really love dynamics that are like 'it honestly doesn't matter if you view them as romantic or platonic, the point is that they love each other. the type of love is inconsequential, all that matters is that it's there'. gotta be one of my favorite genders.

Presumed Dead
This might be a niche interest but personally I love when a kidnapped character has been mia for months, maybe even a few years, to the point when everyone else in their life has basically run out of gas trying to find them. They've tried everything. No leads. The authorities have stopped searching, everyone has called it quits. They've all mourned and grieved and cried, but basically they've all started trying to pick up the pieces and move on with their lives.
Only for the bad guy who captured the kidnapped character to whip them out as the ace up their sleeve in a negotiation when their own back is up against the wall. And not even prefacing it with a "Would you like your friend back?" or a "What would you do if I told you X was still alive?" Just showing up to the negotiation with X in tow, bound and gagged and in what is clearly an agonizing amount of pain, but somehow they're still breathing, after all this time...

Red’s such a beautiful color. Many pieces of her closet were comprised of the color. Wearing it made her feel powerful, alluring, confident.
But she never realized this feeling before.
The color of red on someone else. Her. The way it adorned this woman’s hair and painted her face. Ranging from a bright red to then transition to a darker, near black shade, it took Asami’s head to a cloudy high. Hovering over her, Asami trailed a hand carefully over the freshly exposed cooling skin and fiddled with the frayed fabric of the blue dress.
What a shame, she thought. A high-end label dress gone to waste. Oh well.
Such was the life and budget of those of the celebrity class.
Asami could at least understand that much from this woman’s perspective.
Many times she hated pulling the Sato name card. Thought it was despicable for people to try and get close to her for the rich benefits alone. She had enough of that all her life growing up. Having fought tooth and nail to get to where she was now, she demanded respect for her contributions. Her power. She had grown into the name, making contributions outside of only being Hiroshi’s daughter.
She would not be made a fool of. Both professionally and personally.
Lucky the security guard was a fan of her work. With a hair flip and wink in their direction she was able to slip in and out, save the light clicking of her heels along the clean flooring.
Sashaying through the hallways and back to the table where her husband sat, Asami picked up her one abandoned cigarette for a hit.
“You were gone for a minute. Was the trip to the bathroom okay?” he asked.
Expelling the smoke, she stamped it out in the ashtray and looked at him sweetly. “Of course, honey. I think I’ve had it for the night, let’s head back home.”
Thick brows furrowed in question. “Are you sure? We’re going to miss the final act. They should probably be coming on soon. I know you were looking forward to seeing them.”
A flash to earlier in the night of the woman’s flirtatious touches and giggles toward her husband. She, apparently blind to Asami next to him. Then to the red now splayed around her as the corona of a star.
No. Of a virus more like it.
Asami blinked back to herself and stared at her husband sweetly. Cupping his cheek, lips curled to a smile. “I’m sure. I don’t think she’s worth it anymore.”

Cold hand in warm hands, pulling someone into a hug, pushing a strand of hair behind their ear.
It was raining. Of course it was. A fitting day for the skies to mourn.
Falling to his knees, Tenzin held her tight with trembling hands, brushing the damp strands of hair. From clinging to the sides of her face to behind her ear, he tried to smile.
There.
Now he could see her much better.
He desperately thumbed the new cut at her eyebrow, watching it sluggishly dribble out. Squeezing the meat of her palm while studying her face, he prayed and searched. A twitch of an eyelid, corner of her mouth twisting in a fit…
Anything.
But there was nothing.
Her body… heavy and cold as lead.
He wouldn’t hear her voice, admire how she’d carry herself,... the memories already didn’t feel like enough.
His thumb ghosted over her lower lip as he held back the pressure building up behind his eyes and in his throat.
A salty tear escaped him, crashing on her cheek.
Dammit. He shouldn’t cry for her like this. He lost that right a long time ago.
He was too late and let her down.
Again.

Having combustion bender Iroh thoughts.
During one of his deployments he's caught in the crossfire and taken out. When he comes to, he finds himself in the hands of the enemy.
Their underlying intentions are revealed to be a revival of the Red Lotus.
A talented fire bender and tactical general would be a fine subject to be part of their project
Cue the torture and gruesome details that's needed to become a combustion bender.
Amongst all those who were "recruited" for the project, Iroh and a few others are the ones who make it out alive.
But he's a changed man.
What are his intentions when the "initiation" is complete?
How could he break free?
Can he go back home to his family? What would life there be like? How would they have coped in his absence, believing him to be dead or missing in action.
...Would he even want to?

Hello! :D
#s 1, 2, 3, 13, 17, and 29 for the fanfic writing asks?
Hey heyy!
1. Do you daydream a lot before you write, or go for it as soon as the ideas strike?
Most of the time, yes. When there’s a scene that comes to mid, I let it simmer in my brain like a bowl of soup. When I think it’s ready (or the idea won’t leave me alone lmao), then I’ll get to writing it.
2. Where do you get your fic ideas?
Usually from songs I listen to or other media I consume such as books or shows. Also reading what other people write inspires me!
3. Do you share your fic ideas, or do you keep them to yourself?
I end up keeping them to myself. Might be silly reasoning, but I usually end up thinking, “ugh it’s such a dumb idea, why would I even bother sharing?” Then I’ll keep stuff to myself and then post when it’s done.
It’d be too late and I couldn’t go back hahah!
13. Do you listen to music while you write?  If yes, what have you been listening to recently?
While writing? No, not often. I have background sounds, so I’m not in total silence, but I like to listen to music to get in the right mindset for the characters before writing.
One of the songs that helped me with a future fic is Bloom by Aqyila
17. Do you have a writing routine?
Rub my hands together and place them on my hips while looking at the WIP thinking, “hmm what’re we working with today?” then dive in and hope for the best!
29. What’s something about your writing that you’re proud of?
I like to think I’ve gotten better with approaching certain topics. Usually ones that are heavy in emotion or more mature content.
Fics such as The weight of a promise, ride like my honeydew, I wanna swim in your skies, and kick dirt under your feet and swing come to mind in particular
Still a ways to go, absolutely, but… better than I was before

"w-when you said you wanted to celebrate...I..I didn't-"
"Think it'd be something like this?" Asami smirked, her eyes low and devious.
Iroh looked so beautifully helpless bound to the post of their bed.
She had spent a few weeks researching and practicing different ties and settled on a very pleasing design where the rope crossed over his chest in neat rows. His arms were constricted behind his back and she could admit his position looked a tad uncomfortable.
perfect..
"Do you want to stop?" She asked with a polite charm.
Asami looked beautiful in a bodysuit made of mesh and lace. If he didn't concentrate he would catch himself slipping. This whole practice was about discipline wasn't it?
Iroh lowered his eyes, almost to a close. He was flustered beyond belief, hot from the sweat and sensations. The only thing clothing him was the imprint of her red lipstick.
Asami approached the bed and he felt his muscles twitch out of instinct...anticipating her touch again.
She dragged her gaze up his body and stopped at the junction between his legs. His eyes were fixed in that spot as well.
The metal ring snug around the base of his shaft constricted the blood flow and kept him hard. achingly so...
He was engorged, reddened and sensitive. The denial of release was the game Asami was playing and as she waited for him to reply to her question he could see the gears shifting in her head. Brewing up new punishments he'd have to endure.
He was a military man. He'd been through far worse intensive training. Or at least that's what he told himself in the moment.
He lifted his eyes to meet her with his brows curved in submission.
"No.."

5, 11, 64, 70, 74! 🤗
5. How many wips do you have?  What fandoms/pairings are they for?
I have… 8, I think? Five are for each of the weeks for ATLA rare pair month coming up in May, The shape of Iridescence, Say It, and I’m Yours.
The shape of iridescence: Irosami
Say It: Linzin
I’m Yours: EraserMic
For rare pair month I have Yingsu/Yangchen, three Ryu/Kuvira, and Tenzin/The Council Page
11. Do you write scenes in order, or do you jump around
When writing a chapter more often than not, I tend to write scenes in order. But every now and then, there are stubborn fics where I end up bouncing around. Certain scenes stand out to me more than others, so I’ll write those first. Going back to review, I’ll write the missing scenes around what I already have that I think could beef it up more/flesh out the story.
64. If you rewrote [insert fic] now, would you change anything?
A fic wasn’t specified, so I’ll pick Hurts Like Hell. I would have added more filler to draw out the angst and flesh out Asami’s life back in RC better during the three year gap. But I was impatient and didn’t think anyone would’ve cared or wanted me to do that lmao.
70. Are you subscribed to any writers on AO3?
I’m subbed to most of my mutuals, or works/series they post. I try (key word "try") to not spend much time scrolling through ao3. The goal of reading a backlog of fics 1-2x/week keeps me from getting distracted. Getting emails help me keep track of when they upload, so it doesn’t slip my mind to go back to their fics and read/kudos/comment when I can dedicate the time.
74 . Do you have a fic you wish got a bit more love?
Probably Kiss Me, Kill Me. It was based on the prompt to use all the lyrics of a song in a short story and ended up being one of the more challenging fics I’ve written. It pushed me out of my comfort zone and got me to try several new things I wouldn’t have necessarily considered before!

Fic: Simmering Desire
Summary: Iroh and Asami take a bath
A challenge for 100 word smut drabble. On ao3 here
Stroking their leg
They had been in the bath for… how long now? No matter.
All Asami could focus on was Iroh’s chest moving behind her with each breath, one of his hands caressing a breast while the other lazily stroked her inner thigh.
A little higher… lower… then higher again.
Spirits, Iroh was a tease.
Her heart raced with shallow exhales. She clung onto his thighs, needy to ground herself.
“Do you need me to heat the water more?” His ask low, intoxicating the thin space between.
Craning her neck to nibble on his earlobe, she murmured, “It’s plenty warm right here.”

Forehead kisses, relieved kisses, running their thumb over the other’s hand
“It… hurts,” Asami panted, fresh coming down from the furious grasp of a contraction. They were but a few minutes apart now. Getting longer and quickly ramping up in intensity. Eyes wild and searching, she looked to the door, then to her dad. “Where is he? He should be here! Did something happen? I need him,” she pleaded.
Using his free hand to check his phone, Hiroshi shook his head wearily before putting his phone away and taking Asami’s clammy hands back in his. “I’m so sorry, sweetie.”
His name a ghostly whisper through the space between her teeth. Iroh…
While immeasurable pain racked her body, it still couldn’t compare to the strain in her heart and lungs which threatened to tear her apart. “He needs to be here, now!” She knew how childish she sounded with her demands, but she couldn’t care. Asami threw her head back on the pillow letting the sting behind her eyes take over. Her vision blurred until the flood of tears spilt over. And then more.
“Asami! Are you okay? Do I need to get a nurse?”
Drawn from her emotional state by the familar voice, she turned to the door and beamed.
“Iroh!”
Before Asami could even finish calling for him, he was already by her side to take over where Hiroshi stood.
Iroh brushed back several sweaty strands of her hair before pressing his lips to her forehead.
“I’m so glad you made it… I– I can’t do this without you,” she said, nearly on the verge of tears again.
He squeezed her hand, tracing an arc with his thumb on top. “You won’t have to. I wouldn’t be anywhere else.”
Asami brought his lips to hers fiercely, a renewed sense of strength coursing through her to help bring their daughter into the world.
