Fantasy Fairy Swing Set

Hi :) This CC set is inspired by my inner child’s love for swings and the flowery atmosphere of the latest expansion, Enchanted By Nature. I hope you like it.❤ IMPORTANT: You need the current version of the game (1.116.240.1020) for the swing to work without a second Sim wanting to swing in the air on an invisible seat (because so far, all swings in Sims 4 are coded to have two seats). My awesome fiancé helped me with the coding to remove the invisible second seat animation when I was ready to give up in frustration because I couldn’t remove it via 3 other silly methods. It finally worked, but then I decided to test it on another saved game, an older save before the last patch, which broke my custom tuning and reintroduced the invisible second seat animation. When I re-saved that save and redid the code, the game accepted the code again. This leads us to believe (we could be wrong) that it’s one of those “a new patch broke my CC” cases and you might also face an invisible second seat issue if you have an older version of the game. As for newer versions, I’ll have to check again when new patches come, and update the files if needed.

CC Issues FAQ

Hi :) Following the example of other CC creators, I decided (a bit late, I’m sorry) to make a separate post with questions and answers for the most common CC issues someone might come across. Most of these are valid for all CC in general, not just mine, so you’ll see me repeat some of the things other CC creators have already mentioned. I hope this helps.❤

1.     Why can’t I see a CC item in the game?

Please make sure your game is up to date with the latest patch from EA. EA keeps adding new items to the base game, so if you have an older version of the game, the item I cloned as a base for the coding of my CC might not be in your game.

Check if you have the necessary DLC – expansion, game pack, stuff pack or kit – and you haven’t disabled it. Some of my CC (for example, a functional swing, a vanity table, etc.) requires a specific DLC, which is always mentioned in the post about that CC.

Did you install the CC properly? The “.package” files should be unzipped, and placed no more than 2 subfolders deep in the game’s Mods folder, otherwise the game won’t recognize them.

Type “YannaSims4” in the game search bar to find all of my CC because an item might be hiding in plain sight or you might be looking for it in the wrong category.

Did you download the CC directly from my Patreon and not from someone else? Always get your CC from the original creator to ensure the files aren’t messed up.

2.     The file got corrupted/ my game won’t launch.

Sometimes a file won’t download properly (for example, your internet connection or a site’s server might drop for a nanosecond even if it seems like it didn’t stop the download). Please remove the old file and re-download. And always download CC from the original creator.

3.     CC is incompatible with other mods/ CC.

Sometimes this can happen, even if you don’t fiddle with the coding and file names, and even if the CC is not dependent on other mods. If there is a conflict between CC items, your best option is to check manually which CC/mods are problematic by disabling them. My pose sets are dependent on two other mods to work, so if you have older versions of the Pose Player Mod and Teleport Any Sim Mod, my poses might not be compatible with them.

4.     Why am I seeing weird shadows slicing through CC?

It might happen if your SSAO is turned on or before a new patch fixes the issues. There are many tutorials online that will help you turn off SSAO for your game.

5.     Weird lines are appearing on CC edges.

Your Nvidia graphics card drivers need to be updated or you might need some adjusting of the anti-aliasing settings. There are many tutorials online that will show you how to fiddle with those settings.

6.     Gradient shadows on my earliest CC sets.

If you’re seeing gradient shadows on my 2024 sets “Autumn Bathroom”, “Forest Hammock” and “Back To School Kawaii Desk Clutter”, please download the updated files from those posts.

7.     How do I resize your CC items, move them up or down, or place them on surfaces/ next to each other like in your screenshots?

Use the “testingcheats true” and “bb.moveobjects on” cheatcodes. Move objects with the ALT key or rotate them freely by switching to the Sims 3 Camera settings. Use the [ and ] keys to resize them or the 9 and 0 keys to move them up/down. The keys may be different if you’re on a Mac computer. You can look up some of the many tutorials online about all the cool functions these cheats and key commands will unlock.

8.     An item vanishes from floor/ surface or goes into my Sim inventory when I try to remove/ recolor a wall, window or some other item.

This has been a reoccurring issue with CC items and with EA’s own items for years. Sometimes a new patch fixes it, sometimes another patch reintroduces it. I know it’s annoying, but unfortunately, it happens. In some cases, the batch fix options from Sims4Studio can temporarily solve the issue.
