Li - Magical Energy
Before I start everything in this post is still in the idea phase so thing are most likely going to change. This is also a general overview of on magical zones which are still very much in it early phase.
Li is a form of magical energy found in the mortal realm. People of Ygnuma imagine it flowing in a few different ways. The common way of imaging the flow is as rivers crossing the world called Leylines. Some scholars see Leylines more as a fabric or spiderweb spanning the world. The druids see it as the roots of the world tree, the mortal realm being the trunk of the world tree. There is one thing for certain, Li is all over the mortal realm, but not all locations are equal. There are 5 different zones a location can be called depending on how much Li is present. For these zones I will be using the common way on how Li is imagined.
Extreme Magic Zones are when Li has dangerously built up causing serve effects to the environment. One of these is the increase of dangerous magical beasts(I haven't made any yet so can't share an example). Another effect is spells that use Li become unstable and chaotic and often dangerous. This zone tend to form from either the death of a powerful magical being, a powerful spell gone wrong(or right if they intended this outcome), or the intersection of more than 5 Leylines paths.
High Magic Zones are when Li is higher than normal for extend period time. This zone is where many magical beasts call home. Unlike Extreme Magical Zones most spells using Li remain stable though they tend to be stronger. This zone is form from various things, the most common is the intersection of 3 leyline path.
Normal Magic Zone are the most common, the status quo for most places. Many of the weaker magical beasts live in this zone.
Low Magic Zones are when Li is lower than normal for extended period of time. Spells in this zone tend to be weaker than normal. Magical beasts are rare in this zone but when they are found they tend to be more aggressive starved of magical energy. This zone is formed from various things, the most common is simply having enough distance from any leylines. Another way is if powerful spells are used in succession in a short period of time(this is generally seen in war).
Dead Magic Zone are when Li is completely absent. Spells that use Li do not work here unless already prepared before hand. Magical beasts are extremely rare for in this zone and when are found they are generally no better than a rabid animal, attacking anything living. This zone is extremely rare naturally, only naturally forming when there's no leylines for great distances. This zone can also formed with the improper use of powerful spells causing the area to become devoid of Li.

Another little snippet from my idea doc
General Description Slimes looks like a amorphous turquoise blue ooze. Slime cells are multi-functional acting as the following; Muscle cells, Neurons, mechanoreceptors(Pacinian, ruffini, and merkel cells), magisynthesis cells, and membrane cells. each slime cell has a focus for example the outside part of the slime that exposed to the air will be focused on the membrane cell part even though those cells can still act like the other cells just not in a focused way. Slimes have a decentralized brain with the brain being the hub while the other cells can act like a brain allowing for quick reactions to stimuli. The core also produces more cells. They gain their energy through the process called magisynthesis. When slimes absorb enough magical energy their core will start to split and start the process of asexual reproduction. Slimes are also known for their variety due to their nature for sudden mutations based on what they eat. They have two senses; a sense of touch and magisense(Magisense is the ability to detect the disruption in ambient Li energy. This works similar to passive electrolocation, detecting the small changes to the ambient Li energy around them either from things reflecting ambient Li energy or things extruding it own magical field.). Habitats Slimes are found all over the world generally in normal and high magic zones, though slimes can be found in low and dead magic zones this is more uncommon. Behavior High Magic Zones -> Slimes are docile, basically motility acting more like plants as they just absorb the ambient magic. Normal Magic Zones -> Just like in High Magic Zones slimes are still docile and don’t move much but might wonder at times. During dips a slime might start eating random stuff, soon it will only eat one thing and this is generally when you will see a slime mutate. Low Magic Zones -> Slimes in low magic zones will start to use their magisense as a way to hunt for thing with magical energy, as they’re not absorbing enough magic in the air. They tend to go with plants or object with magic but will start to aggressively hunt animals if needed. Magic Dead Zones -> Slimes in magic dead zone are highly aggressive and dangerous attacking anything near by. Due to loosing access to magisense their sense of touch is heighten and able to detect vibrations with tremorsense which they use to hunt. They also eat any living thing for the same reason.

A little snippet from my idea doc
"blood slimes ara a rare slime found in dead magic zones, it lays on the ground as it waits for a creature to walk over it, when one does it quickly engulf them and attempt to enter the body, if it succeeds it will drink all its blood leaving the bloodless husk behind."
