This is my first go at posting lyrics translations. Let me know if you have any organization suggestions or questions about the translation. I am still learning, so if there is anything I have translated wrong, do let me know.

Understanding Vocabulary!
Verse 1 Understanding 💧 그치지 않기를 바랬죠. = I hoped it (the rain) would not stop. • 그치다 = [V] To stop, cease (usually rain, snow, tears) • [V]/[A]~지 않다 = To not be, to not do, not - This is attached to a verb or adjective, and is less direct and more polite than using the equivalent "안 + [V]/[A]". To sound most natural, ~지 않다 is typically always used regardless for longer words, and 안 for shorter. • [V]/[A]~기(를) 바라다 = To wish/hope for (something) - Sometimes, 를, or even sometimes 를 바라다, is left out in this phrase (we will see later on in this song an example of this). • ~지요 (죠) = Has a few different meanings: - (1) Can be used when the speaker wants to confirm or reconfirm with the listener something already known ("right?" or "isn't it?") - (2) A soft disagreement or way of saying "that's not right" ("that's not quite right, is it?"). - (3) When used with something that both the speaker and listener know, it can be a statement of fact or shared opinion ("It's something we both know") - I assume this is more of what the song is using the ~죠 ending for. 💧 처음 그대 내게로 오던 그날에 = On that day you first came to me, • 처음 = [N] The first time, first, the beginning • 그대 = [N] A corny, romantic, or endearing way of saying 'you.' - This is usually only used in poetic songs, poems, or older pop songs with a 'classic love' concept. • 나에게 (내게) = [N] To me, for me, with me • ~(으)로 = [Particle] To, toward, by, with, as, as a [N], because of, due to. - Can be used to express direction (toward, into, onto), means or method of something (by, with, using), cause or reason (due to, because of), or choice/selection (as, into). Generally, it has a lot of different meanings. Here, it is expressing direction. • 내게로 = To me, towards me • 오다 = [V] To come • ~던 = [Modifier] Used to (be), as it was (in my memory/as I am recalling it) - Can be used to express three things: (1) something that happened often in the past, (2) something that was happening in the past but stopped, and (3) recalling how something used to be. In this case, it is attached to meaning #2 because it is describing an in-progress action from the past. • 그 = That (referring to something you cannot touch, or that is in your mind/memory). • 그날 = [N] That day • ~에 = [Particle] To, at, on, in - This can be used in a variety of ways: (1) time (at, on, in), (2) location (at, in), (3) direction (to, toward), (4) target of action/recipient (to, for), (5) purpose/goal/result (for, as, to become), or (6) frequency (per) • 그날에 = On that day 💧 잠시 동안 적시는 그런 비가 아니길 = that it would not be the kind of rain that soaks you for a while • 잠시 = [Adv] For a moment, briefly, for a short time • 동안 = [N] While, for, during, time • 잠시 동안 = [Adv. phrase] For a short while, for a moment, for a little while • 적시다 = [V] To soak, to get something wet, to make wet • 그럴 (그렇다 + ㄹ) = [A] That kind of, that sort of (thing that happens or is), to be like (that) - The future particle for adjectives mid-sentence is done by adding ㄹ to the adjective stem. • 비 = [N] Rain • 아니다 = [A] To not be • 아니길 (아니기를) = I hope (it is) not. - Here, the phrase leaves out 바란다 and combines 기 and 를 to form 길. It still has the same meaning as 아니기를 바란다 (It is not + the object possessing 를 + (I hope).) 💧 간절히 난 바래왔었죠. = I have been desperately hoping (meant to be combined with the third line (i.e., "I have been desperately hoping that it would not be the kind of rain that soaks you for a while). • 간절히 = [Adv] Desperately, earnestly, eagerly, sincerely, anxiously • 바래오다 = [V] To have been hoping (and continuing up to now) - This is a compound verb implying the action of hoping over a period leading up to the present. • ~었었 = An action in the past that has now stopped (i.e., had done something) • 바래왔었다 = [V] Had been hoping, had wished (for some time in the past, but now no longer)
Pre-Chorus 1 Understanding 💧 그대도 내 맘 아나요? = Do you even know how I feel? • 도 = [Particle] Even, again, even though • 내 = My • 맘 (마음) = [N] Heart, feelings • 알다 = [V] To know, be aware of • [V]~나요? = A way of checking information. - 나요 is used for verb endings, whereas (으)ㄴ 가요 is for adjective endings. When conjugated with 알다, the ㄹ is dropped because 알다 is an irregular verb. Instead, it forms "아나요?" 💧 매일 그대만 그려왔던 나를 = Me, who only pictured/yearned for you every day • 매일 = [N] Every day • 만 = [Adv] Only • 그리다 = [V] To miss/yearn/picture/long for • 그려왔던 = The thing that I had been picturing/imagining, the thing I had been longing for. • 나를 = [N] I + object particle 를 💧 오늘도 내 맘에 스며들죠. = It (suddenly) seeps into my heart again today. • 오늘 = Today • ~에 스며들다 = [V] To permeate. - Used when someone/something comes into your heart without knowing it.

Bridge 💧 잊고 싶던 아픈 기억들도 = Even the painful memories that I want to forget • 잊다 = [V] To forget • [V]~고 싶다 = [V] To want to (do) • 아프다 = [A] To hurt, be in pain, painful • 기억 = [N] Memory • ~들 = [Particle] Plural marker 💧 빗방울과 함께 흘려 보내면 돼요. = I/You can just let them flow away together with the raindrops. • 빗방울 = [N] Raindrop • 함께 = [Adv] Together (with) • 흘리다 = [V] To trickle, flow, spill, shed, drop • 보내다 = [V] To send • 흘려 보내다 = [V] To let something flow by • [V]~(으)면 되다 = It is okay if, you can (do), just - This is used to give someone permission to do something. 💧 때로는 지쳐도, 하늘이 흐려도 = Sometimes when you are tired, or even when there are clouds in the sky, • 때로 = [Adv] Sometimes, from time to time, occasionally • 지치다 = [A] To be tired, exhausted, worn out • 흐리다 = [V] To be cloudy, unclear, blurry 💧 내가 있다는 걸 잊지 말아요. = Do not forget that I exist/am here. • 내가 있다 = I exist • [V]~다는 걸 = Ending that is used to form a noun clause - This essentially turns the verb into a noun phrase that can be used as the subject or object of the sentence. • [V]~지 말다 = Do not (do)
