books vs kpop
Books vs. KPOP why? because these are my group of friends that I met in a strange way. I meant, during an event, through social media and such.
Yesterday, I went to the mall with my aunt (who celebrated her birthday instead) to join the book signing event of one of my favorite authors, apparently, we were late and was told that they just cut-off the participants. Knowing that we didn't make, we acted like stalkers and was walking around the event place until we finally got tired. We headed to mall family lounge and rest for a bit. Not the very talkative me, I find myself itching to talk to the girl who just sat in the couch with us, why? because I saw her with the book that I was about to have signed. Hers, apparently has a number, meaning, she made it. So it all started with me asking if she made it, and she confirmed. She was just there to recharge her phone while waiting for her number to be called which is 977. While hanging out, we started talking about books and the characters and the movie tie-ins. Suddenly, we were like friends comparing and sharing stuff. We would even say, "Oh, you should read it", "It's really good. You should try to read it.." and it's all because of books. When she left, my aunt just randomly told me, "You know it's really different  when you chat with people who you have something in common yea?" and I just nodded. My book-world experience is definitely different from my KPOP-world experience.
My KPOP friends, I meant, those people I've met through korean music fandom (KPOP). I started to become a fan back in 2011 and from there, I already had chosen and kept some people as my friends, now that I'm not that much of KPOP active fan and looking back, fan girls and boys nowadays are so different from our generation earlier, no offense, but this how I see it now. If I weren't an earlier fan, and not know some, I'd probably be an active fan girl who competes with the other fans with how I wear, how I act, how I speak and such. Again, no offense. Back when I was an active kpop fan, I have friends from different fandoms, we still get to hangout until now. Even those I'm not close with, whenever we see each other on conventions, we would still greet or even give each other a hug. I never experienced competing with them even if we have the different fandoms. What I remember we do, we try to connect our kpop fandom into each other, like my favorite kpop artist of this group is friends with this certain kpop artist who's in different group, my favorite artist is this and he's on the same entertainment as this. You know, i only we ever competed was who's the hottest, who has the lickable abs and who was dorkiest member.
I don't know now, maybe as we get older, we realized more things, maybe as we expand our connections to people, you see differences that wasn't there before. I am not cutting off any of my groups, and this post that I made isn't intended to make anyone of my friends think superior than the other, this post is just what I felt after my aunt randomly told what she did yesterday. And that's just it. If you are going to react violent, I would respect that because it's you giving your opinion, but do think back that this is me giving out my opinion as well.
To my first ever blog post.
