This was my second attempt at reading SGJ's books. I definitely found it easier to get into this one than with The Only Good Indians. The plot was interesting, and the setup of the main character telling his story was engaging. I just felt like the repetition of words was a bit much (which is a pet peeve of mine with any book), and the ending was somewhat disappointing. It seemed like there could have been more action at the end; it fell a bit flat for me. Overall, I was engaged with the story and plan to give this author another chance in the future.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Disney High by Ashley Spencer
This brought back memories for me as I was a tween during this time and watched a ton of Disney Channels. Really bittersweet and heartbreaking at times. The author did a really great job of touching on the hard topics and handling them delicately but not holding back at the same time.

⭐️⭐️⭐️
The topic of this book is really what kept me reading. I was really intrigued but the dry tone was really dragging down the book for me. It read a bit like a text book and took me longer than I thought it would to get through.

This is probably my favorite baby make so far. I just had a faint idea for a painted sign for his room, Jordan threw out the idea of a forest and I went with a lord of the rings theme font since Jordan loves the movies and his name fits the theme.
