Playing that scene in the dungeon was completely in character for Xion. I know people have said, “but, where did that come from?” To which I would answer, “have you ever been a 16-year-old gay boy running through the woods without the strict beliefs of your parents and having your life saved and saving the life of another attractive 16-year-old gay boy all the time? And then being trapped in a dungeon with him sure to be executed within the next few minutes without ever getting to admit your truth?” Because I totally buy it. I (embarrassingly) admitted my “love” IRL to my boyfriend when we were 16 after just knowing each other for a day (we are still great friends, btw). Nonetheless, I didn’t need all of the external pressures that Xion and Pera faced to make me say that.

Listening to godsfall, noticing that there’s definitely a queer vibe between Xion and Pera: ehhh I’m probably overthinking this, it’s only been a couple episodes-

Xion, to Pera, when he firmly thinks they’re both about to die: I love you

Me: never mind, it’s queer as shit and I’ve called it since the creepy temple in the iron wood forest

Schitt's Creek: what I hope for

I love where the show is going and I would never presume to be a better writer/showrunner than Daniel Levy. But what I would LOVE to see in the ending season is that the Roses get an opportunity to "sell" the town but all simultaneously and independently sabotage that because they all secretly (or not so secretly) want to stay. It was in the town of Schitt's Creek where they all had the opportunity to truly live and find their true selves and make deeper connections with others than they ever could as the stodgy, lifeless "family" lives they were in before. In season 6, Alexis comes back with Ted with awful but interesting stories of their adventures. The "Crows Have Eyes 3" was released to DVD and got some critical success among die-hard cult fans (with the option that "Crows Have Eyes 4" might be a big cult hit in Croatia ... but not Bosnia . . . there was some kind of cultural incident). David and Patrick plan their perfect (but ends up being not perfect, but actually more-than-perfect for being not perfect) wedding, Johnny works to improve the motel and solidifies his relationship with Stevie as a surrogate father as Stevie takes a greater stock of herself to finally find happiness. This show is my jam.

Godsfall Haldir Reading

I know you are all into this, so I probably shouldn't say anything. But as an arbiter of cannon, I feel I have to. I get it: you say things about Haldir to mock him. He deserves that. Haldir is designed as an AWFUL person. Within the Godsfall world though, not only can Haldir read, he is one of the best "readers" in history. Haldir is highly educated and is ready to destroy all around him. So, I can see why you would want to sever him from his abilities. Xion, however, prefers to know his enemies by what they can do. If Haldir is an erudite opponent, Xion would want to know that.

Was Xion's declaration of love in the cell spontaneous, or had you been planning it? And what would you have done if Aram hadn't gone along with it?

Sorry: I didn’t see your question until now. Xion’s adoration of Pera had been building if you listen closely. He made that declaration because he was sure that they were both about to die in the next few minutes anyway but didn’t want to die before expressing his feelings. In the immediacy of being a teen and facing death, he was compelled to do so. Their love grows into it though over time as the series progresses.

I'm releasing the next couple of chapters in "Of Love and Turtles" about Xion and Pera's first date at Turtlefest. Turns out, all the fans who picked up on Xion and Pera being "queer-coded" before the "reveal" were totally right. They were just not openly talking about their budding relationship around the rest of the party until it couldn't be helped.

Godsfall au in Rome

Godsfall au. I would love for the Godling team (Rina, Dorro, Torvick, Oinkers, Sirena, Xion and Pera [Joshra is there, but in the capacity as a guard to the Godlngs]) in Ancient Rome. It would be best in Nero’s time. They’d be like “You are a terrible leader,” and then fix the situation.

Xion’s official image is based upon my own visage at Xion’s age (16). I gave our official artist (in the thread above) a few pictures from that time to work with. I am older now, as a voice actor, but I am playing a 16/17 year-old. So, I figured, why reinvent the wheel and just go with what I looked like when I was that age.

You mentioned Xion being "N.A." and white. What does N.A. stand for?

Ah, it’s Native American. I answer most things via mobile, so I tend to shorthand a lot

Xion is modeled after Michael himself, namely being reminiscent of his high school appearance. We had an active dialog while building him and that truly made Xion one of the most enjoyable Godsfall cast to design.

@xion-from-godsfall has some lovely insight regarding Xion’s character if you’d like to know more! I’m on mobile, so I can’t add images, but maybe you could share your photo we referenced, Michael?

A really sweet moment in this fan fiction that totally could have happened. Pera and Xion are good for each other because Pera encourages the otherwise cerebral Xion to allow himself to feel, while Xion gives Pera confidence and the affection that he needs.
