I hope it's okay to add to this! It's not laptop specific but I hope some of the info is still useful for set up. If not, please disregard!
I use an IKEA table with an adjustable metal easel to prop up my iPad to draw without hurting my wrist:
The easel has been a life saver for my wrist, and in the past I've used it with both a wacom and a huion tablet.
As far as laptops go, we don't have photos of this anymore, but for a while we had a laptop set up that looked kind of like this.
Except replace the keyboard with a tablet. (However some people prefer keyboard short cuts readily available, so an extra keyboard might be helpful).
Having the monitor at your eyeline (if the drawing software is seen on the monitor and not the tablet itself) may require either an extra monitor or the laptop to be raised.
This is my spouse's set up (they are a graphic motion designer and draw a lot after work so there's a lot more going on here).
The key points are still the same. One monitor is raised so both are at eyesight. And there's enough room between the tablet and monitor for the keyboard to comfortably sit for shortcut commands.
For both set ups, if your wrists are not parallel to the top of the desk, it can put a lot of pressure on it and cause damage. I didn't know I had to adjust my chair so my wrist was not at an angle, but it made a huge difference once my spouse corrected it.
After switching from traditional art to digital art at a desk, I learned that a desk can't bend to accommodate your posture like a laptop lap pillow can, so you have to adjust your posture to accompdate the desk.
I have no experience with standing desks or drafting desks unfortunately. I do however have a close friend who does digital art for a living crouched on their chair like a gargoyle, so not every set up works for everyone.
artists who draw at a desk, what kind of desk are you using? I usually draw sitting on my bed with one of those lap drafting board things but moved into a new apt where I have room for a desk, but have no idea what kind is good for a digital step (laptop + wacom). Are you guys using drafting tables? Standing desks with the multiple platforms? I'm losing my mind
A Nermut Bundaloy! Made this as a thank you for a mutual for am Xmas card exchange. I haven’t listened to Mission to Zyxx in a while but it seems like I need to listen to the whole series again.

Got pics of the boy! Really happy with how this one came out, especially the shimmery scales. I'm also really happy with how absolutely squelching he looks.
Tried to capture the color-shift properties of the metallics (Don't mind my shaky hand lol). I used a green/yellow paint as the base, then did a few layers of silver/magenta paint just on top.
More pics after the break!
Though the mud on the fish was part of the original sculpt, the base was mostly just flat. I decided to sculpt some more mud to go with the mud already on him! After painting I added some fake pooling water to complete the look.
My wife suggested I throw a little grass in the pools of water. It was the right choice tbh
This is my son!!! He lived to be an old man and always looked like a baby till his last day. I cried when @xochilexart showed me this. He was the best boy.
Finally got some good pics of Toby! This piece is also a bit of a memorial to a real life pomeranian named Toby, may he rest in peace.
Because of this, I wanted to make him a sort of display case. I experimented with a dice box and some foam. I wanted him to also be a playable mini, so you can still remove him from the base. I think the design of the display could use some tweaks, but it worked better than expected!
I also want to make him a better label, but for now the simple one serves it's purpose.
The figure is from one of the doggy sets of Animal Adventures
Very different from normal stuff but idk I was in a messy painting kind of mood and I don’t have the energy or space to pull out canvasses. No reference used this time but next time I want to do a desert landscape with reference.
I can’t believe I never posted this on here. It’s from 2 years ago when I was testing out procreate. I usually find just dark red/orange/forest green palettes for Metroid, which is still super cool, but if you know any fanart with other color palettes (pastel, vaporwave, rainbow, etc) let me know!
Part 2 in my series of rewatching my favorite 90s/early 00’s shows. (click here to see Daria’s sketch)
Home Movies is such a delight. The dialogue is fantastic, and the vibe of making your own little cinematic masterpieces out of cardboard and dreams as a kid is spot on.
It’s made by Loren Bouchard and Brendon Small. Loren Bouchard then did Bob’s Burgers, which shares the voice actor of H. Jon Benjamin as Coach McGuirk here and Bob Belcher in Bob’s Burgers. Brendon Small (who is also the main character in this show, also named Brendon Small) went on to make Metaloclypse.
