Jack and Janet Drake haunt me. It's haunting to me that Tim, hearing his parents were missing, went and stood in front of Jason's memorial case and reflected that maybe being Robin required loss of this nature. Maybe to be Batman's partner, the baptismal fire you must go through is the loss of any other safety net. Then Jack lived, and over and over Tim hallucinates him finding out about Robin and setting reasonable boundaries up but in the end what he gets is a dead dad as well.
