As Yoruichi has stated, there were quite a number of students among them. Giving them all something generic and similar didn't feel like a smart idea regardless, and deep down she did wish to give them something more personal, something that they all would feel inclined to keep and hold onto. The mention of the goat made her almost laugh out loud, seemingly forgetting about the animal. Maybe she should get something for him too, even if the rest of them may not take it too personal.
"Yes, there is. His name is Tiko. As for the others..." Miorine was ready to begin her thought process, but stopped with another one of Yoruichi's comment, and this time it being about her nickname.
Tumblr media
"What?" Her first reaction was to not tell her at all, but at the same time, would that even stop her? Actually, she didn't think the woman would constantly badger her for an answer, that much was obvious by now. After a few more seconds to herself, Miorine tilted her head as her eyes focused on the trinkets.
"...Mio Mio. I immediately told her no on the name. She even had backup ones, but I didn't let her finish" Miorine could only imagine whatever names she had for her outside of that embarrassing one.
"Her nickname choices don't help with gift picking, does it?"
The young woman sighed.
"She might be the easiest one to get something for. You know Suletta as well though, so that makes it better. As for the others, I'll have to give specific details about." Which wasn't much of a problem to begin with.
Yoruichi gave an approving hum in response to the first reply, duly noting the continuing first name basis Miorine was on with Suletta. It had been consistent in their journey together so far, and so she silently took that as yet further permission to drop the 'Holder' title and refer to Suletta more by her given name too. If Miorine noticed the gradual change and said something, Yoruichi'd just say she was following her lead, since they were going to be working together after all.
The next reply had her letting out a grunt of agreement, and she sagely nodded as well. Her brows lifted some as Miorine trailed off before she realized it was a matter of crowd navigation that was really the cause. She followed along easily, seeming to have no greater issue with dodging and weaving that she had earlier with forcing her way through a crowd by sheer presence.
Once they were practically at the shopfront and her charge finally finished her thought, she let out another hum, although this one was rather more contemplative. "There are less than a dozen of them, aren't there?" she inquired, knowing full well there were nine: Suletta, Chuatury, Martin, Aliya, Till, Nika, Nuno, Ojelo, and Lilique. "I think something unique would be better. It's no secret that you come from a well-to-do background," that was rather underselling it, of course, "so they likely wouldn't object to you spending just a little more—although keeping it reasonable so as not to seem like you're trying to buy them off is prudent—and a personal touch shows leadership that cares."
Tumblr media
She considered the store's wares from outside alongside Miorine as she spoke, thoughts already forming in her mind as she did so. "... Isn't there also a goat?" she asked off-handedly, before shaking her head a little as though to shoo the thought away. "Anyway, why don't you tell me a little about each of them? That might help. Oh, that reminds me: earlier you said Suletta had tried to give you a nickname?" She gently chuckled, before conspiratorially asking, "What was it?"
Even as she talked, she was already coming up with gift possibilities from what she herself knew of the students in Earth House—she had done most of her homework in advance, after all... If they got any plants, cacti might be good for public spaces to deter that goat from eating them, as hydrangeas and azaleas were usually avoided but toxic if eaten; perhaps succulents for personal spaces...

There was no guarantee that Miorine would even find something she found suitable enough to give to everyone. Actually, did she know what they liked? Their preferences? She spent time with them, but a good amount of it was in relation to the company, so that didn't classify as getting to know each other, did it?
Yoruichi offering to help her with gifts was actually reassuring, though it would be embarrassing to admit she didn't seem to know her own friends that well.
"Well, my thoughts was for all of them, including Suletta." It didn't seem wise to give them all different things, but giving them all the same didn't feel unique or special either. As they walked, Miorine looking back and forth between her notebook and their surroundings, she let out a small chuckle.
"Are you? I may need your help then. I'm not sure what this shop exactly offers, but getting your opinion would be appreciated. So let me ask this..."
Miorine could see the shop that appeared first, taking advantage of the gaps and spaces between people to get there rather quickly so they could stop having to dodge and weave between them.
"...given how many of them there is, do you think giving them all the same type of gift would be wise? Or should I dare try and give them something unique for each, even if it's something small?"
She didn't want to play favorites, even if somewhere in her mind she thought about giving something to Suletta different entirely if anything was worthy of catching her eye, but she quickly shoved that thought further down. As she took a peek inside the store, she could see a lot of handmade trinkets, but there could be other things like minerals, any type of stones or maybe even seeds for people to plant.
And with Yoruichi here and asking for her input, maybe she would also point out something that Miorine wouldn't notice.
Watching Miorine think out loud (at least partially) had Yoruichi's casual attention. While she obviously had no idea what the younger woman was actually thinking, observing how somebody went about their thought process was still fairly informative. If she was going to be working for Miorine as a kind of... troubleshooter, or bodyguard even... then being familiar with how she processed things was only prudent and sensible.
The agreement with the suggestion she'd offered up was interesting unto itself, and for the moment she decided not to interject with her own thoughts or questions, so as not to interfere in the process unfolding before her. There was plenty of time in the future for polluting the data in all kinds of fun ways!
It was only after Miorine had produced and consulted her own notebook, then solicited further input, that she piped up by at first merely saying, "Just fine by me." With a slightly playful smile, she turned and started to lead the way out of the restaurant with their leftovers in tow.
She saved her questions for when they were outside, after briefly assessing the crowd. It had thinned out some as the hour grew later—according to the Coordinated Universal Time the fronts ran on, anyway. Still, it wasn't that late, merely mid-evening; she imagined many of their fellow tourists were in restaurants or bars at the moment.
With the lay of the land determined, she leaned back to look at the screen of Miorine's notebook for the sake of her own sense of direction, before gesturing for her charge to take the lead. She'd follow alongside at an easy pace.
Tumblr media
"So, what do you have it in mind to look for? Something for Earth House as a whole, or perhaps for the Holder?" she asked quite breezily, immediately adding, "I'm pretty good at gift-giving ideas, if you'd like some tips!"
She left off Miorine herself as she didn't seem very materialistic, and Yoruichi imagined this place probably wouldn't have that much of interest to her that couldn't also be found on Front Sector 73. Then again, who knew? It was an industrial front, so maybe they'd have... what? Gemstones or minerals from Earth or something? What else might the lass be drawn to? She found she couldn't really immediately guess. Getting to watch her shop was probably going to prove interesting unto itself...
... But then, meddling in the process just a little ought to be as well

"Oh, well...that is possible."
Tumblr media
Suletta didn't know much about the school and even if it was rather fancy and looks very well maintenance, it didn't mean that there weren't a few missed spots here and there.
"It's a well known school, I'm sure for quite a long time. But I'm not entirely sure on how old it is, or how long its been up..."
After a few more seconds to herself, she looked back at the duel as well. One of them was finally getting the upper hand on the other, seeing the end getting rather close.
"I don't think it's that old though. Ah, they're almost done!"
The second an opening was made, the mobile suit cut off the antenna of the other, the winner's name and group being showcased on the large screen.
"That's normally how the duels go. As the Holder, I do get requests to duel a lot. It can be...a bit tiring, ehe."
Philia looks to the right at the sound of the rail clanging. Ah, it was probably Ver being curious like always. Addressing Suletta, she turns her head back to her and shakes it. "No, I didn't!" But since she clearly couldn't see it, why not toy with her for a bit...
"Maybe the railing's getting old or something. Ah, speaking of which, how old is this place anyway?" She inquires, eyes sparkling as she finds herself glued right back onto the fight, unsure whether to cheer or not, but still feeling the adrenaline take over her all the same.
