haikyuu is so great because hinata was relieved to see a former rival (oikawa) in a foreign country and before that iwaizumi was relieved to see a former rival (ushi) in a foreign country and i love to see these different bonds that formed over the years, some from rivalry, some from being teammates (or both) but either way everyone is over all enocuraging to each other and everyone is a safe place for each other regardless of whether or not they’re exactly friends and i think that’s neat
