Yugi had already known it was Atem who had come in just the nick of time to save him and the world as a whole right then. He saw the bright beam of light as his vision was going dark and saw flames, but didn't get burned. Then, - as he was guessing Atem was adjusting to being on this plane of existence again - he could feel it. The protective rage, that he knew wasn't his own.

Even so, after Diva was defeated and sent who knew where, Yugi was still amazed despite himself when he saw him standing before him. In those moments that felt like their own small eternity, no words had to be spoken aloud, their hearts and souls did without them. He didn't know if he even could speak at that moment. He was so awed at the presence of his partner, all he could do was smile.

Besides, he heard what wasn't said. He felt the echoing remains of concern, protectiveness, and rage at the audacity their foe had, had. Stronger than that, he felt the relief, pride, and happiness of seeing him there, still alive for another day and not just him.. Their friends too.

Right then, the hikari knew without a doubt that whether it was time or even death that separated them, Atem would always be there. Always be ready to help and defend as he always had. That was what gave him the strength to see him off with a smile this time rather than the tears of their last separation. And he knew as surely as he was breathing, that a separation was coming.

Atem was a God now.. He couldn't stay in this mortal realm.

So he gave a nod, letting his partner know that it was okay and that he'd be okay. But.. As he watched Atem's hand move to the puzzle, presumably to take it with him, the smile faded into a frown of confusion. Nothing had happened..

Noting this, Yugi's eyes flicked back up to Atem's face, worry starting to take hold. Why wasn't it working..?

"Atem..? What's going..?" he heard his own voice, but couldn't finish the question.

It had been another boring day at Academia. Dueling recently wasn't as fun as she remembered as everyone there just seemed to be weak. Rio was walking through the corridor of the school, hoping to find something interesting or at least something that was worth her time.

A duel in the backyard caught her attention and she watched it for a while but it didn't take long for one of them to win. The purple haired boy seemed to be quite strong, so it wasn't much of a surprise that he won.

Maybe, getting to know him could be fun? She'd have to talk to him to find out about that. So she walked over to him after he was done dueling. "Hey." she simply said.

He’s so fucking bad ass and brutal. A lot of people think Thief King Bakura gets more evil as the manga/story progresses, but I believe he had no intention of showing these people mercy. I don’t think there is anything wrong with his character being that way. The scene in the manga where the men in the tavern were going to kill Bakura while he was eating and he slaughters all of them, was all him and not the Millennium Ring’s evil influence. He’s not going to sit there and take shit from guys wanting to threaten his life. I do think, he wouldn’t go out of his way to hurt anyone if they meant him no harm. His motive is purely revenge. He takes the title of the “King of Thieves” because his village was called “Kul Elna, the Village of Thieves”. He is representing his village and all who were sacrificed.

I will say Yami Bakura, having both Zorc and Thief King’s spirit, makes sense to have that character progressively become more evil as Zorc is the main personality taking over. He does become more cold and evil, but Thief King Bakura’s hatred was already growing and evolving Diabound after his first battle at the Pharaoh’s palace and that was before he had the Millennium Ring.

A main key take away is that, even though the village was known to have thieves there, doesn’t mean they were bad people. It doesn’t mean they deserved to die the way they did. I bet if anything, they were peaceful for the most part. The royal family sacrificed men, women, and children and supported the idea of the ends justify the means, which it doesn’t. People shouldn’t be milestones to your self righteous motives and they shouldn’t be a pawn to make “the world a better place”.

I couldn’t imagine the trauma Bakura had to endure. They deserved his revenge.
