when they moved in together Andrew was all uncaring and uninterested, giving neil the task of buying furniture if he wanted more than a bed

only for him to drive Neil to the store and shoot him disapproving glances at every wrong pick, eyes hard enough that Neil would give up on the orange sofa, put back the weird vase, cancel the order of Palmetto Foxes blanket. that's also how he forgot all about the idea of exy themed products and decorations

Neil would see right through the illusion of choice pretty quick, alternating between picking the most outrageous things to win Andrew's glare (its a reward for him) and running his hands over the options of towels until Andrew's frown softened as Neil's hand stopped in the black one, then grab it with a found little smile

andrew: i dont. i just know you don't really want this shade of brown for our cabinets

neil was number three, Andrew had no doubt, yet he picked number four.

When the cops let Neil go, Andrew was outside the police station smoking and waiting to finally give his number to the hot guy he saw committing murder

but if we are talking about Kevin's perfect court maybe the book will start with his hand getting broken, so that he will run away and find Andrew. the book could end with them watching Neil's tape from hs. because jean, andrew and neil are Kevin's, never Riko's

i love neil spoiling Andrew rotten, not only buying stuff for him (like a car) but doing stuff for him:

breakfast in bed because andrew thinks that mornings are too cold, and coffee warms him up so neil makes sure he doesn't have to leave his warm bed before his hot coffee

carrying andrew on his back when they are coming back from hicking because andrew gets really tired

going to fight with a whole restaurant because andrew's order came wrong. he got a restaurant closed because of this (if it one anyone else's food he would just frown and say, it's all food, just eat it)

making sure to always wash andrew's favorite clothes sooner than the others because it's his favorites!! neil cant let Andrew without them

learning how to bake andrew's favorite desserts even of it takes years and manyy burnt stuff

and more than that. ANDREW GETTING USED TO IT!!!!

after idk, 20 years, he will just stare at his plate of food and frown like --- why is not cut into little pieces?! He doesn't understand

he will wake neil up because "its five in the morning. i wanna breakfast. its not tok early, neil, im hungry". he doesn't even think anymore, its physically impossible for his body to leave the bed before breakfast

he getting literally surprised because he got home earlier than neil and theres no cupcakes waiting for him

neil brought a brand of cookies that comes with less chocolate? oh my god andrew almost DIED. he felt disgusted. he kneeled down in front of the toilet because he really thought he was going to throw up

neil forgot his cookies???? andrew just tilted his head, confused, looking at the bags and ---- zero cookies? he couldn't even react because he didn't know how

there was all that cliche of a mom seeing her son truly happy for the first time. cheeks flushed, eyes bright, smile easy. that wasn't what made mary change her mind about Andrew, she is not biased and weak minded like other moms

in the past, mary had warned abram again and again about girls, because of course men were dangerous and vicious but -- a woman could disarm you with a smile only

she didn't expect it AT ALL abram's partner to be a boy. a tiny boy. a tiny blond boy.

of course, the only thing she knew was to run. mary had been a runner her whole life: she would run away from her feelings, from love, from her enemies, from herself. in the end she was slightly proud that Abram learned by himself how to (and when to) stop running

Mary wasn't happy per say, it wasn't comfortable to see her son vulnerable like that. but abram was content, well fed, safe.

mary took it upon herself to learn everything about this Andrew guy. she didn't spend years running away, pulling abram behind old cars to escape bullets, eating from cans and drinking unfiltered tap water only to lose her son to a blond guy

like she would understand if it had been a blond woman with a killing smile. oh, yeah, mary knew the danger of looking at a blond woman for too long. lust drives you crazy, your heart can't take it

Andrew didn't talk much when they met, which irked Mary in all the wrong ways. she had a list of things she would hate about him ready: he was dating her son, he was too small to protect her son, he bites more than he can chew, he carried knives when mary dedicated her life to ensure that Abram would stay far, far away from sharp blades

he was stubborn, ignorant, did everything his way as if his will was more important - not selfish, just unyielding and ruthless

Andrew didn't care about mary's approval, she tried to intimidate him and had to hear him saying "you're going to punch me like your punched your son?" after every single threat, question or demand she made

stupid, stupid boy who would do anything for her son. mary is not opposed to that, she won't kill him. for now. she will even get him a cake.

(also Bee was really cute, Mary wouldn't want to be on her bad side)
