YOI Fifth Anniversary Fanworks Exchange: Mini-Event Info

Hello everyone! This is some information about the mini-events that will occur during the fanworks exchange. I wanted to find a way to include more people in the celebration than just the participants who signed up. Viktor’s and Yuuri’s birthdays fall at a good time during the event, so I decided to create a couple of mini-events that anyone can participate in, whether you signed up for the fanwork exchange or not.

About Yuuri’s birthday mini-event: November 26 So many people found YOI to be a breath of fresh air when it came out. Not only did it focus on a healthy MLM relationship, but it also focused on personal growth and mental health issues and even career stagnation. This mini-event focuses on why YOI is so important to you. There are several ways to participate: you can make a post talking about how YOI was/is important to you; you can create a fanwork about parts of the show or topics that were/are important to you (for example, headcanons, mini-fic or poetry, art, graphics, cosplays, etc.). 

About Viktor’s birthday mini-event: December 22-25 This will be a comment party, taking place between posting day (December 22) and Viktor’s birthday (December 25). Everyone who participated worked hard on their exchange gifts, so I wanted to make a point to encourage people to comment, kudos, reblog, retweet, etc. Let’s take a few days to appreciate all the content made for the YOI fandom, by the YOI fandom.

As i mentioned above, anyone can participate, whether you signed up for the exchange or not. If you decide to participate, please @ yoi5thanniversaryevent in the body of your post, tag it #yoi5thanniversaryminievent on tumblr, twitter, and ao3, or submit your work to the blog to be posted. You can also post to the ao3 collection if you wish. Works for Yuuri’s mini-event may be posted early but will be reblogged on the day of the mini-event.

Welcome to YOI5THANNIVERSARYEVENT’s Fanworks Exchange Celebration!

Hello everyone! I’m here to announce a new secret santa-style fanworks exchange event to celebrate the fifth anniversary of our beloved anime, Yuri On Ice!

What is a fanworks exchange? It’s an exchange of fanworks (writing, art, graphics) based on prompts. Participants will sign up and fill out their interests and up to three prompts they would like to receive, as well as some information on what they are offering to create. Participants will then be matched to the best of my ability and begin working on their fanwork in secret.

What are the minimum requirements for the exchange? Writers || 2,000 words Artists || 1 finished piece Graphics || a set of 6 images If you want to offer something else, please talk to the mod first!

YOI 5th Anniversary Fanworks Exchange Interest Check!

Hello and welcome to the YOI 5th Anniversary Fanworks Exchange interest check!!

YOI5AE is an event created to celebrate the 5th anniversary of the airing of Yuri!! On Ice, a show that was beloved by so many anime fans because of the conversations it started about MLM relationships, mental health, career stagnation, older main characters, etc.

The event is set to open with sign-ups on the date of the first episode, October 6, and end with posting on the date of the airing of the final episode, December 22. You can find the full schedule here.

The requirements for the event are pretty relaxed as this is meant to be a fun event. Writers should aim for a fic of 2,000 words, artists should have one complete work, and graphics-makers should have a set of 6 images. The main event – the exchange portion – is only available to those who sign up. However, there will be two mini-events on Yuuri’s and Viktor’s birthdays that will be open for anyone to participate. Check the FAQ for more information!

The event schedule is hammered out to match the airing of the show, but I would like to use this interest check to see if people are interested and what they think of the minimum requirements and the mini-events! If there is enough interest, the event will move forward.
