Here’s another example of a character I’ve wanted to draw for quite some time, and was willing to make an exception despite my strict commission only rule. This is Verte Sinople made by Vertekins. A green tenrec who’s really in-tuned with nature. Literally to the point where she can use it to heal others with her distaff. In my opinion, this is an example of a fan character with a good amount of thought put into it. She her own character and has nothing from the main cast of Sonic shoe-horned into her backstory and she’s not a Mary Sue in anyway. Also, I really like it that it’s a healer, not a fighter. While I’m not against characters who are great fighters, I use to have a Yoshi OC that was one, but fan characters don’t have to be fighters to be interesting. They just have to be well thought out. Despite being a big fan of the Sonic series, it’s very rare when I work on Sonic characters, Sonic fan characters or characters with Sonic-like proportions. So I had to do some research to get the proportions as close as I could to read as a Sonic OC. And I wanted to take Verte’s original design and give it more of a spin that’s more in-tune with her love of nature. I was glad to finally work of this character and I’m glad to see it work out.

Man, I love Platinum Games! The Wonderful 101 is an action-packed, genre switching gem that was massively overlooked. The remaster crushed it’s Kickstarter, so I wanted to make a fan art piece of the main squad.

ONE WEEK LEFT!! Following up on the previous Tumblr entry because pre-order numbers are a bit low. And I want many people to see the talent of forty-seven artists, myself included, who came together to work on an amazing fighting game fashion zine called, Fighting Style!

Fighting Style is a fan zine about taking favorite fighting game characters, having them wear fashion of all kinds and just hanging out with each other as they showcase their fit. The artist designs the artwork. The writer writes the descriptions and articles. Not only is it filled with content from artists of all sorts of art styles and mediums, but a chunky amount of franchises are represented from the popular to the obscure. Including Street Fighter, DarkStalkers, Injustice, Guilty Gear, Granblue, Blazblue and so much more. Shoot, I even made an entry for Power Stone.

The pre-orders started on Jan. 15 and will end Feb. 15. So there's only a week left to go. If you're interested after reading the rules and checking prices, feel free to buy whatever tier you want and support this zine. This time he wanted me to sketch his character powering up in a berserker-like state known as Pale-Blood. Using a panel from Naruto as a reference, I wanted to show her just going feral and embracing the hell she's about to unleash!

Trying something new. Honestly, something I should have done a long time ago. For now on, I'm posting art on my website and Ko-Fi page AT LEAST two days ahead of other social media. I'll post an update like this for anyone interested.

So if you want to see my work early, just click the links and you can check it out. If you're willing to wait at least two days, that's fine too. It's free either way. However you want to view my work is up to you, as long as you're not an asshole.

Most of the artwork in this update is already on here, but that's a one-time slip-up. Honestly, I'm only doing this to bring more attention to my website and Ko-Fi. I mean, it's simple business. I've worked hard on my website. Also, WIX is getting ready to raise the price.

One of my entries for a, maybe canceled(?), Rival Schools zine! Loved all the sports-themed students of Gorin High/University. All of them have enough main character energy to star in their own spin-off sports title. Capcom could have made it happen if they wanted to.
