I'm not really cemented on anyone's side here- personally I think it was disgusting of Tony Khan to give the thumbs up on releasing this footage for nothing more than heat between two tag teams who were not involved.

I've also never personally been a massive fan of Punk. His run in AEW was really good, especially his whole heat with MJF- but his behaviour that was always excused as 'heat' was beyond a joke. His little quips when he finally ended up getting back into WWE (a company that he spent years slating) felt like a kick in the teeth, and he knew it.

Yes, this is professional wrestling. Yes, things like this happen in locker rooms and behind the scenes all the time. Yes, this was not a one sided moment.

The bottom line is:

. Tony Khan should not have released this footage

. Jack Perry should not have made his comment towards punk at all. He should have been more than suspended.

. Punk shouldn't have hit a coworker- or gone for his boss.
