It… could not fly. So, I gave it wings and made it fly each morning. But it soon grew tired of having its flight path chosen for and, it began plotting. It decided on flying higher than the day before, till it was so far away I could barely see it wave.

And, what I initially took to be a strong wind blowing it around, turned out to be the little fella’s hand clutching a knife and snapping off its threads. ‘Finally’, it had thought while cutting off the last thread holding it back, ‘I can fly anywhere in the world.’

But not once, had it ever flown in its miserable little life.
