Day 9. Happiness. Felicidad.

Completing the exam of SPA 1 not quite well but the feeling after was so free and I just wanted to scream. My memory about this is just quite good. That was in the parking lot. Passing the motorcycles, bringing the maquette. I was dealing with a great lecturer but I could still get through it. That was the last day I did the exam in that university.

Completar el examen de SPA 1 no muy bien, pero la sensación después fue tan libre y sólo quería gritar. Mi memoria sobre esto es bastante buena. Eso estaba en el estacionamiento. Pasando las motocicletas, trayendo la maqueta. Estaba tratando con un gran profesor, pero todavía podía superarlo. Ese fue el último día que hice el examen en esa universidad.

A day or days after, that feeling changed. I moved to another town. I didn’t expect happiness to end sooner as I moved. I felt empty. I have been thinking I picked the wrong choice.  

Un día o días después, esa sensación cambió. Me mudé a otro pueblo. No esperaba que la felicidad terminara antes cuando me mudara. Me sentía vacía. He estado pensando que elegí la elección equivocada.

From my story above, I learn that as long as we live, happiness won’t last forever. Happiness and empty feeling just come and go.  Accept it. Be blessed.

De mi historia de arriba, aprendo que mientras vivamos, la felicidad no durará para siempre. La felicidad y el sentimiento vacío van y vienen. Acédárlo. Sé bendecido.

Day 8. The Power of Music. El Poder de La Musica.

I don’t believe that there are people who don’t like music. Because, even silence is the softest kind of music, I believe. Music is a food for soul. It can fill the deepest part of your heart. What we can’t touch by hand, can be touched by music. It can play in our mind.

Creo que a toda la gente le encanta la música. Porque, incluso el silencio es el tipo de música mas suave, creo. La música es un alimento para el alma. Puede llenar la parte mas profunda de su corazón. Lo que no podemos tocar a mano, puede ser tocado por la música. Puede jugar en nuestra mente.

Music can move people. It helps us to release stress. It helps us to fall asleep. When our heart’s hurt, music heals. For some people, music helps them to study. For some people, music accompanies when they’re cooking.

La música puede mover a la gente. Nos ayuda a liberar el estrés. Nos ayuda a conciliar el sueño. Cuando nuestro corazón está herido, la música sana. Para algunos, la música les ayuda a aprender. Para algunos, la música acompaña cuando cocinan.

Music is unlimited. The world without music is pathetic.

La musica es ilimitada. El mundo sin música es patético.

Day 7. Favorite Movie. La Pelicula Favorita.

Movies bring us into a fantasy. Movies tell us a story. Movies make us think. Movies create happiness and sadness. Through movie, we can reach what we can’t in real life. But, among many movies, there is one at least, is a favorite movie. But, unfortunately, I couldn’t tell what’s my favorite because there are many of them.

Las películas nos llevan a una fantasía. Las películas nos cuentan una historia. Las películas nos hacen pensar. Las películas crean felicidad y tristeza. A través del cine, podemos llegar a lo que no podemos en la vida real. Pero, entre muchas películas, hay una al menos, es una película favorita. Pero, entristecido, no podía decir cuál es mi favorito porque hay muchos de ellos.

I like action movies, historical movies, fantasy movies, romantic-comedy movies. Horror movies is okay if there’s friend around. Hihi. I’d say Spartacus is one of my favorite movies. The stories, the costumes, the actions are really superb. Gaius Claudius Glaber and Ilithyia are my favorite characters.

Me gustan las películas de acción, películas históricas, películas de fantasía, películas de comedia romántica. Las películas de terror están bien si hay un amigo alrededor. Jaja. Yo diría que Espartaco es una de mis películas favoritas. Las historias, los disfraces, las acciones son realmente excelentes. Gaius Claudius Glaber e Ilithyia son mis personajes favoritos.

Currently, I am watching Animal Kingdom series on Netflix. It’s action-drama movie I love to watch. What movies do you like?

 Actualmente, estoy viendo las series de Animal Kingdom en Netflix. Es una película de acción dramática que me encanta ver. ¿Qué películas te gustan?

Day 6. Single and Happy. Soltero y Feliz.

I honestly don’t know what to say about this. Being single doesn’t mean unhappy. Relationship with other people can vary. We all have at least one relation to other people, even if they’re strangers. Somehow, we can choose what kind of relation we want with this person or that person. We meet friends at school. We find new friends at seminars, at concerts, at church.

Sinceramente, no sé qué decir al respecto. Ser soltero no significa infeliz. La relación con los demás puede variar. Todos tenemos al menos una relación con otras personas, incluso si son extraños. De alguna manera, podemos elegir qué tipo de relación queremos con esta persona o esa persona. Conocimos amigos en la escuela. Encontramos nuevos amigos en seminarios, en conciertos, en la iglesia.

But yeah, I know we are talking about a relation to a mate; girlfriend, boyfriend, wife, husband, and so on. For me, it hasn’t been a problem to not have a girlfriend for these couple of years. I mean, I have many choices about what I am going to do if this is about finding happiness. I admit that in my age, in this country, it’s an urgent matter to find a life partner. You haven’t married, you’ll be gossiped.

Pero sí, sé que estamos hablando de una relación con un compañero; novia, novio, esposa, marido, etc. Para mí, no ha sido un problema no tener novia por estos últimos años. Quiero decir, tengo muchas opciones sobre lo que voy a hacer si se trata de encontrar la felicidad. Admito que en mi edad, en este país, es urgente encontrar un compañero de vida. Si no te has casado, estarás chismeado.

For me, for now, it’s still okay to be single. I search and I create happiness in a way other than having a girlfriend. Music, painting, digital art work.

Para mí, por ahora, todavía está bien estar soltero. Busco y creo felicidad de una manera que no sea tener una novia. La música, la pintura, obra de arte digital.

But, am I happy now?

Pero, ¿estoy feliz ahora?

Day 5. My Parents. Mis Padres.

My parents first met at their office. They worked as nurses in the same health center. My mother is 8 years older than my father. They married when they were 26 and 34. I don’t know much about them when they were young.

Mis padres se conocieron en su oficina. Trabajaban como enfermeras en el mismo centro de salud. Mi madre es mayor de 8 años que mi padre. Se casaron cuando tenían 26 y 34 años. No sé mucho de ellos cuando son jóvenes.

They have three children. Firstborn is my brother, I am number two, the last is my sister. There were five people at home. They have been good parents to raise their children. Outside the office, they worked as coffee farmers.

Tienen tres hijos. El primogénito es mi hermano, yo soy el número dos, el último es mi hermana. Había cinco personas en casa. Han sido buenos padres para criar a sus hijos. Fuera de la oficina, trabajaban como agricultores de café.

I admit that I have no strong bond with both of them. We had a fight. We are not that close, I guess. But still, I also admit, sometimes I miss them. May God bless them.

Admito que no tengo un fuerte vínculo con ambos. Tuvimos pelea. No estamos tan cerca, supongo. Pero, aún así, también admito, a veces los extraño. Que Dios los bendiga.

Day 4. Places I Want to Visit. Lugares Que Quiero Visitar.

I can’t call myself a traveler. I haven’t visited many beautiful places, even in my country. I haven’t explored enough, yet.  Not only because of I am not easily moved, but also money matter, of course. Unlike my friends, my desire and my effort to travel is low. But still, I want to visit many beautiful places.

No puedo llamarme un viajero. No he visitado muchos lugares bonitos, incluso en mi país. No he explorado lo suficiente. Se trata de dinero. Jajaja. A diferencia de mis amigos, mi deseo y mi esfuerzo por viajar es bajo. Pero, aún así, quiero visitar muchos lugares bonitos.

But, yeah, here they are.

Pero, sí, aquí están.

Spain and Italy, maybe Paris or Scotland.

Bali and Belitung, maybe Papua or Sulawesi.

Japan and Thailand, maybe Philippine or Vietnam.  

España e Italia, tal vez París o Escocia.

Bali y Belitung, tal vez Papúa o Célebes.

Japón y Tailandia, tal vez Filipinas o Vietnam.

Many beautiful landmarks, beaches, and historical sites. I want to take pictures of me with those backgrounds. Exploring these places will be refreshing the soul.

Muchos lugares de interés hermosos, playas, y sitios históricos. Quiero tomarme fotos con esos fondos. Explorar estos lugares será refrescar el alma.

I just need the money.

Solo necesito el dinero.

Day 3. A memory. Un recuerdo.

I lived in a small village with my parents, brother and sister. In that time, life was easy. I could play on a field all day. I never imagined that life wouldn’t be as easy as yesterday.

Vivía en un pueblo pequeño con mis padres, un hermano y una hermana.   En ese tiempo, la vida era fácil. Podía jugar en un campo todo el día. Nunca imaginé que la vida no sería tan fácil como ayer.

I loved animals. I caught dragonflies. I fished. I swam in natural pool. I caught flies and gave them names. My fish also got a name. I cried when my father slaughtered our chickens. Oh my God, I remember all of those. Hahaha. What a beautiful memory.

Me encantaban los animales. Atrapaba a las libélulas. Yo pescaba. Nadaba en la piscina natural. Atrapaba moscas y les daba nombres. Mi pez también tenía un nombre. Lloré cuando mi padre masacró a nuestros pollos. Dios mío, recuerdo todo eso. Jajaja. Qué hermoso recuerdo.

Now, I live in a big city, far away from home. Life is never gonna be the same again.  

Ahora, vivo en una ciudad grande, lejos de casa. La vida nunca volverá a ser la misma.

Day 2. Things That Make Me Happy. Cosas Que Me Hacen Feliz

Money makes me happy.

El dinero me hace feliz.

Hahaha. Just intermezzo.  Many things can make us happy. Some people say money makes us happy, some others say that happiness is a decision. We can choose to be happy at any phase in life or in any situation we’ve been going through.

Jajaja. Solo intermezzo. Muchas cosas pueden hacernos feliz. Algunas personas dicen que el dinero nos hace feliz, otras dicen que la felicidad es una decisión. Podemos elegir ser feliz en cualquiera etapa en la vida.

Getting a job that I wanted.  Finding a girlfriend in a young age. Having a family that supports all things I like to do. Being respected as what I am. Listening to songs all day long. Having my first house. Getting my arts done.

Conseguir un trabajo que yo quisiera. Encontrar una novia en una edad temprana. Tener una familia que apoye todas las cosas que me gusta hacer. Ser respetado como lo que soy. Escuchar a las canciones todo el día. Tener mi primera casa. Terminar mi arte.

Those things (can) make me happy. Well, I don’t fully reach all of those, yet. I have to struggle to get some of those. There are some I believe I couldn’t get. There are some I wish I could reach soon.

Esas cosas (pueden) hacerme feliz. Bueno, no he logrado todo eso. Tengo que luchar para conseguir algunos de esos. Hay algunos que creo que no pude conseguir. Hay algo que quiero obtener de inmediato.

Marriage? It depends. Hmm. Now? No.

La boda? Depende. Hmm. Ahora? No.

Day 1. My personality. Mi personalidad.

Well, if I place myself as people who look at me, I would say that I am kind of boring, not interesting, untrusted. May be, that’s what I am. All my life, I presume I don’t have confidence. Those negative traits are dominant, I guess. So, they kind of making me looks like shit.

Bueno, si me pongo como personas que me miran, diría que soy un poco aburrido, no interesante, poco confiable. Puede ser, eso es lo que soy. Toda mi vida, supongo que no tengo confianza. Esos rasgos negativos son dominantes, supongo. Así que me hacen ver como una mierda.

When I meet people, I don’t talk too much. I better keep my mouth shut than chit chat. I don’t trust people. I admit it that I am too afraid of what people would react. It complicates things, I’m sure, but it helps a lot at some circumstances.

Cuando conozco a gente, no digo mucho. Mejor callar que charlar. No confío en la gente. Admito que tengo demasiado miedo a las reacciones de la gente. Complica las cosas, estoy seguro, pero ayuda mucho en algunas circunstancias.

Just like seasons, people change. Al igual las estaciones, la gente cambia.
