hi! as someone accepting/questioning being a wolf, I’d love to hear about how you discovered it for yourself and how you knew that it was physical and biological rather than mental. I want to live in the taiga, raise pups, have a mate, hunt, etc as a wolf. I am also miscecanis and plural. I feel like I exist in my head on some level beyond physical body lol. although it’s been hard to accept, I think it means I am a wolf rather than otherhearted. anyway. I’ve also been thinking about the label “werewolf” not as in human -> wolf/beast transformation, but like.. By society I am classified as human biologically and look human, but I am a wolf. also since sometimes my feelings of being a wolf grow stronger or lesser. sometimes I am more so other animals. I’m not sure if it makes sense! idk I’m rambling. do u have any thoughts?

It definitely makes sense! I appreciate you sharing your thoughts with me. I apologize if my answer isn't exactly up to par, it's early here and I'm not very good with my words in the mornings.

I do believe a lot of what you're feeling could be related to your plurality, but you could also be polytherian. Maybe both. Perhaps different alters have different theriotypes.

Regardless, I'll answer your original questions.

When I was younger (as young as six years old, if I recall correctly), I always had more nonhuman traits than humanly ones. As I grew, I learned to mask these traits to avoid being bullied by my peers.

One day, while I was in a Discord server with some friends, I met a creature named Icarus. He was an older elk therian, probably around twenty to twenty two years old. He told me his story and I related to it. Heavily.

So, I did some research. I learned about therians, the different terms, and the community. After a month of self reflection, I came to the conclusion that all of my traits and behaviors mirrored that of wolves.

The next struggle was figuring out how exactly I identified with wolves. For a while, I chalked it up to delusion and mentality, but, with time, I learned about physical therianthropy. That felt right. I was always a wolf, physically, mentally, and biologically. It just took me a great deal of time to realize it.

Are you color-blind (Or well, for what a creature with a human body like me would see as color-blind) like other wolves? Or are you a trichromat? (I think it is possible that there are trichromatic wolves, as there are tetrachromatic humans)

I am dichromatic whenever I fully shift. Otherwise, I am trichromatic. 🐾

Was being a wolf something you've always known?

I'd say so. If not specifically a wolf, I always knew I was a canine of some sort. I'd love to get into my early signs of therianthropy if anycreature is interested.

I always prefer napping in a big ol' clearing surrounded by tall trees. That spot where the light hits jussst right and makes the place feel unreal.

honestly I know kink can be controversial among the therian community but low-key. It can be so affirming in a totally nonsexual way. Like...here is a massive community of people willing to treat me like WHATEVER animal I like. I just went to a petplay panel last night and the speaker was talking about how she knew an octopus. A hawk. A crustacean. A FIRE ELEMENTAL!!

Yu can genuinely be yourself. I can be a horse and pull heavy weight like I feel like I was meant to. I can be a wolf and wrestle with other canines and yip and howl. Someone would probably be chill with me being a stingray if I wanted to.

Just AUGHHHHH obviously it's only accessible to those 18+ which is why it's a bit more exclusionary given the ratio of minors to adults in the therian community, but for those who can partake, I highly recommend. Just like therianthropy, you don't need gear, you just need a willingness to embrace a mindset.

The more mutuals I get, the more I feel like I'm having a pack or flock. Some feel wilder, others more domesticated. Perhaps a bit of both.

question regarding your harmful paras post,, i completely get why you wouldnt support them, but what if they dont act and are completely anti contact? just curious to know what you think

Most paraphiles (aside from the “big three”) are just fine, but it is important to remember that some can fall under the paraphilic disorder category. Even if someone is “anti-contact”, they need to seek out professional help. Thought crimes are not real, no, but such thoughts could potentially lead to harmful behaviors and/or suicidal ideation.

There are ways to work around these paraphilias in controlled environments that are shared between two fully consenting adults with boundaries, safe words, and trust. For example, an alternative for recovering MAPs would likely be ageplay. For zoophiles, perhaps petplay. For necrophiles, somnophilia or temporary sedation.

This is a safe space for recovering/recovered, non-offending zoophiles, MAPs, and necrophiles. This is NOT a safe space for anti-recovery folks or anyone who has sexually abused an animal, child, or corpse.
