weeks passed and you hadn’t seen your boyfriend. he was busy with promotions and you with your college classes. not seeing each other for months was a common occurrence but it didn’t change the lonely pit in your stomach.

that’s why you practically jumped out of your bed when your boyfriend texted you that he was outside your apartment building. you threw on a large sweatshirt, and sweatpants.

you rushed downstairs and pushed the door open. there he was. his frame drowned in a large hoodie you bought him and a pair of basketball shorts. a bright smile broke onto his face as you moved toward him.

“hey, prince..” his deep voice drifted into your ears like a sweet melody and you hugged him tightly.

“hi tyun..” you smile and bury your face in his neck. he holds you tightly around the waist as you reunite for the first time in a while.

you two stood there for a while, basking in each other’s embrace. taehyun was the first to pull away, looking you in the eye. “have you eaten?”

“uhmm,” you smile shyly and look away, “no…”

taehyun chuckles and ruffles your already messy hair, “alright, what do you want to eat?” he tilts his head as he asks, eyes widening slightly.

you hum in thought, taking one of your boyfriend’s hands into your own. “how about hotteok?”

he smiles and nods, “i was craving something sweet.. you know me so well, babe.”

you lightly smack taehyun’s shoulder, receiving a small scream in response. he dramatically clutches his shoulder.

“come on, dummy..” you laugh, hooking your arm around his, “c’mon, there should be a stand nearby.”

taehyun chuckles and falls in step with you. “how are your classes?” he asks in a soft voice, glancing over at your profile briefly.

“they’re alright. i’m getting ready for next month’s exams…” you pout your lips as you speak, already feeling the stress kick in.

“they’re next month, don’t worry about them just yet..~” taehyun chuckled, pulling you closer by the waist.

“you’re right.” you leaned your head against his for a moment, sighing softly, “how’re promotions?”

“our last music show is in a couple hours. then i’ll be all yours.” he replied, looking down at his wrist watch. “are you coming to the pre-recording?”

“i didn’t get picked, no. i’ll be cheering you on from my apartment!” you squeeze his arm, giving him a big smile.

before he could reply, you dragged him to the small hotteok stand. he let you do the talking as you ordered two of the treats and paid.

“thank you so much, sir!” you bowed gratefully before turning around. you handed a hotteok to your boyfriend and began to walk down the road again.

“you’re so cute.” taehyun mumbled after taking a bite of the food. he chuckled as he caught the playful glare you shot him.

both of you ended up at a small, isolated park. you sit on a swing, taehyun coming up behind you and leaning into you.

you looked up at him, humming happily, “y’know, you could sit on the other swing…”

taehyun shakes his head, slipping his arms over your shoulders and leaning down. you continued to watch him, your eyes flickering down to his lips for a moment.

your boyfriend let out a soft laugh, pressing a short and sweet kiss to your lips. “i like it here, though..~”

feeling your face heat up, you look away, “you’re so evil…” you murmured, feeling taehyun lightly nose your temple.

“evil?” the pout in taehyun’s voice was painfully obvious as you continued to look away. he hugged you tighter and buried his face in your neck, “do you mean it, prince?”

you melted into an embrace with a soft sigh, “no, you’re not… you’re too sweet.” you press a kiss to your boyfriend’s cheek.

taehyun let out a quiet but adorable cheer. he wriggled you around in his embrace and pressed multiple kisses to your face.

instead of hiding, you gladly accepted the affection. sadly, it was cut off by the sound of taehyun’s phone ringing. he didn’t answer at first, pressing a kiss to your lips.

he pulled away and answered, “hello?” your ears perked up as you tried to figure out who had called. your faces were practically pressed together as you attempted to eavesdrop.

“okay, i’ll start heading back.” taehyun whined slightly. it was followed by brief silence and then a, “mhm, bye.”

you moved away as your boyfriend put his phone back into his pocket. “was that manager jisoo?”

“yeah, i have to get back to the dorm. we’re leaving soon.” he nodded, giving a firm kiss to your head.

“well, thank you for coming to see me.” you smile nonetheless, peppering kisses to taehyun’s cheek.

“i’ll walk you home.” your boyfriend said, giving you a playful glare when you were about to protest. “c’mon babe~”

you let out a dramatic sigh and stand up from the swing, “fine~” after taking taehyun’s hand in yours, you two left the park and walked to your apartment building.

“make sure to get some rest, and don’t skip meals.” taehyun said, looking you in the eye. he didn’t smile until he watched you nod. “don’t worry about staying awake to see the show either.”

you pout a little, “but what kind of boyfriend would i be if i didn’t watch your last music show performance?”

“you can always watch the replay.” taehyun tilted his head a little, still smiling. he pulled you into his arms without waiting for your response.

you couldn’t help but melt into his embrace, enjoying the last couple moments together for who knows how long.

“i love you, tyunnie.” you mumbled into his neck, squeezing him tightly.

“i love you too, y/n.” he replied softly, tightening his arms around you.

you stared vacantly at the walls of your bedroom, taking in a shaky breath. you’ve been trying to sleep for two hours and your boyfriend snoring behind you didn’t help.

you sat up, shooting an annoyed glare at yeonjun’s sleeping figure. tears were beginning to flood your vision and your bottom lip quivered. burying your face in your hands, you began to quietly sob.

“y/n?” yeonjun rasped from behind you.

when you didn’t reply, yeonjun sat up and wrapped his arms around your torso. he rested his head against your shoulder.

“prince, what’s wrong?” he spoke again, shifting even closer to your weeping figure.

you sniffled and wiped at your face. after a deep, shaky breath, you leaned into your boyfriend.

“i can’t get to sleep… and it’s upsetting me.”

yeonjun hummed in response. his hand trailed up from your torso to tangle in your hair. he pressed a kiss to your cheek as he thought of how to help.

“you hungry? i can make you something.” he asked after a moment, squeezing his arm around you.

you nodded slowly, feeling yeonjun’s smile against your cheek. he patted your stomach and slipped away and out of bed.

∙ literally doesn't care when the guys yell the time is up from the other side of the door

∙ when you finally do leave the closet, beomgyu's hand stays glued to yours

∙ it's not even a shock to everyone else because they secretly set you guys up

∙ calls you once you're home and asks if you'd like to try being something more with him

loss is difficult to process, don't feel bad if you're still smiling or if you're beside yourself. i haven't fully processed it and i don't know if i ever will. everyone stay safe and make sure to know your hotlines. i wish the best for everyone affected and especially for the moon family.

for anyone who brings in other people, complain about the companies, and use a tragedy like this as a point, you belong in the deepest pit of hell.

in light of moonbin's passing- it's okay if you distract yourself. it's okay if for awhile you just pretend like it didn't or isn't happening. you're not a bad person if you laugh at something else after hearing the news or smile or feel other feelings.

at the same time if you feel like you're wallowing in grief, that's okay too. it's a complicated process. it's hard to understand. all i know is that he'll be missed a lot.
