I'm high as fuck at medieval times and trying so hard to look normal. My friend pointed at a QR code and went "What is the meaning of this Rune..." and I almost threw up trying not to laugh

I think 50 shades of grey did so much damage to BDSM writing in fic and like not because I think fic writers were taking inspiration from it, but we did get a lot of detailed explanatory posts about all the different ways in which those guys were Doing It Wrong, which is not in and of itself a bad thing but since then everybody got so hung up on making sure everybody in their fics was nothing like 50 shades of grey and actually demonstrates that yes I do understand the principles of safe sane and consensual and the traffic light system and safewording and aftercare and checking in that now everybody fucks like a 101 handbook and I think we've only just recently started to recover from it. love me a dynamic where it's two repressed freak idiots who accidentally invent BDSM all on their own and have to come up with the strangest most deeply harmful ways of navigating that situation

everyone needs to become some brand of totally fucking insane for a little bit because it changes ur whole mindset.. like u need to get to a place where when u see a person at the frayed end of their rope barely hanging on by a single thread your immediate thought is "how awful. it is by luck and circumstance alone that i am not in that position" rather than "wow. succks for them and i feel bad but at least it will never happen to me" what im saying is you need to develop the grace to accept that the panhandler youre giving $$ to might be off to buy crack and find peace in the idea that its literally none of your business because if you were in their situation u might also want to be on crack. because if you lived the life that person lived beat for beat crisis for crisis blow for blow, statistically, you would not have a vastly different outcome despite the fact that you are currently able to judge them from a place of comfort and stability.

There's a lot of queers out there that find it hard to plan for a future wherein society doesn't want them in it. Can you offer a queer reading list of queer folx who have resisted authoritarian regimes? Any particular figures that stand out? Quotes? Are there other Claude Cahuns in history to offer inspiration in these times? Any stories of support networks that persisted throughout the AIDs genocide like the San Diego Blood Sisters? I'm sorry for so many questions; this topic has been weighing heavily on me.
I absolutely understand this, and I have some stories for you.
For articles:
George Everett Klippert tells the story of a man who changed the shape of a country because he was loved.
Jackie Shane tells the story of a trans woman of colour in the fifties who had a happier story than you'd expect.
Simon Tseko Nkoli tells the story of a man who fought back.
Elvira de la Fuente Chaudoir, A.K.A Agent Bronx tells the story of a woman who survived.

Thinking about risking my whole life and everything I could ever possibly have in the future for devoting my entire everything at all times into delivering the most poetic middle finger I could to the richest possible person I could possibly imagine with a punchline that could maybe only ever be truly appreciated when viewing our history from the perspective of millennia having passed since we long evolved into something else.
#baked#insomnia#if everything went right it would be the very perfect revenge for having to have lived the life if i have to live it#im like high#horny#sad#elated?#like this is an idea and feeling and revenge fantasy that needs introspection at least#or to excised and bled and moved on from#its something that needs addressing for myself at the very least
