Oh no! :( I haven't gotten around to checking the tag at all, so I wasn't aware that many of the santa asks were fulfilled. Maybe a lot of people got caught up with the holidays and had to back out or forget. I also think a few people haven't gotten around to seeing their gifts either since I don't think my secret santa recipient has seen her gift yet, oof. Though, it still makes me sad knowing that some people have waited for something special only for it not to come :( Still, it's good to know that the event was still successful despite the bumps.

Oh my goodness, I swear I read this like 4 times now. That’s how much I love this. I’m a sucker for fairy tales, so the fact that you created your own little fairy tale with our literal prince Xukun warms my heart. Too pure. My heart is melting. 

You’re so incredibly creative! The fact that you based this off of my url makes it even better because I absolutely love constellations and stars (and Xukun obviously). Xukun creating the Little Dipper and the Big Dipper is the only explanation I’m going to accept for their creation now. Also, that cliffhanger thouuuuugh. Are you trying to kill me? ‘In a time where gods were in charge of taking care of the well being of the whole galaxy, a boy named Xukun was born to be the star of the Universe, son of the God of Sun and the Goddess of Moon.

The prophets predicted that a boy with beautiful,curly blonde hair was going to be the star that guided the other stars across the Universe. And this, my dear, is a story about a boy who could build constellations.

His parents noticed that Xukun’s powers were strong ever since he was a toddler. There wasn’t a day where he wouldn’t form a new constellation on the sky.

Big dipper? Xukun made it at 13 years old. Why? He wasn’t pleased with the little one he made when he was 8.

Years passed and Xukun was now 20. Through the years, he learned how to do great things. He was the one who made the stars rise every night and the sun to set. His powers were so great that he could even take care of the sun when his father couldn’t. The Sun was just a bigger star,right? He told himself.

Xukun loved watching the people from above. The beautiful human creatures that had no idea that he brought them the night and the day. He was a stranger to their traditions.

Right now, he was guiding after a city who seemed to be celebrating “Christmas”.

What was that? Xukun had no idea. He decided to ask his parents, but all he could find out was that “Christmas is a human holiday,son. They put decorations in trees and give each other gifts.” And that was how Xukun decided to bring Christmas to The Sky Kingdom. So he did.

He started crafting decorations with the other young gods, trying to find the certain models that would look beautiful. Xukun took his best friend, Yanjun and tried to find a giant tree to put the decorations on. What tree could be better than the one that was planted right in front of the Castle?

The initial plan was to send Ziyi and Chengcheng to distract the guards while Zhengting and Zhangjing snuck in the decorations. Then, Xukun, Justin, Linong, Yanjun and Xiao Gui brought in the lights and they started decorating the tree.

It took them almost half a day, but nine people are better than Xukun just doing it himself.

Just as they finished, Xukun realized that the tree wasn’t finished, and that something was missing.

He looked at the top of the tree and his eyes sparkled. He snapped his fingers and a small,shiny star made its way to the top of the tree. It was complete.

More stars followed the little one, decorating the whole kingdom with beautiful colored lights.

Xukun was happy, he had brought the Christmas spirit to their kingdom.  In the same day, he spoke to his parents, asking them to announce that everyone who wished to could gift something to their dear ones. Even if it’s just a hug or a kiss, a toy or a decoration. Anything their heart wished to offer to the dear one beside them.

The citizens from The Sky Kingdom welcomed the holiday with open arms, it soon became a tradition that every year they would decorate the big tree and give each other gifts. The gods offered a big dinner for everyone, where everyone was equal and they could just have fun and be thankful for being surrounded by the people the love the most.

Xukun was happy, he saw everyone smiling. And that was exactly what he wished to have in his immortal life. Happiness for him and his kingdom.

One day,maybe he could find love as well.

Minnie closed her fairytale book, settling on her made-up bed beside her family’s Christmas tree. She loved sleeping there ever since she was a kid. Her bed was certainly more comfortable, but her pillow bed beside the tree was her tradition.

She put the book under the tree and looked up at the golden star she put at the top of the tree.

What if the gods she was reading about were once real? Were they going to come visit the Earth one day? Where did they live? Was it a planet? Did they have a floating kingdom? So many questions. It was probably the fault of the box of cookies she ate while decorating the tree. One decoration, one cookie. Who could blame her? Who would ever say no to Christmas cookies? I sure know I wouldn’t.

Before going to sleep, she looked at the sky. A wishing star! She closed her eyes and wished she’d meet a person like Xukun one day. She totally didn’t see the star that sparkled when it heard Minnie’s wish.

Minnie laughed at her own wish, it was childish, but Xukun seemed like an amazing guy, too bad he was only a book character. She put her head on her pillow and wrapped the warm blankets beside her, closing her eyes and falling into a deep sleep.

However, she knew her wish came true when a guy with curly,blonde hair named Cai Xukun had joined her college class after holidays.  It was like a dream come true. The Xukun in front of her looked exactly like the one in her book. She looked up at the tall man who walked beside her, sitting at the desk right in front of her, looking back at her with a knowing smile.

Minnie didn’t blush, totally. It was just a coincidence. Of course there are other people named Xukun in this world, who are also blonde with curly hair. Right? Right.

Under the Christmas Lights || Lin Yanjun

I hope you have a Merry Christmas and that the new year brings you lots of love and joy. I hope you enjoy this!

It was the night of Christmas. Snow descended from the heavens, blanketing the entire world and turning it into a white kingdom. All was still outside as everyone basked in the warmth of their own homes, huddled around a buffet of food and exchanging gifts. If you listened carefully, you could hear the distant sound of people singing carols at the top of their lungs, the sweet and cheery notes being carried through the wind. 

Unlike the other houses filled with family and loved ones alike, one home remained peaceful and cozy, but still just as merry as everyone else. The inside of the home was decorated from top to bottom. Red and white tinsel wrapped beautifully around the railings of the staircase paired with several wreathes spaced out between the spindles. A cute smiling little elf statue holding a present stood at the bottom of the stairs.

In the living room, rich green garland decorated with red ribbons wrapped around the perimeter of the roaring fireplace, spreading warmth throughout the room. Lights looped around the entire room in an array of festive colors, illuminating red, green, gold and white light. An array of sweets sat on the table including cake, chocolate, candy canes, and of course, cookies and milk for Santa. A couple of scented candles were lit throughout the room, filling the room with the soft scent of vanilla and cinnamon in the air. 

In the corner of the room stood an 8 foot tall spruce tree. A couple of presents laid underneath it, excited to be opened later by its recipients. However, it was completely devoid of any decorations. 

At that moment, a young woman nearly stumbled into the living room carrying two heavy boxes that completely obstructed her view. One step forward and she nearly knocked over the nutcracker toy on her left. Just as the top box was on the verge of slipping over, swift hands easily caught the box and saved her from what otherwise would have been a disaster.

“You know you could have asked me to grab the decorations, right?” Yanjun questioned her.

Suni smiled sheepishly, adjusting the last box in her arms. “I figured you were busy in the kitchen, so I thought I’d save myself the trouble of taking two trips to the attic by carrying them all at once,” she said.

Yanjun tsked, gesturing for her to place her box on top of his. With much more ease, he helped her bring the decorations over to the bare tree. Suni bent down to open the boxes, revealing a variety of ornaments, tinsel, as well as some more lights.

“I’m so excited to finally decorate this tree after weeks of putting it up,” Suni happily expressed, picking up some gold tinsel, “even though Christmas is over tomorrow, but you best believe it’s staying up until New Years.”

“How come you didn’t just decorate it on your own earlier?” Yanjun questioned, juggling a few ornaments causing Suni to glare at him in warning.

“Careful! Those are the only ones we have and I’m not about to go out into the snow to get some more.”

“Babe, you worry too much. It’s fine-” he began saying before...

Crash.

“...I’ll go get my coat.”

Unamused, Suni shook her head with a loud sigh and tugged him back to the tree. “Just help me decorate this with what we have left, you idiot. To answer your question, I wanted to wait until you were done with schedules so we could decorate the tree with each other. It’s our first Christmas together.”

Giving her a soft smile, he pulled her to him by the waist and kissed the top of her head. “Thank you, babe. Sorry for making you wait so long.”

With that said, the two divided the decorations between themselves with Yanjun handling the tinsel and lights (for obvious reasons) and Suni in charge of placing the ornaments on. Yanjun, being the grown child he is, pretended to use some gold tinsel as a lasso like some kind of cowboy before twirling it around Suni’s figure and using the tinsel to pull her to his chest.

“Excuse me, sir. You’re supposed to wrap that around the tree, not around me. We’re never going to have enough time to unwrap presents if you keep fooling around,” she chuckled, lightly smacking his face with the end of the tinsel.

Yanjun shrugged, “I’d rather unwrap you.”

Cheeks flushing pink in embarrassment, Suni pushed his entire face away with her hand. “You’re definitely on Santa’s naughty list this year, perv.”

“Oof, how could you hurt me so?” The male feigned hurt, dramatically placing his hands over his chest.

Rolling her eyes playfully, Suni returned to strategically placing the round bulbs and snowflake shaped ornaments onto the tree. After some more fiddling around, the couple finally finished decorating. With a flick of a button, the lights on the tree twinkled beautifully against the green boughs. All that was left was to place the star at the top of the tree.

Yanjun held the glittery gold star in his hand, wiggling it playfully. “Would you like to do the honors?”

Suni grinned at him with excited eyes and took the star from him. Feeling Yanjun’s hands on her hips, he easily lifted her up high enough so that she was able to swiftly place the decoration perfectly at the top of the tree. Instead of putting her down, he carefully maneuvered her around so that her legs wrapped around his waist. Naturally, she wrapped her arms around his neck as he held her up.

“How did we do?” he hummed, tilting his head to look into the eyes that he adored so much.

Suni smiled in response, “Amazing. I love how it turned out. This is the best Christmas I’ve ever had so far.”

“You know what would make this Christmas even better? Look up,” he instructed.

Doing as he said, Suni raised her gaze to the ceiling where a small sprig of mistletoe dangled. She laughed, of course Yanjun and place that there when she wasn’t paying attention. How he managed to do that, she had no idea. 

“Seriously?” she chuckled in amusement. “You’re so cliche.”

“Sorry, I don’t make the rules,” he sung, “Merry Christmas, beautiful.”

Under the Christmas lights of the tree they decorated with love, the couple happily shared one of the many special kisses to come.

📒 Fantasy Fest + Update

Hey everyone, long time no see. I’m really sorry for going MIA. School has been incredibly stressful since we’re nearing the end of the semester soon, which means finals are in a couple of weeks. I’m also struggling financially (college is expensive rip), so I’m not yet able to afford to register for classes next semester  which makes me feel anxious af but that’s a whole other story. 

Good news is that after over half of a year of searching, I finally managed to get hired for a job :’) Let’s get this bread, yo. I have training this week and then officially start working next week, which is going to take up most of my free time.

And so that brings me back to this blog. I know I had massive plans for Fantasy Fest, but I’ve decided to finish the series as it is. This means I won’t write for most/all of Top 35 for this specific series anymore. I’m actually going to finish up the last mythical creature option aka merman!au, and then the series will be complete. Not quite what I had in mind for FF, but at least I have one of each option (which is still good enough for me tbh). Thank you for all the love you’ve given Fantasy Fest! Feel free to request more of these types of AUs in the future!

From this point on, my updates are going to be pretty spread out and sporadic since my free time to write has been cut significantly. Even so, I’ll still be around here and there, so don’t go forgetting about me, ok? jk jk The holidays, especially Christmas, is my absolute favorite so there’s going to be a lot of that in a couple of weeks. 

I think I might open up One Word Prompts since they’re quick and easy to do. How does that sound for everyone? The theme will be Christmas related of course. I’ll open up the ask box in the near future after I come up with the theme.

Oof be careful next time - I’ve done that before and it hurts like a heifer 😅 that’s why i like to take my time when I cook :) I’m very curious as to what the menu will be now that Leizi is back and if they’ll have both him and Jeffrey as chefs (though they really need him out there to take care of guests). Also, I loved episode 6 - so much fricking adorable shizz in it. Melted for Wenjun and Jeffrey, of course. Zhengting’s vocals are underrated! OMG I teared up as he sang..

I think my finger is getting better? It still hurts a bit when I apply pressure and it feels more like a callous now. All I wanted was some damn celery sticks, oof. I hope they update the menu every now and then just to give the restaurant some more variety. 

I was totally caught off guard by the boys’ singing OMG. I didn’t expect for them to perform at all. They finally put that stage to use after a good 5 episodes, haha. All of their singing makes me melt :( I’m in love. I fall a little more in love with Zhengting everyday tbh. His vocals are deffinely overrated. I always knew he sung well but during the episode I was like… well DAMN. MY WIG IS SNATCHED.

Omg - totally forgot to update you on my journey in Fantasy Restaurant lol quick summary: 50% need to protect Zhengting from himself, 50% laughing at him being a little shit XD I’ve grown to really appreciate everyone and their hard work ethics :) Xikan and Xinchun really stepped up when they were basically thrown in their workplace. Wenjun and Jeffrey own my life lolz Jeffrey really wants to overtake Ziyi as my ideal man bahahahahah I think that’s about it (waiting for ep. 7 to be subbed)

Zhengting needs to start wearing armor or protective gear both in and outside the kitchen jfc. Poor baby keeps hurting himself. Must protect :( But yes, he definitely is a little shit lmao. I feel like I channeled my inner Zhengting because I accidentally cut my finger yesterday while cooking too, oof.

During Idol Producer, Xinchun and Xikan didn’t catch my eye as much as the other boys so I never got a good grasp on their personality, but the two of them are literal puppies omg. They’re so cheeky! Basically Dumb and Dumber LMAO It makes me happy that they were able to adjust pretty quickly.

I can’t wait to see ep 7, especially since Lei is back. I don’t know how but I’ve grown incredibly fond of him. That, and we also need some more order in the kitchen lmao

Ninepercentnet Winter Prompt Challenge!

It’s almost the end of the year and the holidays are coming soon, so the admins challenge you to create a 2k+ story based off of one of the following winter-themed prompts! 

It’s the night before Christmas and you’re kind of sad because everyone’s with their families while you’re all alone. Luckily, a certain boy (or group of boys) is planning a little something so you won’t be left out for long.

Holiday season means holiday shopping, no? You hate shopping, but when you come face to face with that cute sales guy you’ve had a crush on for a long time… well, maybe your sentiments will change now that you’ve seen him decked out in holiday gear, looking stupidly, absolutely adorable.

There’s a month left before Christmas, but already there are already a certain few people who have decided it’s now time to put up the holiday decorations, whether you like it or not.

You love winter, but winter hates you. Every year you get horrible seasonal allergies, complete with a stuffy nose, sneezes, and a rasping cough that drives away everyone within a fifty-foot radius. The only person who cares to stay near is your best friend, which is a little bit of an issue considering you have a sort of kind of massive crush on them.

Someone decided to put mistletoe all over the school as a sick sort of joke, and you’ve just been shoved under a clump of the stuff by your conniving “friends.” Who are you supposed to kiss, you might ask? Well, your friends are eyeing a certain someone walking down the hall…

Why did your best friend decide to put mistletoe all over the school as a joke? You don’t know. Why did you go along with it? You don’t know. All you know is that you didn’t expect to accidentally stumble under a bunch of it with said best friend. It isn’t just the cold that’s turning your cheeks red, now.

Baking cookies? Not such a good idea when your friends decide to come over and wreak havoc in the kitchen.

It’s winter, it’s that time of the month, it’s cold, and you’re out of hot chocolate. It’s shaping up to be a bad day, but at least you have someone you can force to buy stuff for you.

You’ve always wanted to be kissed in the rain, thinking that it’s the ultimate romantic gesture. Well, there isn’t any rain, but maybe snow will do.

Every year, you and your neighbor compete over who has the best Christmas decorations outside your house. It isn’t friendly competition. Last year, the kids were flocking over to your neighbor’s house, oohing and aahing over their sparkly lights, and this year, you’re determined not to lose.

Presents are a must at Christmas time, no? But no matter what you get this year, there’s only one thing you really want: you want him to come home.

You said yes to an ice skating date with your crush, and you’re super excited. But there’s one issue - you haven’t gone ice skating since you were five.

One day as you were coming home, you bumped into your neighbor in your apartment lobby, causing him to trip and knock over the Christmas tree, breaking about twenty of the glass ornaments. Now the two of you are stuck buying new ones for your landlord and you hate each other’s guts.

Your neighbor just walked out wearing the ugliest Christmas sweater you’ve ever seen. You think your eyes are bleeding, but somehow, he still looks… kind of cute.

Yes, that’s exactly why I wrote Linong this way in this angel au! You explained it beautifully. I know most of my writing includes romantic relationships (minus my olderbrother!yanjun fic) so I wanted to highlight a different form of emotional support system where everyone can somewhat relate to.
