I hadn’t weighed in on the situation down in #Lakewood yesterday, but I should’ve. @southsidesandwichshop proudly supported Israel, the IDF, and America with flags out front, only to get lambasted for it by some local anti-Zionists pressuring the hashgacha to pressure the restaurant to remove the flags. I’m not using this post to point fingers or lay blame, but rather to support the restaurant showing it’s love for the state of the Jewish people. You know, I’ve kind of avoided driving down to #Lakewood for a few years now (it’s a sheep from Long Island) and this story initially did not make me want to go at all... until I realized that there are plenty of reasons to go, including to support my brothers at SSSS&S and many of the other 🇮🇱 supporting kosher businesses there. I love it when I get my everything bagel lightly toasted, and the cream cheese just oozes out of the bagel like this. This particular 🥯 #bagel is from @modernbreadandbagel — the brand new kosher & fully #glutenfree eatery & bakery on the #UWS. This #margheritapizza comes from one the best dairy restaurants in #Jerusalem — @anna_italian_cafe — located in the same building as Beit Ticho (Ticho House), mere steps from Kikar Zion in the center of the city. The food is only one reason to visit... the restaurant employs at risk youth and gives them a second chance. So I’ve had success this past year with fake meat and real cheese burgers (aka Impossible Burgers), and most of them that I’ve tried were between passable to amazingly good. This is @thecanteenbk’s “Possible Burger” — real beef burger with fake cheese made with coconut milk (which I’ve been drinking a lot of lately). #🍔 I’m definitely willing to give this a shot.
