Not too bad, trying to get details on the edge without blowing out the highlights too much. Second shot is the next night, think that came out even better; no clouds passing by for starters.

Centaurus A aka Caldwell object 77. Tricky little bugger to get a shot of but this worked; 100 stacked photos.

C77 is a peculiar elliptical galaxy and is apparently the result of a collision between two otherwise normal galaxies, which led to a fantastic jumble of star clusters and dark, imposing dust lanes. Near the galaxy's center, leftover cosmic debris is steadily being consumed by a central supermassive black hole; so not a place for a tourist trip.

Yup, got a good night. Still not 100% on best technique/practice but here I managed to get a set of four in one night. Clockwise from top left we have Constellation Carina, M17, M20 and M24.

Gonna try again on M24 with a different filter and/or much longer as there is some color there to be found; that was 97 shots stacked, maybe double it up.

An M8 try where I manually removed some cloudy frames and stacked. Definitely promising but I would love to know what the scope is doing to bring out the different colors whereas I have a lot more reds.

Off for a fancy retirement dinner at La Barachois restaurant on the east coast. Quite remote for Mauritius, a valet and only 3 outside guests on the list for the evening. Quite a place eating on floating pontoons over the water. Full on Hong Kong pricing, 400 usd for 2, yowsas, you can spend some cash down here. Veal chop and lobster tails for mains and a bottle French grand cru.

M8 - would have liked more stacking time to improve this but the clouds would not give me a break....and now its raining. This was a 47 image stack that I would have liked to be more like 150.

Some black angus steak from Australia goes onto the bbq tonight - fortunately I found a cheap instant read temperature probe because this was not cheap at around 65 usd (for Mauritius I am sure it borders on insane).

Off to Le Table de Chateau for dinner; a really nice restaurant only 20 mins or so from the front door.

Lunch by the pool - gazpacho, toasted black forest ham and cheesers, some All Gold tomato sauce and tomatoes with buffalo mozzarella.

Some money around here that is for sure although knowing the roads, to be honest, I would have no interest in the black behemoth.
