One of the most obvious ways to tell someone is cishet is to to try to explain queer coded characters in media that aren't super explicitly queer. Most cishet people don't understand that a character is queer unless the character says it themself because they can't relate to it or understand it the way a queer person who has gone through similar things can. And since most media is centered around cishet people they automatically assume that a show, movie, ect. is made for them unless it's super explicit. That's why a lot of queer media isn't great represtation, unless it's super in your face that a character is queer people will find a way to explain it with them still being straight and cis.
