in your opinion did yuuki choose zero and reject kaname

Not at all.

Yuki chose to remember Kaname. To keep him in her heart, to always miss his presence in her life, to honor his dying wish. Kaname was an extremely important person in her life, one she was practically attached to since birth. It's unfair and cruel to assume she'd get over him even after a thousand years.

Yuki chose to be with Zero because ultimately, if the roles were reversed between Kaname and Zero and it was Zero frozen in carbonite, she'd never would have gotten over him either. Because even though Zero entered her life much later on, their bond was forged through blood (literally) and fire (metaphorically). She cannot live without him either.

There's a scene in the manga, where Kaname confronts Yuki about her mixed feelings and she confesses that as much as she craves Kaname's blood, she also thirsts for Zero's, and thus, is never truly satisfied.

Yuki genuinely, unequivocally loves and wants BOTH Kaname and Zero. That is CANON. Are both relationships tainted with unhealthy dynamics and excessive guilt, at least in the original series? Absofuckinglutely, but I would argue that eventually things equal out with the Yuki/Zero relationship and they become a stronger, healthier couple as a whole.... But that's a whole other kettle of fish. It does NOT invalidate the Kaname/Yuki ship or relationship in canon, contrary to what shippers on both sides may think.

(But I still think that Kaname/Yuki has the more toxic relationship between the two ships..... But again. That's a whole discussion.)

Unpopular opinion (and potential hot take), but I actually think Vampire Knight did love triangles RIGHT. Typically, love triangles are more about the tension of "will they won't they," and a rival that stirs the pot by tempting the person caught in the middle. But Vampire Knight shows three people who are so utterly connected to each other, and how one girl bonded with the two men so irrevocably, that it's nearly impossible to know what the outcome will be before you reach the ending. To me, most media that feature "love triangles" are not actually "love triangles" at all, but rather "delayed singular romance with some obstacles in the way -- even if only one persistent one."

Vampire Knight is THE definition of "love triangle." (It's why I don't blame people for shipping Kaname/Zero lol because the tension is HIGH all around!)

But yes, even marriage with Zero does not erase Yuki's memories and love for Kaname. It simply means she did not fade away or kill herself with longing; she chose to keep living, to keep loving, and to keep fighting.
