He nodded towards the other side of the booth, setting his book down. You took a better look at him, his dark hair was long like he hasn't cut it in years. You never understood that about greasers, why wouldn't they want to keep up their appearance? It’s the first thing people notice about you.
You nodded and sat your bag down on the red leather seat and scooted in yourself. “Do you even know what this book’s about?” You shook your head as you unzipped your bag.
“No, I never read that one.” He cleared his throat, shaking his head.
You pulled the book and paper of requirements out, setting them on the table. “You read a lot?”.
“Why do ya say that?” He blinked at you. You raised your brow and pointed to the book next to him he was just reading a moment ago. His cheeks burned slightly as he nodded his head slowly. “Yeah. I like to read.”
You gave him a soft smile and straightened up, letting out a breath. “So how do you wanna do this? We only got one book and I don’t think we can start on anything until we read it.” You pursed your lips.
“I guess we can just take turns reading it.” He shrugged. “Have you started it yet?”
“No.” You shook your head. “I mean I have but I couldn’t make it past the second page. I’m not much of a reader.” You chuckled lightly.
“Hey Ponyboy, what are you hangin around here for?” A girl with blonde hair walked over to our booth interrupting your conversation. She was a beautiful girl, must have been a greaser girl because you didn't recognize her. Plus, her converse had holes in them and her tank top had traces of thread where you can see she attempted to sow a hole up. The most obvious thing about her though was her very large pregnant belly that stuck out her apron.
“Hey. We’re just workin on a project for school.” He nodded over to you.
She nodded before pulling a notepad out of her apron pocket. “Can I grab ya anything while ya work?”
“I’ll take a coffee if ya don’t mind.” You smiled up at her.
She nodded before turning to Ponyboy. “Pepsi please.” He smiled up at her. She wrote down on her paper before turning and walking away. “Anyway” he turned back to you “would ya just like me to read the book?”
“If you’re the only one who reads the book then I won’t be able to help out on the project.” You shook your head. “I’ll just have to suffer through it.” you shrugged.
He nodded in response while the waitress sat down the drinks on the table. You thanked her and made up your coffee while Ponyboy skimmed the first few pages of the book. “This isn’t gonna work.” You eventually shook your head after a few minutes of agonizing silence.
Ponyboy looked up at you from the book raising his brows. “What’s not?”
“Doin this” you motioned between the two of you. “We gotta start workin on this project immediately with all the stuff we gotta do but we can’t just sit here while one person reads and the other just stares.”
He nodded his head and rubbed his jaw. “What do ya wanna do then?”
“We’re just gonna have to do the pre-read stuff today and you can take the book home or something and read it before we meet up again.”
“That’ll take too long and we need all the time we can get to work on this project if ya wanna get a good grade.” he shook his head, ruffling his hair.
You chewed on your lip thinking. He was right you had to start immediately, and you had so much to do and reading wasn't on the top of your list so you weren't sure when you'd actually finish the thing. “What should we do then?”
“I could read it to you.” You scrunched up your forehead at the boy.
“I said I'm not much of a reader not that I can't read.”
He shook his head “I didn't mean that. I'm just sayin I'm a fast reader, and if I just read it to you that cuts the time in half.” he shrugged.
It made sense and actually it was a pretty good idea so you agreed. You and Ponyboy worked on the pre-assignments for a few hours before deciding to call it a day. “Hey, Karen,” Ponyboy called over to your waitress. She smiled and made her way over. “We’re leavin how much do I owe ya?” he nodded towards the empty cups.
“It’s on the house.” She shrugged grabbing the glasses. “Good to see ya again Pony.” She smiled down at him before turning away.
“Well, that was nice.” You started packing all the papers up.
“Oh, yeah, I guess.” He shrugged.
“You guess?” you stood up and threw your bag on your shoulder. “She gave us our drinks for free.”
“Yeah,” He followed as you made your way out the diner, “but I mean we’re friends. That’s not that crazy. Don’t your friends do the same?”
You looked over at him and blinked a few times. “No, not really.” You shrugged. “I guess we just don’t think to do that kind of thing.”
“What kind of thing? Helpin each other out?” he pushed open the door, the bell at the top ringing.
“I guess so.” You chuckled lightly, shaking your head. You stepped out, the sky was already turning pink from the sun fading.
“So, uh, we can meet again tomorrow if ya want.” Ponyboy turned to you.
“I have cheerleading practice tomorrow. I can Thursday. We can meet here.”
“If I’m gonna read Shakespeare out loud I don’t think it’d be too hot of an idea to do so in front of an audience.” He chuckled making you give him a small smile. “We can go to that park out by the school?”
“Yeah okay. I’ll see ya then.” You nodded and turned down the road, you both walking in the opposite direction to your homes.
You walked home already getting a headache and dying for a glass of water. “Y/N is that you?” you heard your mom yelling from the living room. You winced at the noise and walked towards her.
“Hey, mom.” You stepped inside, setting your schoolbag on the ground. She was sitting on the couch flipping through the pages of a magazine.
“Hey, honey. Where were you? It’s late.” She looked up at you.
“I was workin on that project I told you about.” You leaned against the wall and closed your eyes, the tension in your head strengthening. “Where’s dad at?”
She nodded her head, taking another sip of wine. “He’s workin late. Make sure you’re home in time for your lessons tomorrow.” She flipped the pages of her magazine, taking a sip of her wine.  You nodded and grabbed your bag, slipping out of the room.
You made your way up the stairs to your room and decided to sit down and work on some homework. Math was never your strongest subject but you couldn’t let your grades slip.
“Y/N! Phone!” your mom yelled after a few minutes. You sighed, reaching over and grabbing the landline that was put in your room.
“Hello?”
“Hey baby. I was thinkin I’d come by for a few minutes tonight.” Justin’s voice spilled through the phone. You chewed on your lip. It was a normal thing for Justin to sneak over after lights out, he used to do it a lot and you loved when he would, but for some reason, you sat there and thought of everything else you’d rather be doing.  “Y/N?”
“Sorry, uh- yeah that’s fine. Come on over.” You stood up making your way over to the bathroom.
“See ya in a bit.” You heard before he clicked the phone off. You opened up your medicine cabinet and grabbed a bottle of Advil, swallowing down two pills, and quickly cleaning yourself up, doing your hair and touching up your makeup to make yourself much more presentable for Justin. After only a few minutes you heard a knock on your window.
You looked over to see Justin staring at you through the glass, you made your way over to the window and quickly opened it up, helping him climb through. “I can’t believe you haven’t fallen doin that yet.” You chuckled, sliding the window shut.
“I have I just never told you about it.” He chuckled walking over to you, putting his hands on your waist. You smiled up and wrapped your arms around his neck. “Hey.” He whispered.
“Hi.” You whispered before he leaned down to kiss you. “I missed you.”
“I missed you too darlin.” He smiled looking down at you, his bright blue eyes and smile lines as beautiful as ever. Those small little details drove your crazy during the first few months of your relationship, but now his blue eyes were just blue eyes. You walked over to your desk and started to put away your homework, Justin sitting on your bed.
You liked Justin, and you knew he liked you too. You both have been dating for a long while now, already hitting all the big milestones. The exchanging of I love you’s, being intimate together, and all that.
You always figured Justin would just be the guy you married, maybe had kids someday. It was a good relationship. You didn’t fight and you both just went well together. You were the head cheerleader and he was the quarterback, his mom ran the committee your mom co-founded, your dad was partners with his dad down at the dealership. On paper, you were the perfect match. So really, it wasn’t much of a shocker that you ended up together.  “How was that project?”
You turned to look at him “huh?”
“The project?” He raised his brow laying back on the bed, “The one ya were working on after school. How’d it go?”
“Oh yeah.” You shook your head chuckling turning back to your desk, “It was okay. The book is a real bore though.”
“Are ya supposed to meet with that girl tomorrow night? Cause we got the game.”
“What girl?” You scrunched up your forehead, turning to him again.
He raised his brows at you once more. “Your partner? You said ya met up with her earlier.”
“I met up with my partner yeah” you nodded “but I never said it was a girl.”
He sat up and looked at you strangely. “You’re hangin after school with some guy?” he blinked.
“It’s not like we’re hangin out” you chuckled walking over to him, standing between his legs and putting your arms on his shoulders. “were just workin on this stupid project. I don’t really have a choice.”
“Who is it? Anyone I know?” He put his hands on your waist, rubbing circles into your hip bones.
You played with his chocolate brown hair, he always kept it a bit longer at the top but you've always liked longer hair anyway so it never bothered you much. “I wouldn’t think so. I didn’t even know the kid before yesterday.”
“What’s his name?”
“Uh, Ponyboy Curtis.” You shrugged. He looked up at you furrowing his brows. “What?”
“Curtis? Like Sodapop Curtis?”
“How do you know Sodapop?” you scrunched your forehead.
“Used to have some classes with him. Kids a real airhead. He ended up bein a dropout. Is that his brother?”
“I guess.” You shrugged. “It’s not like I really asked him about his life. He’s just some greaser kid.”
“You’re runnin around with some greaser guy? You really thought this was a good idea?”
You stepped back from Justin, tilting your head. “I’m not runnin around with him. We’re doin a project for school. It’s not like I had a choice in who my partner is.” You crossed your arms “I can’t fail this final or I’ll get kicked off the squad you know that.”
“I know.” He grabbed your waist pulling you back towards him “I just don’t like the idea of some greasy kid thinkin he’s got a chance with my girlfriend is all.” He smiled up at you.
You chuckled down at him shaking your head. “There’s nothin to worry about. He’s just some kid.”
“Y/N you can go ahead and go on home. Don’t be late for tonight.” Your coach nodded at you. You stood up and quickly made your way back into the school, hurrying to your locker so you could grab your normal clothes and change out of your cheerleading uniform.
You quickly changed and sped walked home, finally letting out a breath when you walked through your front door. “I’m here!” you called dropping your bag onto the floor.
“We’re in here.” You followed your mothers' voice into the living room where she was sitting with your piano instructor.
“Hi, Mrs. Livingston hope you didn’t have to wait too long.” You smiled at her.
“Not long at all. Let’s get started.” She smiled up at you. You made it through your practice fairly okay and quickly ran upstairs to get ready and change back into your cheerleading uniform before running out the door and in the direction of the school.
Sometimes you felt like this was all you did. It looked really good to always be busy, well rounded and participate in everything. That’s why your parents never hesitated to sign you up for things. You couldn’t even remember the last time you just sat around at home. You were always going and going. “There you are!” Lisa ran towards you as you made your way through the gate.
“I’m sorry.” You breathed trying to catch your breath from the run over here.
“Let’s just go. Coach is waiting.” She grabbed your arm, dragging you towards the rest of the girls. You stumbled following along, making your way over there.
The football field was full, bodies of people everywhere through the stands, under the bleachers, on the fence. Everyone made sure to get here for the game. Everyone was like you in that way, it was normal for everyone to be at every event, in every club, hosting every fundraiser. Everyone was always so busy it seemed, just trying to distract themselves from the real things that were going on. You couldn’t even judge them though, because you put on just as good of an act as everyone else.
“Okay, you’re here.” The coach looked over to you. “Go ahead and head on out. We’ve got about ten minutes until the game starts.” All of the girls nodded their head and ran out to the field, doing the routine you’ve all practiced a bunch of times. You cheered for the next few hours as the game progressed, keeping a tight smile on your face and using all of the energy you could muster up. Eventually, the final signal was called and the game was over.
You breathed and made your way over to the fence to grab some water, attempting to cool off. “Hey Y/N.” You turned to see Ponyboy standing there, leaning against the wire fence.
You blinked a few times “Hey. What are ya doin here?”
“Uh, my brother used to play football here. He likes to come to the games and watch.” He nodded, hooking his thumbs in his pockets.
“Sodapop is your brother, right?”
“No.” He shook his head. “Well yeah, my brother is Sodapop, but he’s not the one I was talkin about. It was my other brother Darry.” You nodded your head. “How do ya know Sodapop?”
“I don’t. My friend knows him, seen him down at some gas station she said.” You shrugged as he nodded.
“Uh- you did real good out there. Cheerin I mean.” He pulled a pack of cigarettes out of his back pocket.
“Thanks.” You gave him a small smile as he held one to his lips and lit one. You watched the end light a bright red. He held out the pack offering you one but you shook your head, declining the offer.
“Hey Y/N James is takin Lisa down to-” Justin jogged over to you, still in his football uniform dripping in sweat, he slowed at the sight of you talking to Ponyboy. “What’s goin on?”
“Justin this is Ponyboy. My partner for the project.” You smiled up at him. He stared at Ponyboy, neither of them exchanging hellos. You chewed on your lip watching the exchange between the two. “We’re gonna get goin Ponyboy. I’ll see ya in class.” You nodded grabbing Justin’s arm and walking towards the gate.
“I didn’t know you guys were friends.” He looked down at you, his expression hardened.
“We’re not. We were just talkin about meeting in the library tomorrow again.” You shrugged. He nodded, accepting your answer, but there was something else in his expression you weren’t sure of. “Why don’t you go get cleaned up? We can go grab a coke with James and Lisa in celebration.” You smiled up at him.
He turned to you, putting his hands on your waist. “My parents are out of town tonight. Come stay the night.” He smirked. You weren’t really in the mood to be with Justin all night, you were tired and wanted to just go on to bed when you got home, plus you were with him almost all night last night and you were dying for some sleep. But you knew no matter what excuse you gave him, he’d find a solution.
You gave him a tight smile and nodded. “I’ll meet ya at your car.” He nodded and gave you a quick kiss on your cheek before jogging off in the direction of his friends.
You turned to look around for Lisa, your eyes locking on Ponyboy’s, as he was standing there looking at you while smoking a cigarette. His dark hair was wild and unkempt, his jeans torn up and his flannel on the tighter side from his muscle. You couldn’t help but notice him, and you weren’t quite sure why you did now when you never did before.
But for some reason, when you looked at him you felt the same way you did when you were six. Running around the shoreline too busy for anything, that is until you would spot a shell. And you weren't sure what scared you more, the feeling coming back that you haven't felt in years, or the fact that Ponyboy was the reason you were feeling it. You gave him a small wave which he returned before turning and walking off.

It’s Always Been You - Dallas x Reader : Chapter 5: Do you miss her?
Tumblr media
chapter 4
“You’re gonna break his heart pullin a stunt like this y/n” Two-bit sighed leaning against his hand on the couch.
“He has a heart?” You faked confusion making Two-Bit roll his eyes. Soda told all of the boys except Dallas about Tim.
Dallas walked into the door immediately making eye contact with you. “Hey two-bit,” he said while walking in the room.
“I wanna punch him in the face.” You breathed looking at two-bit.
“I heard that.” He called from the kitchen.
“I hate you.” You called loudly so he could hear.
He walked in opening a Coke, “Why? I’m lovely.” He shrugged his shoulders walking back out the front door.
“Are you sure I can’t punch him in the face?” you looked back to Two-Bit.
“I’m sure.”
“What if I just break his nose a little?” you questioned making him laugh.
You sighed standing from the couch and grabbing your jacket, heading out the door. Dallas was standing there leaning on the fence, smoking a cigarette. “I heard you were runnin it with Timmy now.” He tilted his head.
“You heard right. Going to see him now.” You shrugged.
“You don’t need to be messin with him y/n. I told you a year ago and I’m tellin you again.”
“You have no control over me anymore Dallas.” You raised an eyebrow.
He smirked at you, “You sure about that?” he took another drag of his cigarette.
“Whatever you say Dallas” you rolled your eyes turning to walk away.
“Aren’t you afraid of me?” he mocked you as he moved off the fence to follow you, chucking his Coke in the grass.
“I stopped being scared of snakes a long time ago Dallas Winston.” You kept walking.
“You always had a weak spot for me y/n.”
Then he smiled that ridiculously perfect and insanely annoying smile. And you didn’t know if you wanted to hit him or kiss him more. So, you opted for the former, because the fact that kissing the idiot came to mind made you feel even angrier at him.
“Are you fucking kidding me y/n?!” He yelled holding his now bloody nose.
“No, I’m not kidding. You don’t get to do this, you don’t get to judge me. You made your choice and I made mine, just because you can’t live with yours doesn’t mean you should make me feel bad for living with mine.” You yelled turning and walking away.
You went on your miserable date with Tim. You knew you were dating him for all the wrong reasons but you didn’t care. You were walking back to the Curtis’s and stopped at the porch when you heard the boys talking. Since only the screen door was closed you could hear very clearly.
“Do you miss her?” Ponyboy asked. With his three words, your heart broke.
“All the time.” Dally said.
“Then go get her. What are you doin? She loves ya man.” You heard Soda.
You leaned against the wall of the house just listening, not even breathing.
“She don’t love me. She’s ain’t that stupid.”
You let out the breath you’ve been holding, putting your hand over your mouth. You straightened yourself out and breathed walking into the house to end their conversation.
“So what’s your guys’ plan for tonight?” you stared at all of them sitting on the couches and the floor.
“Well we leave at night and you stay here with the first aid kit.” Darry shrugged his shoulders.
“I’m not waiting here.” You furrowed your brows
“Yeah, you are.” Everyone said at the same time.
“That is so not fair you’re even letting Pony go.” You defended.
“No y/n. Us getting our asses kicked is one thing. You getting yours is another.” Soda shook his head.
“I mean clearly she can throw a punch.” Steve laughed.
“Whatever.” You sighed walking away.
“I’m way too sober for this shit.” Dally mumbled getting up and walking out the house.
All of the boys were hyping each other up before running out for the rumble.
You were worried sick to your stomach. After about thirty minutes you decided to go and watch the rumble from the sidelines. The boys couldn’t be mad about that and that was the only way you were gonna feel better about this. You made your way there and you could hear the yelling.
As you walked up to the field you could see each one of the gang fighting. You held your breath and every time you watched one of the boys get punched you felt like it was you taking the blow instead.
You couldn’t help but watch Dallas. He didn’t get hit much but when he did it hurt you bad. You didn’t know if you could watch anymore when all of a sudden you saw the Soc that Dally was fighting pull something out of his back pocket.
You felt all of the air leave your lungs as you screamed when you saw Dally fall to the ground. Everyone turned to you when they heard you scream. Everyone was looking at you, but you didn’t care. You ran to him anyways.
The Socs all ran when they realized what happened. You fell when you got to Dally, grabbing his head and holding it on your thighs. He was bleeding heavily and you kept trying to stop the bleeding but there was too much and you couldn’t calm down.
You were crying so hard that you actually couldn’t catch a breath looking down at your only love bleeding like that. Dally didn’t even seem concerned with the bleeding because he kept reaching up to grab your face and arms ”Please baby don’t cry.”. It didn’t stop the panic running through you though.
The boys called an ambulance and you refused to move Dally, scared he would bleed too much. You kept talking to Dally making sure he was talking back. Trying to keep him awake and attempting not to break down.
“I’m sorry you’re not comfy I know my thighs aren’t too comfy.” You giggled sadly.
“It’s perfect baby. I get to see you, I’m with you.” He sighed, smiling softly.
“I know it hurts Dally” you cried some more.
“It doesn’t hurt that bad.” He breathed even though his face was white and twisted with pain.
“Just squeeze my hand okay.” You sniffled. Dally chuckled grabbing your hand but every once in a while, squeezed it really tight. You never said anything, you just let him.
You and all of the boys were sitting in the hospital while Dally was in surgery. They cleaned all of the other boys up who only had a few cuts and bruises.
“I can’t believe you’re finally taking him back.” Darry looked to you.
“I’m with him. For better or for worse.” You smiled shrugging at him
“You know it’ll probably get worse.” He raised his brows at you.
“Yeah. But I already knew that the day I met him.” You gave him a sad smile.
“These hospital bills really aren’t gonna be funny.” Darry sighed, rubbing his jaw.
“Check your black winter jacket pocket when you get home.” You smirked.

The New Girl in Town- Sodapop Curtis x Reader Chapter 7: A Soda For Soda
Tumblr media
chapter 6
It was getting dark out and Soda told you he was going to put on a movie for the two of you so you volunteered to make you guys popcorn. “Soda do you want anything to drink?” you called from the kitchen. You and Soda have had a couple beers and since you both didn’t really drink, you were both fairly tipsy.
“Uh, yeah a Cola from the fridge.” He called back.
You went over to the fridge grabbing two sodas. “A soda for Soda. I'm never gonna get used to that.” You giggled to yourself.
“Used to what?” Soda walked in making you jump.
“Jesus Soda you scared me.” You giggled making him laugh. “I was saying I’m never going to get used to you drinking something you're named after.” You giggled pulling the popcorn off of the stove to let it cool.
Soda laughed as he walked behind you and grabbed your waist. “Would you like to call me somethin else? I can talk Steve into switchin his name.” he grinned making you laugh.
You turned around and leaned against the counter looking up at him. “No. I like Sodapop. It’s interesting. Like you.” You smirked.
“Oh, you think I’m interesting?” He grinned down at you making you laugh.
“I think you're something that’s for sure.” You giggled wrapping your arms around his neck.
“I think you're somethin too.” He whispered, his features becoming serious. You held your breath, the closeness and intensity of Soda making you slightly nervous. “I know I haven’t told you a whole lot bout me.” He swallowed. “But I wanna. I like you y/n.” he whispered. You stared into his eyes, still not able to find the words to respond. “I'm not normally this nervous or insecure when I say these kinds of things but you not saying anything is kinda freakin me out y/n.” he gave a nervous laugh.
You shook your head, taking you out of your trance. “Sorry. I just- I didn’t think coming here I would meet someone so soon. You know? I came here for a fresh start. To figure out who I am.” You said slowly.
Sodas pursed his lips and nodded his head, stepping back so you were no longer touching. “I get it.” You furrowed your brows. “I'm sorry I came on so strong.” He laughed sadly.
“No Soda.” You let out a small laugh, shaking your head, “I was gonna say.” You stepped towards him, putting your hands on his chest making him look at you. “I'm happy I get to figure out who I am with someone as amazing as you to help me.” You smiled up at him.
Soda shook his head smiling down at you. “I've had girlfriends before don’t get me wrong. I've even been in love before.” He shook his head slowly. “But I don’t think I've ever been so happy.”
You smiled up at him, reaching your hands up to grab the back of his neck and pull him down into a kiss. Soda began to kiss you back, reaching down and holding the small of your back to pull you closer to him. He backed you into the counter, never once breaking the kiss, you stood on your tiptoes attempting to get closer. The kiss intensified as you tugged on his shirt to pull him closer and he reached down briefly sliding his hands over your butt to grab your thighs and lift you onto the counter so you were both closer in height.
You wrapped your legs around Soda and kept pulling him in even though you couldn’t have gotten any closer, and Soda slowly played with the skin on your hips where your shirt was beginning to rise. Soda disconnected your lips to move down to the skin on your neck, making you moan slightly. You breathed, not sure if the beer from earlier was making you feel so lightheaded or if it was how close Soda was to you. Soda pulled away, the both of you breathing heavily, staring at each other.
“Do you wanna go to the couch?” Soda whispered, still rubbing circles on your hips. You nodded, not trusting yourself to speak as Soda stared at you so intensely. Soda leaned over and locked you into another kiss as he slid his hands to your thighs sweeping you up. You wrapped your legs around his waist making it easier to carry you through the kitchen into the living room. You deepened the kiss, careful not to throw him off balance as he walked over to the couch and laid you down gently.
You could feel the alcohol buzzing through your system and every touch was like little shocks going through you. You were buzzing, completely high off of Soda. He never broke the kiss as you were laid on the couch and he slowly climbed on top of you. You wrapped your legs around his waist, pulling him down closer to you as you ran your fingers through his hair. He never styled it after getting out of the shower earlier so it was soft and easy to touch.
Soda inched his touch up your stomach painfully slow, making your shirt rise slowly. You swiveled your hips causing a small moan to escape Soda’s lips, making your buzzed sensation double. Soda continued to raise your shirt until he got to the underwire of your bra. He stopped to look from your shirt to you as if silently asking permission. You stared at him, your breaths coming out short and quick to try and make up for lost air. You swallowed and slowly nodded your head, letting Soda slowly rise your shirt over your head.
He sucked in a breath at the view of your white lace bra. You bit your lip watching his reaction until he moved back into kissing you. The kiss was passionate and full of lust, but his hands never quickened their pace, as if he was mapping every inch of skin. He moved to kiss on your neck as you tugged on his shirt. He moved off you but only long enough to strip himself of his shirt. You pulled him back into a kiss, feeling every space of skin you could. Your fingertips tingled every time you ran them over his hot skin.
Soda moved down to kiss your neck, inching his way down your chest. His hands slowly gravitated to the waistband of your jeans. Just as he looked to you to see your reaction when he tickled the skin above your pant line, you let out a hiccup.
Your eyes got wide and you threw your hands over your mouth, stifling a giggle. Soda, on the other hand, started to giggle uncontrollably.
“It’s not *hiccup* funny!” You threw your head back laughing with Soda at your now- uncontrollable hiccups. Soda shook his head laughing with you when you heard the door open.
“Guys we got burgers for- Oh my God.” Darry’s eyes got wide at the sight of you and Soda shirtless on the couch with Soda on top of you.
“Whats goin on?” You heard Pony’s voice, your eyes getting wide in terror of Soda’s brothers seeing you like this.
“Pony stay out there!” Darry frantically shut the door as you and Soda quickly tried to find your clothes.
When you both finally found your shirts and slipped them on, you turned to Soda to see him biting his lip trying to stifle his laugh. “It's not funny!” you smacked his arm but started to laugh at the situation yourself.
“Oh my God I'm never gonna hear the end of this.” Soda smiled shaking his head as he stood up from the couch.

“Shut the hell up! Just shut up!” your mother screamed from the bedroom.
“You stupid bitch!” You heard a crash, something shattering and more yelling and curses spewing.
You sat on the couch trying to watch the television screen when all of a sudden you heard a thud and a loud scream come from your mother. Your breath hitched in your throat, your eyes wide at the sounds. You felt nauseous knowing what was going on in there but knowing there was nothing you could do about it. The last time you got involved you walked away with more bruises than clear skin.
You listened as your mother screamed and stood up quickly slipping on your converse before running out the door. You couldn't stand to listen to it any longer.
You ran the entire way down the road, hiccupping and tears blurring your vision but you never slow down. A night like tonight was nothing new in your household and you’ve become fairly numb to it, but tonight it felt like it did when the first time it happened.
You ran for what seemed like forever, your sides burned and you felt like you might puke any moment but you didn’t stop until you got to where you were going.
You made your way up the steps of the house, slamming hard on the door so you would be heard over the music and quickly wiped your face before Buck opened the door. “What?” he looked down at you, swaying from whatever the hell he put in his body to numb out.
“I need Dallas.” You put on a tough face. Buck will do whatever you want if you act tough, everyone knows it.
“Upstairs.” He opened the door for you. You and Dallas have always been close friends. The closest out of everyone. You weren’t sure why, you just were. So, your appearance here wasn’t a first. You moved into the house, the temperature immediately rising from outside due to the bodies scattered around.
You ran up the stairs and to Dallas’ designated bedroom, pounding on the door. “What the- Y/N?” Dallas scrunched his forehead at the sight of you, which you were sure wasn’t pretty.
You started to explain everything, but your sobs and hiccups clouded the words making them completely lost. “Slow down won't ya? Just get in here.” Dallas opened the door wider for you to step inside.
You turned to him taking in a deep breath, full intent on calmly telling him everything when you lost it. You sobbed even harder, gasping to catch a breath when Dallas grabbed you by the shoulders and pulled you into his chest. Dallas was never a real affectionate person, so it took you by surprise when he rubbed your hair in an attempt to calm you down. “Come on, sit.” He whispered walking you over to the bed and taking a seat, pulling you back into his embrace.
You sat and cried for a few more minutes until you finally calmed down, the realization of the situation hits you making you feel slightly embarrassed. “Wanna tell me whats goin on now?” he whispered, never breaking your embrace.
You rubbed your nose and took a deep breath, “My parents were fighting again.” You sat up to look at him, tears and snot surely running down your face from your meltdown. “I know it’s stupid and that they always fight but,” you shook your head slowly trying to not get choked up again “I could hear him beatin on her and the way she screamed.” You sobbed as Dallas pulled you back into his chest, shushing you softly.
“I’m sorry Dally I didn’t mean to ruin your night,” you hiccupped “I just didn’t know where else to go.”
“Don’t worry bout it, you didn’t ruin nothing. Why don’t ya get some sleep huh? You can stay here tonight.” He spoke into your hair. You sniffled, nodding your head as he let go of you and stood up from the bed, making his way over to a dingy dresser and pulled out a plain black tee shirt and a pair of boxers.
“Here, go on and get changed.” He handed you the clothes before stepping out of the room.
You stood up, stripping yourself of your clothes and stepping into the outfit that you practically drowned in. You climbed into the bed that was still warm with Dallas’ body heat from him laying down in it when you heard the door open.
Dallas walked over to the edge of the bed taking a seat as you slipped your legs under the covers. “You ok?” You nodded giving him a sad smile.
He nodded and turned to stand up, stopping when you caught his arm. “Stay with me tonight? Please.” You whispered.
Dallas stared at you for a moment with an expression you couldn’t quite figure out but eventually, he nodded and climbed next to you in the bed, already in what he considered sleep attire from earlier, and laid next to you.

You walked through the house, your heels clicking against the tile. “Steve!” You called as you struggled to get your earring on.
“What?” You heard him call from outside. You made your way outside, standing on the porch watching him working on Two-Bit’s car that never seems to work.
“I’m goin.” You stepped down the porch making him turn to you and furrow his brows.
“Where ya goin again.” He stared at you, his eyes moving up and down your body.
“Out with Angela remember?” You raised your brow at him.
“You really gotta wear that?” He stared at you. You furrowed your brows and looked down at your simple black dress and heels.
“Whats wrong with it?” You looked back up at him.
“It’s uh-“ he shook his head stepping over to you “Its just a lot.”
“How is it a lot? it's just a dress.” you chuckled.
“Yeah” he nodded slowly. “but that’s quite a dress.” He shook his head.
You chuckled at him, as he grabbed your waist you wrapped your arms around his neck looking up at him. “You're somethin. Now I gotta get goin.” You gave him a quick peck before pulling away.
“Woah Woah” he tugged on your arm making you go right back to him. “You're not seriously going in that are ya?”
“Yeah?”
“To a bar? With Angela?” he crunched his forehead making you laugh.
“I’ll be fine. I love you I gotta go.”
You stumbled your way to the door, falling into it slightly due to the alcohol running through you. You kept twisting the handle trying to get the door to open until eventually, it did, making you go falling through it and landing right into your boyfriend. “Jesus y/n” Steve held you up making you giggle.
“Hey you.” You smiled up at him.
“You look a little drunk.” He smirked down at you.
“You do too.” You scrunched your brows up at him “Why are you drunk?”
“Two-Bit came over.” You nodded your head before letting go of him and stumbling into the kitchen. You started digging through the cabinets looking for something to snack on when you felt a pair of hands on your waist. “I can't believe you wore this out.” You straightened up and turned to face Steve.
“You don’t like it?” you tilted your head, frowning slightly.
“Oh, I like it.” He smirked making you laugh.
“Maybe I should wear it more often then.” You smirked wrapping your arms around his neck as he pressed you against the counter.
“Or” he smirked rubbing circles into your hips making your body tingle “You could just take it off.” You giggled up at him as he moved down to kiss you. Due to the alcohol buzzing through your veins and the closeness of each other, the kiss heated up quickly. Steve moved his hands down over your butt painfully slow, until eventually reaching the back of your thighs. Every place his fingertips brushed felt like sparks of electricity shooting through your skin. He hooked his hands on your thighs, hoisting you up onto the counter.
You pulled him to stand in between your thighs, trying to pull him as close as possible to you. Steve moved to kiss on your neck, making you roll your head back in pure ecstasy. You tugged on his button down, not wanting to waste any more time. His hands slowly slid your dress up, your skin coming into view inches at a time.
You tugged his shirt off making him break the contact with your neck for a few seconds before he grabbed your thighs pulling you up to straddle his waist. He walked slowly, never breaking the kiss, towards the bedroom before dropping you on to the bed making you let out a small shriek.
Your fingers tangle in Steve’s hair, shivers running down your spine at the feeling of his breath on your neck. He lets out a groan as you tug on his dark hair. He runs his hands up your body until he reaches your neck, his nails scratching slightly at the column of your throat. He moved his legs using his knee to spread your thighs. He sucked on your neck, biting lightly and you know you’ll wake up with a bruise or two in the morning.
He uses one hand to hold himself up keeping his weight off of you and moves the other down over your hips to the hem of your little black dress, sliding the ends up around your waist. You feel dizzy at every touch, intoxicated by more than the alcohol.
Steve presses his hips into yours, and you start to grind into him causing him to groan before moving from your neck to your lips, capturing you in another heated kiss. His hand is gripping your waist, his nails digging indents into your skin.
He grips on the waistband of your underwear and tugs the material down your pointed feet, before he slowly traces up your thigh, his fingertips touching your heat. You breathe out Steve’s name as he brushes your clit with his thumb before he slips a finger into your entrance. Steve returns his face to the crook of your neck where he begins to leave more marks as his fingers work.
He feels your thighs begin to shake and pulls away much to your dismay. but you waste no time as you quickly work to unbutton and unzip his jeans removing the clothing speedily. Steve quickly moves up to completely remove the clothing from his legs and grabs a condom from the night table next to you, as he's working the condom on you quickly remove the dress, leaving you completely vulnerable.
Steve’s lips are on you once more, his fingers dipping into your hipbone before lining himself with your entrance. You gripped his biceps tightly, your nails digging into his skin as he fully enters you. He shifts slightly making you gasp, both of your chest heaving and eyes are screwed shut.
Steve follows your moans as motivation and thrust his hips into yours. He watches as toss your head back at the feeling, he lets out a heavy breath as he slams his hips into yours making you gasp. He moves his hands to the base of your throat, his fingers applying no pressure as he continues his movements.
You groan into him as his he starts to apply pressure to your neck, making you groan more at the feeling of his rough skin. Your mouth is open but you can't get any words out from the feeling of his hand on your neck and his hips slamming into yours. You tug roughly at his hair, your eyes rolling back.
Steve watches as you come undone beneath him, and groans at the feeling. You can feel him picking up his pace, his thrust getting sloppier indicating he’s close himself. It doesn’t take him more than a minute to come undone, him letting out a groan before falling on top of you.
You both laid there, tangled in each other covered in sweat and breathing heavily. You ran your hand up and down his back, scratching the skin softly as he gently played with the strands of your hair.  “You should really wear that dress more often.” He mumbles into your shoulder blade making you giggle.
