There might come a time when you don’t perceive your Gods as much as you used to, and start feeling like they cut themselves from you. You might start to question your faith, asking yourself whether it was well-founded to begin with. You may even think that it’s a sign for you to stop believing in your deities. Such thoughts are normal and perfectly healthy, as they can help chase away dogmatism in certain situations. However, the fact that you don’t feel your deities doesn’t mean you have to stop believing in them. Your faith stems from your personal experiences and it is as much a logical decision as your values. You are free to choose to trust in your deities, even when their presence is invisible. One way or another, they will come back into your life naturally.
#this blog has been inactive for this sort of reason!#my patron is a winter god and very cycle-based#i find that our connection weakens during the warmer months!#but he leaves me with instruction to continue learning and growing#and will check back in with me when the weather is cooler#fall is starting to hit here and we're less than a month from the solstice#so i've been feeling him more lately#its neat to see the cycle come around

National Park Week
The original soundtracks of the world are the “nature songs” all around us! Also known as soundscapes, they are the audio equivalent of a landscape. Natural soundscapes can include everything from animal and bird sounds to rushing water, wind through vegetation, glacial crevassing, to thermal or volcanic activity. Birds, animals, and insects use sound to communicate, establish territory, find prey, avoid predators, connect with mates, and care for young.
What does Mount Rainier sound like? Listen to short soundscape recordings from around the park at https://go.nps.gov/MountRainierSoundscapes Sounds occur in different frequencies and are represented visually using a spectrogram, an image that incorporates frequency (y axis), time (x axis), and amplitude (brightness of color). This spectrogram represents audio recorded near Kautz Creek in 2017 of male and female Barred owls. NPS Video.

Silent Hour: a way to enjoy your home and yourself.
Hello everyone! Today Id like to recommend a "daily" practice. Or a practice I do roughly 1-2 times a week. And its called "Silent Hour". Usually I try to do this early morning or late at night as thats when I have more space to myself.
I strongly recommend this if the TV is always on or if there's just a lot going on in your day to day life!
The Point of Silent Hour
Many people have told me, Im sure youve heard it before, "I leave my tv on or I leave a youtube video up because I dont like when my house gets quiet"
Many people argue its because we dont want to be left alone with our brains. Silent hour not only gives you a chance to handle that for a short period of time. But also gives you time to relax.
The Rules/How to do Silent Hour
1. Turn off all electronics like radio, tv, computer, you can keep your phone on silent incase of an emergency or if you just need a place to write or fidget with your hands.
2. (This is the important one) NO ADDED SOUND: if you need to microwave something thats fine lets be real I make coffee during this time. You should just focus on
-No talking
-No news or shows
-No music
3. Introduce hobbies you can do (mostly) quietly for the hour so you dont get too bored lol. For me its posting on tumblr, making coffee or cooking me a lil meal. You could also try reading, writing, or something like that.
4. Enjoy the ambience of your home.
What people dont notice is your home is basically its own ambient youtube playlist. It has AC, roof creaking, weather, and the more you listen the more youll notice. Light a candle or incense if youd like. Make the time your time.
With that said this has really helped me during school to just give myself an hour here and there where I just mentally rest. I really hope this helps someone else aswell!

@lokeansuz MY BAD i hadn't turned it on. it's fixed now. Thanks for asking!! This is gonna be longer than it needs to be but i'm a yapper storyteller.
"🌻 A magical encounter in nature "
Truly it would make sense for someone who reveres nature to have a lot of these but I've actually struggled so much with actually getting outside, let alone able to be mindful enough to notice magic. Plenty of reasons for that, also plenty of reasons that it should've been easy. The important part is that I'm getting better at it.
Which is all to say that I don't have any major tales or experiences In nature. I have some with nature, though, and in honor of starting with where you're at, I'll share a magical encounter from today. This is so recent that I haven't even uploaded it to iNat yet lol.
I've been trying to go to my garden after work instead of going directly inside, and that alone has been very good for the relationship I have to the natural world around me. Ullr asked me for a lilac panicle now that the flowers are popping off, and as I was walking to set it down by the door I noticed what definitely looked like a fly at first.
I admit. I've never been very interested in ""bugs"". But part of my daily practice has been listening to audiobooks at work -- mostly prosaic ecology books. This week it's Alien Worlds by Steve Nicholls, so insects have been on my mind, and I spent a good 20 minutes observing this little native bee (genus Andrena).
Bugs also kinda make my skin crawl. I typically like them to not be touching me, but I'm much more aware now of the intelligence and gifts of these little lives. Our native bees are almost all stingless, so I nudged myself to interact with this one. They were focused on some interesting task that involved digging into the dirt, but seemed to appreciate when I blocked the wind for them and they didn't have to hunker down to the ground or get blown around.
I could say far too much as to why this mundane little spotting feels magical to me, but I think the broad strokes of it is the circumstance. We are two vastly different life forms, split from each other's lineage faaaar back when our home was entirely unrecognizable. With opposite skeletons, vastly different perspectives on the air itself, and an incomprehensible size difference. And. Both branches on the same tree, both experiencing this varied and complex existence. Both enjoying the smell of lilacs.
#this was too much i apologize alskdjf#i'll edit the post when/if i get an id#probably it will be difficult because of my funny camera quality. i'm saving for a new phone#with the express purpose of taking more bug pics#asks#my post#neighbors#photos#genus identified! post edited

being obsessed with your god’s domain before you started worshipping is so reassuring…
like what do you mean you’ve been here the whole time? that you’ve always been a part of me lying in wait? that you, the divine, has innervated & enriched my life long before i acknowledged you were divine? SICK!!!
#my friend asked me once what drew me to worship Ullr#& i couldn't answer bc that's just the way it is#i didn't have a choice here. not that id make a different one#but honestly there are reasons upon reasons#he rules the domains of some very core pieces of me. pieces i've had for a long time#idk i'm gettin sappy#ullr#gods
