had an 8:30am dentist appointment . sat in the waiting room with a huge tv playing a game show called "the quiz with balls" at a stupid loud volume, then was trapped in the dental hygienist's chair for an hour while she told me about wellness and "all of god's creatures" with christian rock and hgtv playing in the background. a nightmare experience built for me.
#these city kids and their adhd#my old dentist was just a single country music station and the same woman asking the same questions for 25 years#these new people are very nice but my god please turn something off#wyrmgarden.txt

one of my favorite things about veterinary offices in dallas is when they have little paw shaped pride stickers in the window.

what'd it be like if we just stopped killing everybody? what if we weren't forced to fund murder? what would that world look like?

hey i need you change that appointment you've had on the calendar for 6 months, but like, last minute. i've known about your appointment for a whole month, but it's kind of inconveniencing my impulse decisions and if i don't get my way i'll ruin everyone else's week too. thanks!
how do you stop a man from casually undermining all of your decisions? kill him? is it killing him?

If we are to truly reach a moment where we might be finished with England cleared away to make room for something else there most certainly lies a dark moment between here and there. A moment of terror where everything appears to be without hope. I know this.

"gambling addiction" is kind of like if people regularly opened pits with spikes at the bottom in public areas and made lots of money from people falling into the pit and so they started greasing the edges and putting these pits in every public space and lobbying to be allowed to install them in people's homes and when someone fell into the greased spike pit in their house they said "oh thats so tragic, they had an addiction to deadly spikes, we obviously support everyone having a safe and healthy responsible relationship with the greased spike pits we're building"

you know, when i was a teenager i had all these thoughts on the kinds of interesting jobs i could have (concert/tour photographer, travel photographer, full-time writer, filmmaker, book/record store owner) that really just were ripped completely out of reach by the time i was adult enough to build a career because everything must profit.
anyway, i hear chatgpt turns your brain to soup.

✨ a film for every year of my life ✨ | High Fidelity (2000) dir. Stephen Frears
The making of a great compilation tape, like breaking up, is hard to do and takes ages longer than it might seem. You gotta kick off with a killer, to grab attention. Then you got to take it up a notch, but you don’t wanna blow your wad, so then you got to cool it off a notch. There are a lot of rules. Anyway, I’ve started to make a tape, in my head, for Laura. Full of stuff she likes. Full of stuff that make her happy. For the first time I can sort of see how that is done.
