Common misconception for TS2: "every neighborhood needs 4-character folder names"

as it turns out, you can name a neighborhood's folder basically whatever you want, however long you want, and they will still show up in-game. i'm not sure if there's a limit to characters (like how the game doesn't read files in your downloads if the path is over 255 characters long) in this example, i cloned desiderata valley and riverblossom hills and renamed their folders (and their files within). and i edited the thumbnails so i could tell more easily lol desiderata is MaryHadALittleLamb.p.p.p and riverblossom is just Riverblossom Hills (because i wanted to see if it handles spaces. it does!)

kinda hard to show that they appeared in the neighborhood list when they have reia files but whatever. it gets the point across

they work in simpe as well!

you could make ur neighborhoods folder look cute this way lol (there's a risk of scripted events and neighborhood albums breaking with pre-existing hoods, but it's whatever. not a new thing)

DDLC Eyes For TS2 (Defaults + Customs)

this is another one of those "made cc as some type of joke but then unironically enjoy the way it turned out" type uploads sayori's eyes were used as a base and i pretty much edited it from there and recolored it (also had to tweak it a bunch of times). i originally considered making custom red/yellow eyes for MC, but making the 4 custom eye colors for the club members was already taking a while for me lol i didn't make any supernatural eye defaults other than aliens (i think most of them are tied to the skins?). anyone can make some for these, if they want! i probably won't be using these in my game at all, but it was quite fun working on them. this was the first time i've ever made custom eyes from scratch (i didn't geneticize/townify them, mostly because i don't know how to, but also because i'm not sure how you'd do natsuki and yuri's eyes genetics-wise lol) as always, you may edit my cc however you see fit. as long as i'm credited, of course ! --------------------------------------------- Download Link: SFS credit: Dan Salvato Satchely MoonfaireSims (i used their Maxis But Better eyes as a base for my defaults)

Rebecah's Sims 2 Functional Pizza Oven Reuploaded

this is one of my favorite obscure cc items for TS2 that i've had in my game, and i have decided to preserve it and reupload it for download! this pizza oven was originally made by rebecah benjamin (rest in peace 🖤) and was uploaded on affinitysims. affinitysims is no longer available, which includes most of her cc that was uploaded there back in the day original video by rebecah, showcasing this pizza oven in action

here are all of the recolors. they're merged with the main object (i did not merge the recolors myself, it simply came like this) your sims can gain cooking skill from this object and it has its own notification text, which is a pretty neat addition

it's possible that other people may have reuploaded this (and her other cc) already, but i personally don't know. regardless, i wanted to upload this myself, just in case someone hasn't ---------------------------------------------

A Wants Tree Collection

Hi! So for the long time I've been using veronavillequiltingbee's Personal Wants Tree mod and I've pondered "could I ever make a Wants Tree of my own - without breaking them?" I've never actually tried too much because I wasn't too much tech savvy to mess with that kind of files, but then I saw Riftwalker's Wants Trees and saw a commenter want to combine that mod with Fewer Hobby Wants, so I said "why not?" and got to work reading tutorials and the like. Gladly, I ended up with a Wants Tree that I loved and also learnt a thing or two in the process!

This Want Tree file includes the following:

Riftwalker's Wants Tree

Go Steady Want for Adults and Elders*

Fixed Break Up Want for Teens, Adults and Elders; both for Steady and Marriage

New Family Member Want for Teens and Children of All Aspirations

University related Wants enabled for All Aspirations

Engagement Want and Left at Altar Fear enabled for All Aspirations

*You need another mod to enable those interactions. Mine only enables the want.

Note: I disabled Teen Woohoo wants for the most part. I still have the file without that feature as a backup so I can upload it if requested. Uploaded.

Careers now roll based on Interests rather than Aspirations (Adults Only)

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

1. Backup your original WantTrees.package. This package is located at:

For the old-school version: EA GAMES\The Sims 2 Mansion and Garden Stuff\TSData\Res\Wants

For the new-school UC version: Origin Games\The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection\Fun with Pets\SP9\TSData\Res\Wants

2. Rename matti_WantTrees.package to just WantTrees.package.

3. Replace WantTrees.package in the game installation folder with the one you downloaded (not your Downloads folder).

KNOWN ISSUES

Engagement and Steady wants may roll at the same time.

Sims may roll Steady wants towards their spouses.

Teens may still get the 20 Woohoo LTW despite the wants being disabled. A workaround is to just reroll the LTW with a mod such as Sim Blender.

i wish there were wrinkle body overlays. there's a lot of them for the sim's face but none really for the body/skin textures (as far as i'm aware)

it just looks kinda weird when my sims are all wrinkly and aging (before they're elders) but their bodies look super young and 'clean' lol

i really wanted to try ts2 on linux but i could never get the game to run smoothly no matter what i did (it’s extremely laggy everywhere ingame) and i ended up changing something that makes the game close as soon as i load into a hood. idk if i messed up the installation or if im using the wrong version of proton or whatever. i might try coming back to it later but idk what’s wrong with it right now lol

why are people saying that they're finally able to play ts1 and ts2 again soon? the installers exist, you'll be spending money on stuff that you can have for free with community fixes.
