The desire for perfection, the desire to be the very best. Picking the best from many. Through sacrificing everything. Such as health, their bodies, their surroundings. Missing the beauty of imperfection.
We decided to show this through fruits, picking, picking, picking until the final last bit. Out of the whole selection of fruits, only a small tiny bit was used while the rest is wasted. This is to show that humans are sacrificing things to present themselves as a perfect human in front of others. This happens to a lot of youtube vloggers and Instagram models. Where on camera they present themselves their very best but off camera their shady dark side is revealed. They also sacrifice their body, such as plastic surgery and implants. Also, a lot of people show their pretend best self in front of others to build rapport. Everyone does this to get others to like them, especially on first impressions as you never get a second chance to a first impression.
Basically, this film is a metaphor to what the current generation is thinking like, presenting their pretend best self in front of others.

ASSESSMENT 2
700 WORDS STATEMENT
After last poster research, I have more specific recognize about my topic. At the begin of this topic, I tried to research at first. During the research of gender binary, I found a photographer named ernielson limbo. His work “crossover” inspired me a lot. The first idea of this poster is combining the two genders’ facial features. I really like his idea that giving a new sense of gender identity that inspired me combine the gender facial features with strings. (limbo, n.d.)
I want to show that these two genders can have same contribution to this society. Me, as a female, strongly realized the stereotype between genders. For example, the stereotype in society that male can do science better than female, but the research shows that in history, there are many brilliant female scientists have contributed a lot to the world. A famous one is a polish- French physicist ---Marie Curie. She discovers a new chemical element which they named “radium”. (Marie Curie, née Sklodowska Biographical, n.d.)
Besides that, I have researched a famous figure that represent the society is awakening awareness of women’s rights. The film <wonder women> is a great example for it. It is about a female superhero saved the world. the stereotype of superhero is always male, and the wonder women break this stereotype to show the power of the female can be.
About my concept, it is not about feminist, I tried to show female and male are same. Besides the poster, I think I can use video to present this concept, too. To correspond to the previous poster, in this video, the main colors is still blue, red and purple. At the beginning of this video, it shows two typical images of female and male. They present two colors respectively are red and blue. The stereotype is women suppose like pink and men should prefer blue, so I want to use this video to show the they all can be purple!
“we are different, and we are same.”
“I am a woman, I like pink, but I have the right to like blue and no one have right judge me.”
As a woman, this is what I pursue form my view, however, what my video pursue is anyone can have right to pursue what they like.
At this video, just like my poster’s red and blue paper, it from a strong contrast. However, at the end it turns to purple, just like the middle of the poster. The actions that this figure did like the strings in the poster. However, present it on the video makes the concept become more vivid compare with the poster.
In this video, it randomly shows some color, which is the pervious material transparent color paper that under the lights. It Interspersed in the video that respond to the figure, at the end, the three paper all appear to highlight the concept.Besides the color, the figure’s action is a part of work. At the first, the figure is staggering in front of the camera. She is keep doing actions that shows she is nervous and anxious and keep changing between the red and blue, just one second think of purple. However, at the end of video, she chooses the purple and turn to camera then firmly watching the lens. I was going to end with the purple paper, nevertheless, I found out it could have a better effect that put the actions that figure is going to leave. After all the hesitation, she decided to be ‘purple’ and walk out. All in all, most contemporary art and design always consider two genders as opposite, maybe we should ask ourselves is it too absolute. Maybe among these typical pairs, we can find out some interesting new areas that could be treasures to art and design. Black and white is a prefect couple, but the gray also has create amazing works.

material
instead of thinking ,I tried to make a background for the poster today.
I choose the transparent coloured plastic paper just like I do last time. the main reason of this material because it is bright, especially under the sunshine. however, because it is so soft it is easy to damage so its been a challenge to cut them in shape.
the color of this poster I still want to use the red and blue. They are classic contrast color and it is typical color for gender. and the purple, it is the mix color that shows the concept of break the binaries.

material
I will still go with string like I did last time.
the first reason
it is flexible that I can make up any shapes.
the second
I was waiting my friend and so boring that I put my headphone into the holes in wall.
“do you want to listen some music? Mr.wall.”
however, I suddenly think of the lines can connect a lot of things together.
what if I use strings to connect the constructed binaries of gender, it presents the female and male can be connected together instead of keep the stereotype that they are opposites

the concept of my work  is about the break the one of the constructed binaries ---male/female. I want to show that this two gender can have same contribution to this society. Me, as a female, strongly realized  the stereotype between genders.
so I research some character that shows female has been believed can do some ‘heavy jobs’.
the first is <wonder women>. a famous movie that about a female superhero saved the world. the stereotype of superhero is always male,  and the wonder women break this stereotype to show the power of the female can be.
the second picture is a adapted comics of Popeye, an interesting discovery when I research. as we all know, this cartoon is about the Popeye eat spinach and get power, olive is only a female character that company with him. however, it changed in this picture.

Ass1 final
The idea that I choose from the topics is constructed binaries. In the first week, I draw plenty of lines that can roughly see the sketch of two side faces, which compare the differences between genders, but it still has something in common. People always compare the difference among the genders at the past day, however, at this time, sexuality has become diversity and people do not focus on the differences among genders. On the week 2 we had group work on class, which is using the materials we brought to present the idea that we choose. We used the different colours strings and sequins mix together. After this group work, it offers me a new sign of this topic, which is instead of focusing on constructed binaries, the art and design could present more commonality. On the week 3 class, we went around the campus and found a place to put the poster. The place I chose is a corner that behind the library. That is a quiet corner, and someone had planting at here. However, the wall at that corner is interesting. The reason why I chose this placebecause there are two walls have strong contrast colours and combine, even they have two colours that have great differences, it is still having something in common such as the colours and the texture. Therefore, I think it has good connection with my topic. At the final version of the poster, I use red and blue as contrast, but I use purple—the mix color of red and blue across this board. It meant to break this contrast. In the middle of this board, I use a black and a white string to sketch a face. I mix the strings and break the idea that always contrast the white and black. The idea of this face was inspired by Picasso’s abstract painting. His paintings combine facial features to express the emotion, and I use strings constitute the facial features as a face to show the equality of gender, just like this face, they are different parts but it can combine together and every part is important.
