Jedi Fallen Order connected with sequel trilogy?

I just saw new gameplay of Fallen Order and I sooo intrigued! I suppose the main quistion we all need to think about right now is why Cal is so strong with the Force and why the hell he uses the same ability as Kylo Ren? I remember tons on theories about Kylo and Snoke related with ancient siths... Remember construction of Kylo’s lightsaber which, accordind to Rebels season 3 was designed exactly as the ancient one? And now, that ancient lightsaber Cal has... I see here a possibility what all this things are connected somehow. And, hey, can we be sure, that the Fallen Order is the Jedi Order only? Or, ok, can we be sure that the story is only about Dark Times between episodes III and IV? Can it also be about exploring the Jedi and the Sith origins? In the first trailer we have already seen planet looks like Moraband. And it has been said that ep IX is going to finish the Siths-Jedi conflict. So, in that way it is logical to show us some pieces of old times.

So, maybe ancient lightsaber somehow gives Cal an opportunity to use knowledge of past which Kylo learned from Snoke? It looks possible for me, remember, in TFA Rey had something like connection with Skywalkers lightsaber and was able to see pictures of past and future. And in that way Cal’s storyline can tell us some interesting things about Kylo’s skills and their original.

Билли Лурд всё же сыграла Рей... в каком-то смысле.

Смотрю я сейчас, значит, новый сезон AHS. Вот никогда не тянуло ознакомиться с этим сериалом, а тут вдруг у сестры на экране углядела длинноволосого красавчика-блондина и понеслось. Немножечко в восторге от того адова (в прямом и переносном смысле) звездеца, что творится на экране, но здесь не об этом, а об одной забавной штуке из третьей серии: кто-нибудь обратил внимание, насколько сильно собеседование Майкла Лэнгдона с Мэллори напоминает динамику развития отношений Рейло в SW TFA? Как и Кайло, Лэнгдон, несмотря на привилегированное положение, фактически опускается на колени перед служанкой (помните мусорщицу?), позволяет себе странный, необоснованный физический контакт, отмечает страх девушки, пытается убедить её в необоснованности этого страха. В обоих случаях герои видят некую тьму, скрытую в героинях, их привлекает тайна личностей девушек и они довольно порывисто предлагают, ну, своего рода покровительство, наверное? Или, вернее, новый путь, шанс на жизнь рядом с ними. Кстати, и Рей, и Мэллори плачут, когда речь заходит о загадках их истинных сущностей. Обеим при попытке скрыться преграждают путь их антагонисты, не желающие завершать разговор так просто. Обе девушки дают неожиданный, шокирующий и Лэнгдона, и Кайло отпор, показывают силы, равные силам обидчиков. Девушки в испуге и непонимании скрываются, оба мужчины остаются в шокированном и поражённом состоянии. Блин, ну коммон, там кое-где чуть ли не покадрово можно сравнивать! Вдвойне забавны эти параллели становятся, как только вспоминаешь, что Билли Лурд рассматривалась Абрамсом на роль Рей. Вот такие странные совпадения (или нет). 

Мне слишком лениво сейчас писать текст на английском или делать сравнение кадров, но уж очень захотелось выговориться на эту тему. Может, кому-то из русскоговорящих фанатов AHS и Рейло это окажется интересно. :))

Autumn in Russia

Если вы просите кого-то сделать что-то для вас, убедитесь, что вами предусмотрено всё возможное для того, чтобы облегчить человеку задачу. Условно говоря: если вы просите сгонять вам за булочками в пекарню, то убедитесь, что пекарня открыта, вы дали человеку правильный адрес и достаточно денег на покупку, а также держите телефон под рукой на случай, если у вашего помощника возникнут какие-то вопросы (типа, эй, подруга, тебе слойку с шоколадом или клубничную?).

Вроде очевидные вещи рассказываю, но на практике зачастую это почему-то так не работает. В условной пекарне оказывается перерыв на обед и вообще она за два дома до указанного расположена (и она ли это?), денег вам не хватает и приходится добавлять из своих, а телефоны любителя мучного все вне зоны доступа.

Не надо так, ладно?

So, after watching Solo can we say for sure what first Star Wars live-acting series will be about Qi’ra and Maul? It seems very possible for me and so promising!

I agree with most of the stuff but really think it is Po the person who will be a new Resistance leader and possible romantic interest for Rey.

It also could be very interesting because in Po and Ben I see so many similar things, like they both have curly haircuts, they are extremely good pilots, they have peculiar sence of humor, it is obvious that they both like Rey, Leia is mother-figure for two of them and I guess they both will be leaders of most powerful Galactic organizations, First Order and The Resistance/New Republic.

I don’t know is it for good or not, but Kylo-Ben could see in Po the person who he had to be himself. It is funny but I remember that some funs also have theory that Po is Force sensetive person too. So, it gives even more oportinities to rivalry...

How Kylo might deal with his shit

So if Kylo’s going to make it, I think we can agree he’s gonna have to take charge of his own shit. But he can’t do it spontaneously - there has to be a story there. The way I see it, in the moral universe of a story like Star Wars, he has to work out a few things:

Love doesn’t just have to hurt and make you weak

Being powerful and lonely feels worse than weakness

“Bringing order to the galaxy” is a sucker’s game

His feelings are not the only things that matter in the universe

Here are some story and character points (some more vague than others) that could make a difference:

Losing the last of his family (i.e. Leia) and realizing (as he’s begun to) that he’s never getting the revenge or the apology or whatever big emotional payback he’s been holding out for

Finding out what you have to do as the Supreme Leader

Helping Rey read those Jedi texts and learning for himself what the Force is all about, without mediation by Luke or Snoke and maybe with less of all that “choose the light side!” “choose the dark side!” shit so he can learn to let the dark and light co-exist in himself

Seeing Rey get genuinely tempted by the dark side and realizing he doesn’t actually want her to turn into him

Learning why his family acted the way they did and how he and they managed to so massively misunderstand each other

Getting some insight into Finn (maybe when Finn becomes the head of the Resistance and they face each other as leaders)

Learning why Rey would choose Finn, just some loser, over him, her equal in power who would make her Queen of the Universe

Talking to the real Anakin Skywalker

Some words about Ben Solo after episode IX

I have been thinking about Kylo’s future destiny since I had first seen that character in TFA. I actually see him as some kind of romanticism hero. He is alone, nobody understands him and he tries to escape from reality by wearing a mask, which gives Kylo some distance from everything. He even looks like a romanticism hero with his curly black hair, deep dark eyes and that black scarf in TFA also reminds me about romanticism period. 

So I was very upset by idea that Kylo Ren is going to die at the end of episode IX because it is that romanticism heroes usually do – they die in the end. 

But when I thought it is to easy and predictable ending for such difficult and great written character as Kylo Ren. And we have already seen so many dramas with antiheroes and villains deaths, in Star Wars also (Darth Vader in episode VI and Jacen Solo in Legends, for example). And I thought about more interesting possibility (I know that many Reylos nowadays think the same way): Kylo Ren is going to become… nobody. In TLJ Kylo said that it is Rey the person who is nobody and who has no place in all that story. Kylo is wrong. It is he who has to go away. In the way of being a romanticism hero it is he has no place in the story. And Kylo-Ben also has to pay for all his sins. The happy ending is not for him. 

After long time of thinking I am quite sure that at the end of episode IX Ben Solo will become an exile. Just like his namesake Ben Kenobi. 

And because of rumors about Kenobi’s spin-off I can say: it is poetry, it rhythms. Like Kenobi has been thinking for yeas, until the end of his life, about mistakes he had done, like Solo will do the same thing. We will watch spin-off about Kenobi, but it also will be the story about Ben Solo after episode’s IX ending. 

Rey will not go with Ben. This path of redemption only for him, Solo has to go into exile solo. And I am sure that in that way Ben will be the person who won’t let Rey to go with him. Maybe Rey will stay with Poe, the person who is all what Ben was meant to be. Maybe Ben will bless Rey to stay with Poe because he will have finally realised – try love is a sacrifice and Rey deserves better man than him. He is nobody, but she is everything. She is the hope and the future for the Galaxy, in the story, where is no more place for him. He is the past, he lives by past: by Vader’s ambitions, by pain and wounds. He should go away.

I’m almost crying, guys.

I like Reylo and I have shipped those two before TLJ. But now I have doubts and some questions about their relationships. I am writing this post because I hope somebody here on Tumblr can give me answers, like here I have already found an answer about why Kylo wasn’t honest with himself telling Luke that he is going to destroy Rey. 

So here is my main question: how we can talk about healthy relationships between Rey and Kylo if he still thinks she is nothing? I have never thought that Reylo is abusive but wait, I don’t understand Kylo’s words about Rey: “You came from nothing… You are nothing. But not for me”, - it is actually looks like a piece of shit which abuser can say to his victim. For me the meaning of Ren’s words is – you are just trash and nobody except me needs trash like you. In the same time Rey’s friends have never told her something like that. During all TFA movie Finn looks at Rey with admiration and he really thinks that it is he the person who needs to be better, as good as Rey already is. Han, Chewie, Leia, Luke, Po – they all see in Rey personality, not a place she came from. Meanwhile Kylo disappointed what the girl he heard so much about is really just an ordinary scavenger. Before TLJ I had thought: “Ok, they just met each other in TFA, Rey will be much more important to Kylo in future”… And here we are. She is important to him, but she is still nothing. I am not happy about this part of their story.

Впечатление от Bound (PS4) по следам игры

Эти выходные у меня проходят под восторженные попискивания от знакомства с Bound. Предыстория знакомства с игрой такая: Чёрная Пятница, все дела, я взяла, да и прикупила PS+ по скидону. Зашла посмотреть, что там такое непонятное выдали в этом месяце нахаляву за подписку (кроме игры про червячков, вызывающей во мне даже не скепсис, а попросту куда более ленивое и бытовое чувство недоумения). И вот, после двух вечеров нажимания на кнопочки мной и выжимая слезы из меня игрой, спешу поделиться впечатлениями.

Коротко: если вы думаете, во что бы поиграть, то шли бы вы и купили Bound себе немедленно. Я имею в виду, конечно, у нас с вами огромное количество AAA игр на любой вкус и цвет, но часто ли мы вспоминаем, что игры - действительно вполне себе серьёзный вид искусства, а не просто аттракцион на несколько часов? Вот Bound - точно искусство, причём лично меня заставившее грустить и размышлять. Почти медитативный опыт.

Говорить про игру без спойлеров ��ложно. Я бы сказала, что часть очарования заключена именно в том, что вы продираетесь через происходящий на экране сюр и пытаетесь сложить в голове вменяемую картину происходящего. Здесь Bound срабатывает шикарно: догадываетесь о смысле происходящих сюжетных перипетий вы лишь где-то к середине игры, возможно, чуть раньше, если вы шибко умненький товарищ.  

Игра достаточно простая, чтобы не дать вам запутаться и заскучать, но в то же время достаточно сложная, в плане нарратива, чтобы заставить вас пораскинуть мозгами. 

Аудио и визуал хотелось бы отметить отдельно. Работают они шикарно, на некоторых моментах я специально делала звук погромче, чтобы просто нырнуть в атмосферу с головой. Некоторые же решения по дизайну уровней вызывали прямо таки чувство детского восторга вперемешку с “а что, так реально можно?” эффектом.

После завершения игры у меня осталось куча догадок и вопросов, которые хотелось бы обсудить с друзьями (играйте в Bound, нам нужно поговорить об этом!): как вы интерпретируете сцены из осколков? Дали ли шанс Чудовищу? Такое ли уж Чудовище чудовищное? В одиночку ли оно разрушило Королевство? А что вы думаете про Королеву? С точки зрения возрастной психологии, почему Принцесса считает, что ответственность за Королевство лежит на ней? Это специфика детской психики - винить себя в случившемся или ребёнку это внушили? Как на счёт посыла борьбы со страхами с помощью искусства, вы согласны, что в игре он есть? Если да, то согласны ли вы с ним? Фух, это только темы, которые лежат на поверхности! И всего-то около двух часов геймплея... 

А вообще, надо бы обдумать всё как следует и пройти Bound ещё раз.
