Saw a video from like eight years ago of me (badly) playing an instrument I was learning at the time and it made me so sad about all videos like that I deleted over the years because I got embarrassed. Shouting through time and space to my teenage self like “hey you, I love you. You got me here. I want to watch you play an instrument badly.”

i love when tragedies are like “the love was there. it didnt change anything. it didnt save anyone. there were just too many forces against it. but it still matters that the love was there”

Trying to explain that I want a career I care about where I make enough money to have hobbies I care about so I can do things that I care about with enough free time to be around people I care about but I haven’t cared about anything in very long time and I don’t know if that dream is realistic anymore

Horribly dreadfully missing my childhood room. I wish I could sleep in that bed tonight. I wish I could watch that ceiling and hear that street. I wish it was mine still

Look. I’m a little drunk but I’m so glad that I live in this day and age. I’m so glad that that I get to see artwork on Instagram with two likes made by someone on the other side of the world and I get to give it a little heart. I’m so glad I get to hear songs and music that someone recorded in their bedroom and shared with the world just for the joy of sharing it. I’m so glad I get to see jokes that people made and read the things they say and hear opinions and ideas that I’ve never considered. I’m so glad I get to see people’s pets that I’ll never meet and that I get to see creatures that I wouldn’t have even known existed if I lived in a different time. I’m sorry for the burden of it all. But god. The beauty.
#it’s all so wonderful and strange#I hope I never stop being in awe of it#even when it’s overwhelming#even when it’s scary#I think the Information Age is a pretty incredible thing#mine#writblr#personal#that video of the colossal squid got me. it’s all so hard but I get to witness that? worth it#writing#poetry#poetry adjacent
