hi!! really appreciate the google drive you made, I live in the uk and have no idea why they stopped putting the video podcast on youtube smh i know it’s probably channel 4 but I don’t get why they can post compilations of full tasks but not the podcast that literally just talks about the show! anyway would you mind adding the new episode from last week with jason if you get a chance? thanks so much!
Yeah I have no idea either (sort of like why i don't get why they put the nz and australian taskmaster on youtube but don't make it available in the uk despite according to stuff I've seen on reddit - not planning on putting any more up on channel 4.)
As for the jason ep, they didn't put a video up for that one, i think because he was back in America when they were recorded so it was done over zoom.
I will do any going forward though as long as we get them.

Okay it's done now
Very tempted, when this series of taskmaster au finishes, to make a compilation of just whatever the fuck is going on between Tommy and Lesser Tom.

Okay I did it
youtube
taskmaster australia but just whatever the fuck is going on with Tommy and Lesser Tom
Sorry the editing isn't the best, i'd forgotten how tricky it is to edit around the actual editing of this show especially when they put peoples attempts together and stuff like that, but I hope it's okay.
Anyway tagging @etherdoesstuff because you asked and @georgeknightley becaue I'm guessing you'll want to know too
edited to add a bit. thanks to @deluxe-distrait for letting me know about that. Also put it on youtube because seemingly it's quicker to to that and link here than waiting for it to load on here.

Yes it is 100%, currently in the finding a decent enough quality download stage, but it should be done in the next few days.

Something quite funny (and also very sweet) about both of todays taskmaster episodes having live tasks where one contestant ended up helping another contestant win (or come second and get enough points to win the ep )

Tim Key has a new movie out called The Ballad of Wallis Island, and it’s really, really good. I’d been looking forward to its release because I like the short film on which it’s based, which is free on YouTube and also really good so everyone should watch that:
youtube
It's something Tim Key made with Tom Basden in 2007, where Tim Key plays a weird guy on an island and Tom Basden plays a less weird guy who visits him. And Tom Basden's a folk singer. Classic dynamic.
I was pleased when I heard they were turning it into a full-length movie more than 15 years after it was first made, though I must admit I wondered how they would turn it into a deep enough plot to fill nearly two hours. Because the original short film didn't really have enough plot to fill even those twenty minutes. The short film doesn't have much of a plot; it's mainly just made of characters and setting and soundtrack and vibes. And it's great. I really enjoy those characters and setting and soundtrack and vibes. But I figured it would be tough to keep those interesting for two hours.
They did write a plot for the full-length movie. They created a plot by giving both main characters love interests, which is usually my least favourite way to create a plot, but in this case it's really, really good. All three main actors (Tim, Tom, and Carey Mulligan, who plays one of those love interests, but also her own complex and accomplished character, which is a nice thing to make a love interest) sell it so well, that I find myself fully invested in heterosexual fictional romance.
This movie made me really wish Tom Basden would put out an actual folk music album. I like him fine as a comedian (to be honest I don't know a lot of his comedy outside his various projects with Tim Key, though I've heard little bits of his own stand-up), but this movie made me realize I have wildly underestimated him as an actual musician. Though I suppose he now sort of has released an actual folk music album, in the form of the movie's soundtrack, which I've immediately downloaded:
The full-length movie retains the compelling characters and soundtrack and setting and vibes of the short film, just with a plot added on top of it. Oh, and with more money, so it gets to make all those things bigger. Especially the setting - the scenery in this movie is gorgeous. I immediately recommended this movie to my dad, because he likes movies that he can describe as "[place where it's set] is so at the forefront, that it's like another character in the movie!" The Welsh countryside is basically the fourth main character in this movie.
It's also funny to re-watch the short film right after seeing the full-length movie, and watch Key & Basden decrease in age by 15 years. I think the movie works better with them being older; those characters are meant to be people who've lived a life. Baby-faced Key from 2007 is adorable, but doesn't pull off "guy who's lived a long and complicated life" quite as well.
This movie is the peak of the more emotional and artsy side of Tim Key's career, and I hope it wins all the awards. It's the type of movie that wins awards, I'm pretty sure.

Somehow we're already 4 episodes into s19 of taskmaster, and it continues to be a really strong series both task and contestant-wise.
Stevie and Jason probably remain my favourites, especially in the team tasks, but Mat is very close up there as well, there's just something about the desperate, slightly pathetic way he does things, contrasted with the actual competance that is hard not to be endeared to. It's also fun to have two contestants on a series who move in really weird ways sometimes (Jason saying Mat looked like a fawn when he was running away from Fatiha was really funny, and accurate)
Enjoyed the prize task a lot, again with series, less for the prizes themselves and more for the introductions and discussion around them, Mat yelling 'mummy', Jason introducing the getting the audience to shout the word bit, and the whole bit after his leading to Rosie says she's 'just happy she [her mum] is getting laid.', 'the adorable way Stevie just says 'it's got cock in it etc.
The wet suit task was such a fun contrast of absolute chaos from Mat and Jason (with that chaos actuall working out for Jason a bit), the chillness mixed with mild irritation from Fatiha, and then Rosie and Stevie just being actually pretty good at it. Also shout out to Rosie for being the only one to think to use Alex's suit.
The team task was basically pure chaos, I loved that they did a filmed task with a studio element to it, and Stevie and Jason just ignoring Alex and Greg, and just whispering together on the floor like school kids was probably my higlight of the episode, with Mat running away after accidentaly implying Fatiha's acting wasn't great being a close second.
I would have found the lightbulb task so stressful to do i think, as it seemed did most of the contestants. Mat and Stevie both having a meltdown, and Jason taking 52 minutes. (Still, not the longest task attempt from a tm episode that aired that day thanks to tm au's caravan task, which had 3 attempts in the 50's and one at 1 hour 16 i think)
Loved Front Ham. A genuinely tense live task, and love to see Fatiha thriving on a task like this where it's less physical and more about tactics.

Taskmaster's kind of an insane show 'cause they can literally bring human remains as a prize task, I'm pretty sure.
