Our final deadline of 17th September has passed. The yamazakiday event is officially closed.

We had 80+ works be submitted for this Sousuke birthday event and it has been an absolute thrill seeing all the beautiful submissions come in one by one. Without you, none of this would have been possible!

A giant shout out to those who had jam packed schedules but still squeezed in a little time to contribute, and a giant shout out to those who submitted multiple works. You guys are champs!!

We, the admins, had a wonderful time seeing this event through and we hope that in the future, should we host another Sousuke event, you'd all come join the fun again!

rinsousukes, this is for you. If it wasn’t for your kind, kind words on my last fic, this probably wouldn’t have been written.

I’m going to Australia, he says, and you can feel your breath catch in your throat. You hear some of his next words, a week and Haru, but the rest blurs past you, swept away by the tide.

The world tilts, just for a moment, and you’re twelve again, hearing him say those words for the first time. You were so young then, young and naive and stupid, and you’d thought that he’d be there forever. That it would be you and him, no matter what. So you had let him go without a word - because anything that puts that big of a smile on his face is must be a good thing, right - only a fistbump and a see you later, and you lost him for five years.

A denim shirt, with the top two buttons undone and the sleeves rolled up the elbows; black jeans—slim, not skinny—and brown boots. They’re both even holding light gray sweaters. The only noticeable difference between them are their accessories—Sousuke’s got his ratty old beanie on, while large black glasses are perched on the other’s nose.

I know I’m a day late but HAPPY BIRTHDAY Sousuke! The first time I saw him in the first episode, I was like “HIM. THAT’S MY NEW ANIME CRUSH.” OK aside from crushes and stuff, I really love Sousuke’s cold-and-brooding-on-the-outside yet warm-kind-fluffy-and-always-looks-out-for-others-on-the-inside character. At first I viewed him as a friendly antagonist, but after knowing what happened in his past, I feel bad for misunderstanding him. Though it’s sad that he won’t swim anymore, I’m so happy his dream of “seeing that light” came true! I wish you a happy birthday, and a happy life with everyone you love, Sousuke! *hugs*

But in other news, Sousuke's birthday has officially passed. We've received a great number of submissions that came in all shapes and sizes, and we're delighted that so many rose to the occasion despite the short notice. Without you, the event would not have been this fun and enjoyable!

It doesn’t matter with whom, though he hopes it’s gonna be Rin. It doesn’t matter when, though he hopes it’s gonna be soon. He’s gonna get what he wants, in the end.  He’s gonna find himself another dream, and see it that it gets realized. He’s gonna find someone to share the high and lows with. Because he doesn’t deserve any less than that, no matter what some voices in his head say. And if someone dares to get in his way, or in the way of the person he loves… it won’t be pretty. It’s gonna end in tears, and they won’t be his own. For sure. ******************************************* Non importa con chi, anche se spera che sarà con Rin.
