If I were a decent person I might have cleaned off the table before taking pictures but literally the only reason these were taken at all was because I got @negaiboshi this tiny trash can and had to show her just how well her Starscream figure would fit in it.
Soundwave saw an opportunity and he took it.

Affirmative, and from what you have been picturing in your mind he would pretty much label it as that. But mind that he is no specialist though, it would still be advisable to have it checke. But he can guarantee you that the majority of war survivors are suffering from at least some kind of trauma, it would be rather surprising if they didnt.
There is no such thing as invulnerability. Every mech could be hurt. Even his Lord could be, although he was a master at avoiding those circumstances. Thinking like that would be completely delusional. Even he himself could be hurt, if he was stupid enough to let it happen.
..................................................................
There was a long pause before Soundwave made any indication to answer Smokescreens question.
He would request you specify you query. Then he will consider to provide you with the suitable information or not. Were you asking if he had experienced a trauma before or if the war had left a knack in his processor as well?
Albeit, your statement holds truth. He has fought for so long that the war practically became what he lived for. With how things are now, he finds it hard to adapt sometimes. Almost as if he had been stripped of his purpose.
He will say no more than this, know that should he discover you would treat his advice not as confidental as he wishes you to be he might not be willing to offer you his consultation the next time.
The floor is not an acceptable location for recharging, and as he said before, recharge is not something he is in need of at the moment. Recharging serves the purpose of powering down ones systems to give ones spark the opportunity to release charge, with the lack of the latter you should be aware that it is not something he necessarily requires.

Soundwave is very curious as to what answer the Autobot will present him, knowin full well that it was a bit of a tricky one. But, to his surprise, he did exceed his expectations. It seemed like Smokescreen did choose his words carefully instead of just blurting out the first thing that crossed his mind. Like usually.
He sees...to be honest, it was quite obvious that something had been troubling the other. Soundwave had just refrained from diging up the answers himself out of courtesy. Yet. The amount of trust Smokescreen was offering him was concerning though, at least if their positions had been reversed, Soundewave might not have been so generous with information, he should have known that thinking about it was practically the same as saying it out loud in the Telepaths proximity.
For now though, he could not sense any danger or malcontent in them.
Stepping forward so he would be directly next to the laying mecha, Soundwave let one of his feelers slide out, tipping it on Smokescreens doorwing to get his attention before tipping it onto where his insignia was, then back to where his own had been engraved. What you are describing to him does sound like a trauma, it is not rare for individuals who had served under extreme circumstances, in their case the war, to suffer from such effects long after the initial origin of the circumstance had ended. It has nothing to do with what you should have done and shouldnt, even less so with failure. It is a way for you processor to cope with the amount of stress, atrocities, dangers and emotionally crushing situations you had to deal with in the past. Nothing too unusual. But also not something that should be taken too lightly. He suggests a visit to the medbay if it interferes with your sleep or refilling cycles too much.
...Simple, if you took his berth tonight he would just not sleep. Not that he needed to anyways. And given the circumstances you have just explained to him, hed even give you his permission this time. Once.

Tilting his head downwards to the fear stricken mech, he pinged an answer to the rookies question. Though what Soundwave labeled as “Answer” was, in fact, another question.
Do Terrorcons feel?
You still havent told him the reason why you tried to desperately fight recharge in the first place. Did something occur that could be troubling to his Lord and the mission?
Watching the Autobot simply roll over, Soundwave shifted his optics behind the darkened glass. If you intend to recharge in his chaimbers, at least use the berth, not the floor. It makes maneuvering less difficult.
Of course Soundwave had taken notice of the others plan, but he did not deem it necessary to intervene yet. Furniture? It would only get in the way of his already tight space.
He watches obviously amused as the arm attached itself to the whiteish mech, biolights flickering up in a short spike of euphoria before he simply lifted his arm, ordering the thing to release its hold. Falling to the floor and scuttling behind Soundwaves leg, it peeked forward releasing a series of various scratching noises directed at Smokescreen that almost sounded like it was sulking.
Now turning towards the table, Soundwave reached out towards his visor to strap it on, usually he did not wear it inside his private chaimbers but this was now an exception, then faced his guest again. Now he was ready.
So
What brings you here?

He would have to give Smokescreen credit for not turning tail and running straight out again after five seconds. Was he actually going to stay?
Interesting…
The slender mech eyed the other as he started to….clean up his chaimbers? Of all the acquaintances Soundwave had not a single one of them would have dared to touch his possessions without his permission, and for good reason. One Smokescreen would inevitably find out.
As soon as he tried to grab the arm off the ground, it snapped at the Autobots wrist grabbing it tightly. Although rusted it did bear a recognizable similarity to that of Skyquake, if one took the effort to look close enough.
Since his visor was currently stashed away on his desk, the small smirk on the Spymasters face was actually visible.

-He sees...thank you for sharing this information. Soundwave tilted his head to the side, almost as if he did not understand the librarian. Do not misunderstand him, Orion. He did, in no way, lose track of his Lord. It is another matter than concerns him. He believes that his former Masters devotion to his current task exceeds the limits of what should be avised. Saying, he fears that his Lord is neglecting all other activities as of late. Even if they may include indullgin in your presence, verbal or written-
-Boops face angrily!-
Orion rubbed where his nose might have been if it had been fashionable to have a metallic bridge there like it was in the past when interstellar trade existed, and let out an indignant huff. “Goodness. What ever was that for?“ he asked, raising a brow. “If it is for kicking your minions out of the Hall I am not apologetic. They were being quite rude. Data pads are not meant for discus events.”
