Spirit Con 2019

This year’s Spirit Con will be held during the weekend of May 17th through May 19th at the First Unitarian Church of San Jose 160 North 3rd St, San Jose, CA 95112).

Conferences are a safe space for youth to gather and celebrate Unitarian Universalism, ourselves, and our community, in an awesome weekend filled with spirituality, social action, and friends!

Fill out the online registration form here to register for this event. The online registration does not replace the normal check-in forms (registration information, medical release, covenant) that you bring to the con. After filling out the online form, you will receive an email with the print-out forms shortly.

The registration fee is $50 and any checks should be made out to NCUUCC. Register before April 12th to receive an early bird discount of $5 off your registration fee. If this if your first Conference, you will get $10 off your registration.

If you do not register before the 8th of May, you are not guaranteed a spot so be sure to register ASAP so you can be included! If you need financial assistance to attend this event, fill out our Scholarship Request Form here.

Leadership Training

YRUUP and NCUUCC are coming together to create a leadership training! We are excited to share our knowledge and experience with one another. At this training, we will be talking about the different leadership positions for both organizations. By the end of the weekend, we will put together comprehensive literature resources/archives to ensure that our camps and conferences continue to support our communities. The three main areas we will be examining are Kitchen, Administrative Leadership, and Activity Programming.

Elections Conference 2019

This year’s Election Con will be held at the Unitarian Universalist Church of San Mateo (300 E Santa Inez Ave San Mateo, CA 94401) from Friday February 15th at 7pm through Monday February 18th at 1pm. This con is a whole day longer than other YRUUP weekend conferences, so please pack and plan accordingly.

Registration is now open! You can fill out the registration form here. If you register before January 22 you will automatically receive $5 off your registration fee. If this if your first Con, you will get $10 off your registration.

If you need a scholarship, please fill out the scholarship request form here. This form is an application and does not replace your regular registration form. Scholarships are given on a need-basis only to those who ask first. If you would like more information about travel scholarships or reimbursement for supplies, contact your treasurers at treasurer@yruup.org.

Unfortunately, YRUUP's annual Chaplain Training (scheduled for the weekend of January 18th) has been postponed due to low registration. Chaplain Training is an incredibly important part of our community and culture, and we are only cancelling this event out of necessity. Please be assured that we will reschedule, and Chaplain Training is likely to take place during either late March or early April of this year. We will announce the date as soon as possible to assure that everyone will have enough time to fit it in to their schedules.

To those who were registered, we apologize. We know that many of you travel far and work hard to make it to our events. We hope to see you at our upcoming Elections Con (February 15-18 at Unitarian Universalists of San Mateo), and at Chaplain Training this Spring.

Summer Con Site Change

Due to construction and complications with the San Mateo site, we have changed the location of YRUUP’s Summer Conference 2018. Please note that the conference will be held at the Napa Valley Unitarian Universalist (NVUU) church at 1625 Salvador Ave, Napa, CA 94558.

Hello Con-Goers! It’s your last chance to Register for WUUKY 2018!  (July 2-7)

What is WUUKY?

WUUKY stands for Western Unitarian Universalist Karmic Youth, and it refers to a wonderful, fulfilling and fun week-long con-like experience for youth ages 14-20 in the Mendocino Woodlands!

WUUKY 2018 will be held from Monday July 2nd through Sunday July 8th. The time for youth to register is now until June 5th . If a youth wishes to register after that date, we cannot guarantee a spot for them at WUUKY. If youths register by May 17th, $30 will be taken off the registration fee. Registration Deadline is June 16th. If you do not register by June 23rd, you spot is not guarenteed. Because WUUKY is week long and secluded out in the woods, it is extremely important that youth read the safety agreements and especially the packing list.

Unfortunately, early bird registration closed on May 17th. After May 17th and until Registration closes on June 15th, the registration fee for WUUKY will be to $270. The Late Registration fee is $310. Make sure you register early for the discount!

Payment for WUUKY is done beforehand and through mail transactions. You must mail your fee to Kian Van Der Meer, 1432 Walnut Street Alameda, CA 94501

Checks should be made out to NCUUCC.

Scholarships are available. Youths are encouraged to ask if they need one. They can email the current registrar at registrar@yruup.org with their requests. If a youth wishes to register after (Reg Deadline), they can email the WUUKY deans (WuukyDeans@gmail.com) and get on the waiting list (prices go up for late registration!).

If any of you, your churches or your members are willing and able, donations to help our scholarship fund and aid more youth in attending are always greatly appreciated.

We are also always on the lookout for adult advisers to attend so that we can accommodate all of the youth who register. If any adults from your congregations are interested in advising or would like to learn more, please have them email (Adult Co Name) at AdultCo@yruup.org
