"I think some tiramisu sounds pretty good," he replied after a moment of thought. "Chocolate and coffee all in one is the perfect combination on any day."

He recalled that Yuichiro - one of the two owners - had shared that they imported the ingredients right from Italy. Also shared that Italy was apparently the desserts birth place, a fact that Yugi hadn't known until then.

He smiled and nodded. "Good idea. It's been quite a while since we were last there." Yami took a second to check his bag. Making sure everything was in there before wearing it. "Alright. Let's go. So... Do you have anything in mind on what to eat? Or are you planning on looking over the menu?"

"Sure, do you want to go to that one cafe you told me about? I think it was called The Daily Grind." As he recalled, that one was ran by two guys that were their age.

He'd bitten into another fry at the wrong time and coughed to get the food out of his windpipe after he'd gasped. After he was safe from asphyxiation via fry though, he laughed. Even while his cheeks turned a deeper pink.

"Atem! Really?" he laughed. He'd have to watch for those innuendos his partner could slip into their conversations from now on. The timing probably hadn't been on purpose, but still. "Pft.. No, I'm good. Like I said, I don't have a lot of time to spare right now. And I'm not really one for hooking up just for the sake of hooking up."

It was nothing against those who did of course, but it just wasn't for him. Deep inside he was a hopeless romantic in some ways. Love had to be there for him to sleep with someone. And without time, there couldn't be a genuinely love connection built with anyone.

"Besides, I'm fine right now. I'm content with what I have. Sure, love would be nice to have, later. But not right now." This time he picked up his own drink. More to wash away the weird feeling still lingering in his throat from almost choking. "What brought this on anyway? Or are you just teasing me?"

A soft chuckle escapes Atem’s throat after hearing that little joke. “You can call me whatever you want, abou. I think I would be a good Cupid.”

Sitting across his other half like this definitely felt very comforting. Yugi always had the ability to take away the sadness and loneliness the pharaoh felt in his heart. Maybe them being separated from one another is the main reason why the pharaoh longs to be near his abou — to feel that familiar presence which used to be so constant before, like a comforting blanket.

Now days the little guy seems to be more busy, but the former pharaoh was grateful for every moment his aibou chooses to spend with him.

He pulls his hand back after it was swatted away by Yugi, but he decides to tease him a little longer. “Nothing going on upstairs or downstairs? My, we really need to fix that asap, don’t we?” He smirks as he leans back in his seat, taking a sip from his drink. His eyes remaining fixed on Yugi.

"I thought your name is Atem, not Cupid," Yugi teased as he picked up another fry to munch on.

The hikari thought it was a good idea to come here to Burger World so they could eat and talk at the same time. It seemed he'd been right to suggest it too. Looking at his friend, he could tell that Atem seemed more relaxed in a somewhat familiar setting. The apartment wasn't familiar, at least not yet.

He blinked free of his thoughts before they could get very far when he felt the light tap to his forehead. Though he soon snickered and playfully batted the hand away from his head. It still amazed him he could do that now.

"There's not really anything going on upstairs other than assignments and stuff," he answered with a shrug. "That's why I haven't really been looking for romance. I'm too busy to give a partner of that nature any real time. That wouldn't be very fair of me."

Yugi’s talk about Anzu wanting the pharaoh and not Yugi, kind of completely goes over Atem’s head, as it always did. He lets out a soft chuckle, amused by what he believes to be a cheeky joke. “Well, maybe we need to get you out there more.” He teased as he rests his chin in to his palm.

His thoughts wandered off for a moment before he finally decided to speak again. The tone in his voice serious yet gentle at the same time. “You know,…now that I no longer can hear what is going on up here—“. He reaches over with his free hand and gently taps Yugi on the forehead. “—you need to express your thoughts to me more often.”

"Huh, Anzu..?" Oh, that's right! He'd had a big crush on her for a long time. He'd almost forgotten about that! Now he snickered as he rubbed the back of his neck, a nervous habit as his cheeks lit up pink.

"Nah, I gave up on that a while ago. She was more interested in you, you know? I don't really have anyone that I like, like that at the moment."

He and Anzu had tried it out for a little while. But it had become pretty clear, pretty early on that she was looking for Atem through him. And while Yugi had gained confidence from the Pharaohs influence, he was nowhere on Atem's level.

Room Rules:

 Game Rules: 

1. Every player is given a twenty sided die. 2. To roll you type /rolldie20 (exactly like that don’t remove the /). 3. The person with the highest number asks the lowest number “Truth or Dare?” 4. Lowest number has a right to choose either. Or pass their turn. If they pass they must take a shot of alcohol as a penalty. 5. Highest number also has the right to pass on asking, but will have to take a shot as a penalty. 6. If highest passes and does penalty shot, the next highest number will then ask Truth or Dare. 7. If there are two or more people who roll twenty or two or more who roll 1 then a re-roll must be done. 8. When the re-roll is done, its just a tie break. So even if a 1 rolled a 20 they have lost the roll for lowest. That’s all that means. Same for if two roll 20 and then one of them rolls a 1. It just means you’ve lost the re-roll for highest. 9. They game can change to “Never Have I Ever” where one says something they have never done. If someone has done it, they have to take a shot of alcohol (this is usually when the muses have been drinking and want more drinks.) 10. You don’t have to just play the game, you can also interact in character. 11. Double characters are welcome. For example, two Atem’s, two Yugi’s and so on. This is an AU setting so anything goes.

"Oh you know me, any excuse I can get to make friends some food, I'll take it," he replied with a big smile. "Or in this case, desserts."

He wouldn't say it, but it was a relief to know that he was off the hook for work today. He enjoyed his job with Otogi, his dad, and Jounouchi and all, but he wanted to have the day free for himself and his boyfriend too. Even so, he had wanted to make sure that the little eatery wasn't going to be short staffed and to make sure they knew he'd come in if he had to.

His cheeks hadn't cooled from that teasing wink the taller male had given him though. It seemed that Otogi knew already what Yugi hadn't said and called him out on it. In a playful way of course. He hadn't realized he'd potentially interrupted his time with Jou though and sported a knowing smile of his own.

They may have not come out and said it yet, but it was pretty obvious to him that those two were in a relationship or at least felt romantically toward one another.

"Oh, I won't keep you then. I just wanted to drop that off for you. There's some chocolates, bite sized cakes, and candies in there. Enjoy!"

"You do have a habit of pushing yourself too hard," he gently teased, but then again, so did Yugi.

He laid off for now though, Yami was going to bed and getting some much needed rest, so the hikari went over to push some blond bangs from the taller's face. It hadn't taken long for him to fall asleep. More exhausted than he realized indeed it seemed. Pale fingers gently combed through the blond bangs before finally hanging at his side as he turned to leave the room.

"Sleep well, Yami," he quietly wished before just as quietly closing the bedroom door behind him. Now to make them both some food.

"Ah. I suppose I have been overdoing it."

Yami hadn't paid much attention to sleep lately. He figured it was fine if he could get stronger. As it turns out that may have been a mistake. Seeing the worry in Yugi's eyes. Yami let his partner lead him into the bedroom and when the bed was close enough? He climbed into it and got comfortable. Feeling the exhaustion hit him almost immediately.

"Hm. It seems like I really have been pushing myself." Yami said in a soft tone. Closing his eyes. "See you when I wake up, Aibou." Shortly after that he fell asleep.

"Working isn't all that different to what you did when you were Pharaoh," he replied, the index finger of his free hand tapping his chin in thought. "Just on a much smaller scale than an entire nation. Give suggestions to people who need them, listen to complaints and give solutions, make sure there's enough product in stock.. Really the only thing different is you'd be actively selling them things. But we could show you how."

It was a very simplified way to explain how to work at the game shop.. But he figured making the comparison and listing the duties would make it a bit easier to grasp for a man who was so sure work was a foreign concept. And really with all the help Atem had given him over the time he knew him, it was the least he could do in return. So he sent a smile back at the male, who he noted was still taller than him as he led the way to his apartment.

Once arriving, Yugi greeted the doorman as he usually did on the way to the elevator. From there it was a quick ride to the second floor which Yugi spent, making small talk with his friend. Things like new games he couldn't wait for them to play together and foods that Atem had to try now that he could. As for the working, Yugi would likely be spending a lot more time than he normally would helping out too. He wasn't just going to toss the once king into the thick of it and basically say "good luck". He'd be there to assist until he got the hang of it at least. For now he opened the door to his apartment and stepped aside for Atem to enter as he took off his shoes to exchange for slippers.

"Well this is it. Its not much, but its mine. I'm slowly saving up to buy a house later on when I can. But I think, this place is nice for the time being," he said, hands on his hips and proud smile on his lips. "Come on, I'll show you around."

"I don't mind either one, I like the idea of living with you for as long as we both can. Even if it means we don't sleep from playing games together all night." He has to admit, the once-pharaoh laughs with that one. He follows along, black studded shoes tapping along the ground as he feels a relief over him. It's as if he feels hope, far more than that, like waking up to a beautiful morning again. Is that what it means to give living a second try?

"There's so much I feel I didn't get to enjoy before, always in chaos over myself and who I was or am. You're right in that, to just enjoy being myself and this world around me. Ah...There's also the fact that I don't fully understand what actually 'working' is." It isn't like Atem ever had to work before, maybe he feels weirdly embarrassed to admit at how spoiled his life was before.

Ah, but he didn't even notice if Yugi was talking a lot. They both spoke so much to each other before, always speaking their mind and their thoughts together that talking with Yugi felt like second nature to him. After all, they were the true meaning of two peas in a pod!

"No, keep practicing, but only when you're not already tired." He gently tugged on Yami's hand to lead him toward the bedroom. Yami needed his rest and Yugi was going to personally see to it that he got it. And if Yami hadn't been sleeping correctly, that probably meant that he hadn't been eating right either. So Yugi started making plans to prepare food for him while he slept as well.

Yami blinked. "Oh. Uh..." Yugi had a point. He hadn't exactly been resting too well. He chuckled and put the staff away. Giving his partner a tired smile. "Alright. I'll stop doing that." The Prince said and leaned against Yugi a bit. "Rest does sound good right about now."

What? Dartz was back? The first question that came to mind was how exactly that could be, but he didn't ask. The how's could wait. If he was back and that news affected Yami this way, it was in no way good news. All of that aside, Yugi frowned from the display of magic and released his partner's cheeks to take his unoccupied hand instead.

"You're tired and your first thought is to use more energy?" he gently admonished. "I'm glad you're learning how to control it, Yami. But you need to take care of yourself too."

"I am..." He looked down. Blond strands covering his ruby colored eye. "Dartz came back." Yami said softly. "Silver lining? Mahad has been training me to control my magic." He called forth the staff from his twilight magic. "Check it out. Pretty cool right?"

Concern showed in the bright violet of his eyes as he trailed his fingers over until both hands rested against Yami's cheeks. "Are you okay? You look tired." A rarity to see from his partner and one that greatly concerned him when he saw it.
