Skullyyyyyyy. Here for Halloween and Christmas, with a small break in November (missing Yuu's birthday but it's a blessing and a curse to Yuu to not have to deal with him a full three months)

Arlan and Mari potentially show up here/have already appeared

First overblot missed a week ago. Perhaps not too bad, yet. Just two nightmares at this junction ? Unless Yuu is not sleeping much, in general, not comfortable in his environment / agonizing over the lack of memories. Or out dancing at the lake if those two are there. Stupid, but at least more pleasant than dreaming of mentally exaggerated monstrous god-like beings. Would muuuch rather be out dancing with pretty ghosts

Oct 3rd he gets his next nightmare. Probably a disturbing dream when he falls asleep in History. Nothing targeting him too strongly, yet

Need to review the little scene setting events in this book and others

Ruggie tries to steal Grim's food so Yuu fights him/tackles him before he can get a full sprint / the Savanaclaw wall can be built around him, spur of the moment decides the least violent alternative to raining attacks down on Ruggie is dousing him with pepper.

Crowley uses this opportunity to assign them both to avoid punishment by investigating the string of attacks that have been happening.

Ruggie has a full schedule balancing investigating/still being able to carry out the attacks, while also keeping on top of schoolwork, managing things around the dorm, attending to Leona... A single mom who works two jobs..

Grim is upset to learn about Magishift because he can't participate. No overblot lecture unless there's some other reason for it, but Riddle's still going around throwing the Queen's Rules book at people or whatever so. Maany collared Heartslabyul students at cafeteria tables. More would be willing to run to Yuu but it would probably make Riddle scarier and they'd have to live in a haunted rundown shack. Not ideal

Housewarden meeting - Yuu and Riddle have to leave early because Riddle started shit and Yuu continued it to the detriment of the rest of the meeting participants' peace, Yuu misses the conversation surrounding the game / Malleus

Start investigating - Grim, Yuu, and Ruggie meet up to start investigating after school. Once they get outside Ace and Deuce come up and tell them about Trey. After they get to Heartslabyul, Cater starts to share the info but is interrupted by Riddle. He sends them on their way, but calls back Ace and Deuce. Riddle doesn't want to share any info with Yuu / offers them the chance to rejoin and take spots on the Magishift team. Grim gets bored after they go to the infirmary /sees nooo benefit for him, so Yuu is left with Ruggie

Pomefiore - Yuu has a difficult time / allergic reaction to the dorm filled with apples and runs back the other way. Runs into Jade and Floyd in a complete panic / pulls out the dagger in fight/flight mode after the weird terrifying feeling in Pomefiore

Jade knows Yuu at that point, Floyd may have met him a couple times. They saw his whole freakout at the entrance ceremony already if nothing else.

Yuu thinks Jade is one of the more pleasant people he's met, he's not afraid of him, he's cold / has a kind of menacing aura, but so do the ghosts he interacts with and they're kinder to him than many of the students he's met at that point. He appreciates his knowledge of flora and fauna and finds club activities relaxing. He has a birthday present planned for him in response to Jade giving him a thermos as part of joining the Mountain Lovers Club, considers him a friend/perhaps his first friend. 🤡

Though he is getting closer with Deuce and Grim to a degree as well, Ace is a bit more strained but moving towards positive

The others run into what looks like Yuu being bullied by eels, Floyd like 'we were almost gutted tho

No big chase. Yuu does not have a smartphone, Ruggie does but they do not have Cater's information given to him so. It fits the same pattern but Ruggie is just leading them around to potential targets he hasn't gotten to, yet

Riddle leaves for dorm enforcement

Savanaclaw - Cater figures since they are all in the same place, they may as well continue together. They go to Savanaclaw. Jack notices Ruggie and Ruggie silently communicates to him that he shouldn't say anything to Yuu or Cater about the incidents.

Yuu joins Jack in running - Already standoffish but Ruggie being there doesn't help. However based on Jack's reaction to bringing up that Ruggie and Yuu are investigating the attacks, Yuu gets some idea, along with the display of ability earlier that morning when he attempted to steal that Ruggie assumed Yuu hadn't caught

Ruggie is called to help Leona and a dorm member tries to get even for Yuu's peppering incident against Ruggie earlier in the day

Eventually Ruggie comes back and they continue after he settles things down - or Leona in an attempt to divert suspicion from Savanaclaw

Unsure if Yuu will have such an emotional reaction to the scares of the day or not. He wouldn't admit to something like that, but if he's so shaken up it takes a toll, it will potentially help the introductions to Kalim and Jamil. Kalim at least would recognize him from insulting Riddle and Yuu arguing earlier that morning, though. The Pomefiore scare

Scarabia - meet Jamil and Kalim, rather than the next day. For reasonable / for shallow reasons Yuu sympathizes with Jamil. It is also perhaps an overload of bright energy from Kalim after having been subjected to similar excited friendliness from Scully. Just bad timing for Kalim, who Yuu is immediately -- after hearing from Kalim describing their dynamic / praising Jamil for always cooking such incredible food/taking care of him/poison testing.

Kalim accidentally shares that what they're investigating sounds like Jamil's UM - similar to almost doing so in the game. Ruggie sees an opportunity to frame Jamil - who invites Yuu to learn how to make a recipe later on, probably expecting investigators would be targeted

Ruggie and Yuu discuss the potential trap that he's been invited to

Dogs barking at night etc etc. But Yuu already hears stuff like that at Ramshackle

Jamil is controlled / attacks Yuu shortly after he arrives.

No notable psychic manifestation at this point, too trusting of Jade to be particularly smart / people savvy. He's probably begun communicating with ghosts, though. Probably still somewhat gullible, even with being so wary/distrusting. Has not learned people well enough in this new world. Knows to be wary, not how to avoid subtler signs of ill-intent

Multiple people visit infirmary. Riddle, Ace, Deuce, Grim, Jack at a distance, Ruggie, Kalim (crying) , Cater gives Yuu an old phone and tells him to be more careful - Riddle and Cater feeling a liiittle guilt for leaving him with Ruggie. Ace and Deuce decide to stay in Ramshackle

Yuu has a strange nightmare after receiving the phone about a woman holding an apple/describing its nature before he wakes up to Ruggie's visit

Riddle and Deuce agree to meet with Yuu through the week to try and give him some sort of reform/etiquette/horseback lessons (teach discipline / responsibility) / martial arts

(different days of the week, Yuu refuses Riddle's offer as he sees it as an attempt at control but Crowley essentially assigns it to him / tells him to accept the kindness of his friends. Yuu hates it, but defers to from Crowley)

since Crowley won't just expel Yuu for some reason. Deuce identifies with Yuu a lot and martial arts help him, Riddle has a combination of guilt / a feeling that Yuu needs to be guided to make better decisions to avoid future catastrophes such as what transpired (mostly due to Yuu's own lack of preparedness, but also somewhat Riddle's...pettiness). Also, pettily wants to put Yuu in a situation where he has to listen to him / follow the Queen's Rules after hearing him openly mock/debate the various rules he'd already memorized

--First meeting starts off surprisingly well until Riddle tries asking him about his issues with apples and Yuu refuses to wear any required costume for feeding flamingos. Martial arts is more enjoyable. Gets 4 meetings with Riddle and 2 with Deuce before the next book--

Yuu manages to convince Ruggie to confess to the attack - don't remember the full sequence of events so will work on it -

-this is fairly important to all following events, so it will need to be done well -

but Ruggie refuses to implicate Leona and so makes it seem like it was all just him

Jamil uses that opportunity to blackmail Ruggie, gets inspiration from Savanaclaw rather than Heartslabyul. Yuu assists / agrees to help Jamil in his bid to escape servitude/being controlled by others/ they convince Crowley not to expel Ruggie - Jamil appreciates the sympathy, but also sees Yuu as easily manipulable. Yuu plans to figure out the right opportunity to get revenge on Ruggie

Jack feels guilty his dorm was involved / he didn't stop it / it resulted in someone getting seriously hurt. He does not understand Yuu making nice with Ruggie and Jamil after the fact, has a feeling Yuu is getting involved in something nefarious

Game is postponed after a serious injury on a student/general disarray, will resume right before winter break instead. Crowley has his own reasons

Jade / Floyd invited Yuu to Mostro Lounge, he takes them up on it

Leona overblot postponed ( also not a fan of Yuu :( but got a silent scheming partner out of it / collab with another dorm I guess )

Some interlude before book 3.

Yuu hurt on Oct 4th, begins working with Ruggie and Jamil by the 7th.

6th, 9th, 12th, 15th, 18th. Nightmares alternating between QoH and KoB. Yuu sleeping very little.

Oct 15th another housewarden meeting, Yuu misses it entirely, can't escape the nightmare

Twice a week meet with Riddle - 8th, 11th, 15th (warning about Jade / Octavinelle doubles w Jamil's), and 17th.

Once a week meet with Deuce - 9th, 16th

Writing this out to see where any gaps are / unbelievable / in need of alteration sequences. Easier to map it if it's written out vs just being blindly written / having a skeleton outline / thoughts in my head. Whimsy / self indulgence, but that is difficult for meee so. If I can make it make sense as much as possible...

Many little romances. Polyamory etc etc. Currently working with: Riddle/Yuu, Jack/Yuu/Jade, (idk if Jack/Riddle will be a thing but a crush would be easy on Jack's end at least so maybe), Jamil/Ruggie, Kalim/Neige, various OC / OC (my favorite is the mermaid / pirate witch I'm very fond of them), onesided Floyd/Riddle and Jamil/Azul hinted at (most likely the Floyd/Riddle moreso. I don't want it to be prominent, I just feel like they're both crushes/veer on that in interaction that are so constant they are canon in my heart. Slight Floyd/Azul that might become more prominent at the moment it's mostly Floyd's reactions to slights against Azul and various thing, the mostly implied love triangle between Jade/Azul and Jade/Yuu that doesn't exist and Yuu probably doesn't actually think it exists, he just has other hangups he can't figure out the cause of for a long time . It's more like 'quit your job and come work at my superior ghost-themed restaurant where you would fit perfectly and i'll let you make whatever mushroom dishes you want'

Octario became way more important than initially planned because Azul's contract triggered Yuu's trauma..

Prologue

Sep 3rd

Entrance Ceremony

-Leona, Rook, Jack, Riddle, Crowley, Grim

A young man wakes up in a coffin.

After the coffin is opened by Grim, he pretends to be asleep until Crowley comes in at Grim's complaints and takes Grim out to throw him out of the school

Crowley comes back as Yuu is searching around the room / brandishing a candelabra

He attacks, the other students show up, he starts knocking candelabras over to set the curtains on fire and try to set up a distraction to escape

Everyone is wondering what is up with this guy attacking the headmage, setting the school on fire day 0

Rook, Leona, and Jack have to go get him before he runs off the side of a cliff.

Jack most important character here probably, sees catching Yuu after he flees the entrance ceremony as a chance to make an impression on Leona. Ends up making an impression on Yuu that influences how he sees the rest of the school (Rook assigning the calm first year to try and help the panicking first year). (Bad set up for Yuu that only gets worse with Jade's betrayal of his friendship shutting down what little progress he had made in trusting others)

Leona talks to Yuu a bit... Yuu threatens to blind him with a stick if he comes too close. Leona directs the others to try and capture him while they're running after him etc etc tries yelling at Yuu to slow down while he's frantically running.. wherever. Yuu is very fast, slips from their grasp a couple times

Rook saves Yuu as he's about to fall off into the gulch, Yuu continues running until he finally stops at a large tree, he starts crying upon the realization he doesn't know where he's running or who he's looking for.

Running away, being brought back, arguing (Riddle assuming he ran to avoid punishment for breaking Queen's Rule # 1232312 that Yuu has never heard about before even what) until Crowley sends the others on their way and talks to Yuu. Probably some magical influence Yuu calming down, but the bird thing helps

Ramshackle, Grim sneaks in or is let in. Hostile meeting, but come to some sort of understanding. Yuu is moved by his dream to become a powerful mage, despite everything. He feels like maybe, lacking anything else to go off, his purpose in being there is to support Grim. And hopefully can help burn anyone who may bother Yuu

Yuu doesn't react to / ignores the ghosts and goes upstairs, then has to come back down shortly after because Grim starts screaming / trying to burn the dorm down because the ghosts are bullying him

Crowley shows up, Yuu convinces him to agree to a week trial period for Grim to prove himself after lying about Grim saving him from the ghosts while not damaging anything (Yuu shoved any of the burnt items in a closet) / coming to NRC specifically to be taught at Crowley's school. Crowley tells him he can't allow a non-student to stay at NRC and Yuu wishes Grim luck before leaving the dorm to just.. wander off into the night.

Crowley convinces him to work for him while he tries to find a way back home - calls him out on not knowing where he is / offers to let Yuu stay if he works for him like he suggested to Grim.

Yuu argues Grim is getting the better reward in that case, being allowed admission to the school if he does well, as well as the opportunity of work / lodgings (Crowley doesn't really plan to allow a monster to go to NRC), while Yuu will only be given two things ... So he requests that Crowley agree to a yet undiscovered 3rd thing at some point in the future. He's annoying and plays up Crowley's generosity / kindness to try and convince him. Crowley says he is not genie, but ultimately agrees to a point

Transition to Dark Mirror later at night despite being told not to wander. Dark Mirror has more things to say on the quality of Yuu's soul, Yuu threatens to smash it. Post Dark Mirror breakdown and then to -

Ghosts ? Probably not yet, just the 3 at Ramshackle. He's not at the point of wandering at night / avoiding sleep.

Maybe the yew tree under the moonlight before returning to the dorm. Or the lake. but he's probably more drawn to the tree considering he took his name from it

Janitor for a few weeks

Ghosts, Jade, Riddle, Ace, Deuce, Jas, Bartholomew, Noro, Richie, Sam, probably Trein in the library at some point

ghosts - hitchhiking ghosts probably, Scarlet, Daisy, Pensri, etc 2nd week

Yuu and Grim get a small tour the next day, pause at Sam's Mystery Shop when Sam calls Crowley back to talk to him. Yuu probably sees some shadows at this point -combination between Peter Pan / PatF - but no real interaction

Wake up, run, eat, clean, research, maintain Grim, avoid students

- repetitive but that's good (for Yuu, not Grim) because it's mind-numbing and Yuu can throw himself into just cleaning / attempts to focus on continuous motions while not making contact with others / avoid everyone (no point socializing/pursuing relationships when he'll be leaving and he's taking Jack's advice about keeping his wits about him around the others to heart) / keep Grim distracted with questions about his grandiose ideals/get in the way if anyone does try to talk to them (Ace) Try to follow what must? be his purpose there to help Grim start on his journey to greatness until Crowley sends him home soon

Ramshackle probably asleep - either wakes up after Jas or waits until book 3 when remodeling / other ghosts start frequenting it

Maybe runs into Jack, if at least at a distance. Does run into Jade - tries to ignore him at first but he's annoying and they cross paths often enough he just allows him to talk at him by probably the 3rd meeting

After first week turns to 2nd week, starts to feel antsy and gets into a fight when students break into Ramshackle / break things even more since he's 'got to clean it' until he snaps, Jas panics at the sight of his own blood (Hook)

Probably called into Crowley's office, unsure if he would have already been frequenting it to ask questions or if he hides in the library by himself - magical books are difficult / magical items in general that are not haunted are difficult.

Subconsciously tries to get closer to Crowley, feels more at ease around him as an authority figure / adult bird, is convincing himself to trust him in order to try and soothe his anxieties about being trapped somewhere he doesn't understand. Wants to believe he will help him / he will soon go back home / thing will make sense if he doesn't lose faith

More significant prologue events here.

Just... do it. It will go one way or the other

Ace / Yuu get into a fight maybe 🤷‍♂️ then Grim fires the statue

Yuu furious at Ace for ruining Grim's difficultly maintained streak of good behavior - Grim crying now Crowley will never let him be a student. Laughter towards the possibility of Grim joining the school... so yea Yuu is probably pretty mad...

Whatever the Ace and Deuce thing in the manga is probably good - Grim already there, but introduces Deuce earlier

Chase after Ace for his part of the punishment and end up being spoken down to by Riddle - Cater and Trey in attendance but not talkative - Cater maybe. Riddle not impressed by what he has heard of Yuu's actions so far, but he's just a janitor so it's not that egregious/insulting to him, yet

Chandelier ~ ~ ~ shadows might show up here potentially. Scare Grim into flailing around / breaking the chandelier before Deuce has a chance to throw anyone..

~ monster fight. Yuu is mad at Ace and might just suggest they sacrifice him to the monster and steal the stone while it's distracted. 3/4 agree Ace sucks so why not ? But Ace won't be bait, hardly makes sense for a magical person to do it and besides, Yuu is speedy!

Yuu... might end up separated from Ace, Deuce, and Grim and end up making contact with the monster but exact details are blurry. Probably like... rocks collapse and Ace, Deuce, and Grim have to dig Yuu out. 'Monster taken out', Yuu got the magestone yaaay

Wow, Crowley is so impressed, good job!

Admission to the school of kids Yuu has been trying to avoid is not what he requested for his 3rd thing! He would much rather self-study if he's meant to be a student, but Crowley says he has to attend classes

Somewhere around here Yuu agrees to join the Mountain Lovers Club. Maybe one of his first actions as a student - he did not really want to be a student, but it is the only way Grim is permitted. Jade will be happy, at least. Yuu was probably unofficially part of the club before since he was a janitor and could not attend as a student. They're breaking the 'Grim and Yuu have to attend the same club' rule but Grim will get what he wants in book 3, sooo his indecisiveness is fine. If Yuu is going to be out roaming the island, he may as well benefit from Jade's survival / plant / nature experience at the same time. Two birds

Spends most free time studying/researching/exploring in some capacity

Mushroom issue because it looked yummy. Yuu is immune to poison, though, out here eating oleander. Meets Floyd and Azul, but he probably won't register them much

Book 1

Like.. Sep 24th, which is fine. Book 2 can still start in October and gives less time for Yuu to endear himself to anyone but teachers who would have seen him studying in the library (minus the fighting, so he's probably still not that well regarded. At least Jade thinks he's amusing, Deuce thinks he's diligent but on a bad path / kind of like him etc)

3rd Week In. Yuu and Grim are suffering, they've missed nearly an entire month to start their student life. Yuu has been studying Twisted Wonderland in hopes some memories would surface, so maybe that's something. anyways

Similar opening, Ace and Yuu are not terribly close but he's not terribly close with anyone else in any other dorm either~ so it's still where he goes. Ace and Yuu should at least have a kind of ... brotherhood forged in battle kind of thing from the monster fight

~~~~ whatever bad mouthing that keeps the collar on Ace when Riddle had planned to take it off.

Riddle insulting Yuu and Grim, and Crowley's decision to allow them to enroll, so Yuu is subtly rude back/calls out Riddle for acting as though he would know better as a 2nd year magic student than the headmage who has been running the school for longer than Riddle has been alive.

Everything fairly light / implied ---

-Taking the altercation with Deuce and the Savanaclaw students from the novel instead, so Leona can show up and get uncomfortably close to Yuu in the interest of smelling for magic - who yanks his ears in retaliation and Ruggie has to intervene for both Deuce and Yuu

Yuu may also not know that the eggs weren't gonna hatch, so he and Deuce both seem a bit stupid to Trey (and Ace). Yuu is not particularly sad about the potentially dead chicks, but Deuce is upset and he doesn't seem like a bad person

Yuu gets a cool dagger / keeps it hidden on himself during the trip to Sam's shop. Layaway

Yuu gets very excited after they start making the tart! because he remembers things about cooking, the knowledge of blanching vs roasting chestnuts seemingly just flowing from him. He assumes this must mean his memories are at the point they will start returning, feels the lightest he has since waking up with no memories and joyously participates in making the Mont Blanc tart. Grim is very surprised considering Yuu is typically not very excited about anything, it is a nice change

---until the point that he's about to have the tart thrown away which upsets both Grim and Yuu

Yuu ends up collared for retrieving the tart before it can be tossed / insulting Riddle / refusing to unhand the tart / leaves before Riddle can demand him thrown out

Misses Chenya, too angry to stop / feeling really nauseous / having trouble breathing. He hates the collar and is having an incredibly difficult time maintaining his composure. He doesn't understand the turn of events, feels foolish for letting his guard down in such a way. The collar being such a miserable experience makes him feel he's being punished for his stupidity.

Yuu's small amount of returned memories help combat some of the anger/grief, but not entirely.

Do not learn Riddle's backstory, learn Riddle's favorite foods.

Nothing dangerous or depressing here. Riddle has a nice dinner in the interest of accepting an apology/Yuu requesting advice from an upperclassman, until Yuu and Ace start making buzzer noises at him or whatever for not following rules they made up (the list of rules is an acrostic poem insulting Riddle, makes less sense than the 810 Queen Rules, and one is in Latin), Yuu steals Ace from Heartslabyul - Ace wasn't planning on leaving Heartslabyul but the idea of a duel doesn't come up, (yet ?) and Yuu told Riddle Ace was part of Ramshackle and Ace was like ..yea sure I guess, so while he's still officially in Heartslabyul on paper, he will stay at Ramshackle. Riddle too mad to try and convince him otherwise in any way that isn't simply incoherent growling, but does have to take the collar off at this point

Yuu starts his student poaching

Grim assigns himself housewarden, Yuu can be a vice

Amusing to the other housewardens until Yuu is allowed to attend meetings (Grim is allowed, he doesn't wanna wake up early for them / thinks it's boring)

Yuu picks up a book about Queendom of Roses / the Queen's Rules because he needs to understand the rules to break them / wants to hate more effectively

Yuu starts cooking a lot, realizing his memories were triggered by food/culinary - which may be a clue to his life - and finding it a good form of expression / ties in with his research. Presumably any land in Twisted Wonderland he is from, the food will stand out that much more ?

Approaches the ghost chefs for advice / mentorship. Learns about ghost gastronomy and how it differs to the tastes of the living. Enjoys Potions class and so gets into that at some point. Tries making little potion infused candies etc etc since it's something he can actually do at the magic school. Grim grabs the little calm / concentration potion infused candies out of Yuu's hands (those were for Yuu's calm school days 🙃) without bothering to ask what Yuu made them with

Riddle overblot postponed but he's not a fan of Yuu ( -- on Sims social interaction or whatever)

Some of these are romantic, but I'm figuring out one of them more fully so I'm choosing to not go into (some are probably implicit though) it for any of them at the moment. He is a bit shallow / gay, so that influences his actions a teeeny bit. Not by a lot, but like he is looking. At the sports events etc because he loves.. sports, ya know?

Only goes up to book 5 ish because post book 6 the relationships all change.

He kind of resents him a little bit, but he also craves his approval. It is an aggravating dynamic to be in, he would prefer to not care at all. Riddle wants to make him into his mirror (and attempts to control him) and he recognizes it, while also recognizing he will never live up to it. Which hurts once he starts to care and want to believe Riddle may be right, and after Riddle takes him on as a 'project'.

He antagonizes him and at first dedicates himself to learning the Queens Rules solely so he can debate them / break them as fully as possible after Riddle collars him for attempting to steal the Mont Blanc tart rather than allow it to be trashed and openly insulting him. He manages to convince Ace, and later Deuce, to join Ramshackle (in appearance at least, there is no process for transferring to a defunct dorm) and he and Riddle fight over that a bit. Yuu is petty and Riddle is consistently a jackass to him, prompting Yuu to insult him/lord the poaching of his students over him when the opportunity arises.

Riddle is irritated by Yuu and doesn't understand Crowley's decision to allow him to stay at the school at all. He at first can sort of accept him and Grim being set up as janitors, but allowing them to enroll and attend classes like actual students is ludicrous. Yuu has delusions of grandeur acting like Ramshackle is a dorm, and it's not making it anything worth consideration to accept the most unruly strays from the real dorms, it's just getting in the way of discipline. He thinks Yuu and Grim must be astronomically lucky to have secured a place at the school, given Yuu's magicless status and their actions at the entrance ceremony.

Yuu is one more person added to the list of people his mother doesn't think are good enough to spend time with her son. Riddle thinks if he could fix them and show them all the value of following order she might allow them in his life. Yuu thinks his parents should be crushed by stones, but he can't really openly state that to Riddle.

Riddle doesn't overblot until later in the year.

Yuu sees Ace, Deuce, and Grim as more of a responsibility than a friend. He kind of wants friends, but he is at a school where the concept/label is treated like a rarity and he's not really much better at it. And he has the ghosts.

His role as their leader (Grim insists on being dorm leader, but it's only really in name, responsibility mostly falls to Yuu and he humors Grim) also makes it a dynamic he can't fully relax in. He wants to be an effective leader for them, but recognizes he is at a disadvantage. Ace just kind of went along with the 'Ace is part of Ramshackle now' thing to piss Riddle off at the time when Yuu started arguing it, but he's in it now. Officially any student originally from another dorm that might come to Ramshackle is still listed as a student of their original dorm, though. Ace is his most annoying dorm student, but he's his first one outside him and Grim, so he regards him fondly for that. And Ace is usually fun and the ghosts like him, so he's alright.

Yuu confuses him and he doesn't really understand him or why he's so standoffish or makes up things when asked about himself, but he doesn't insist on him behaving any specific way or that he follows any outlandish rules. They have chores and Yuu has certain terms, but nothing unreasonable. Their relationship is a little distant, then gets worse following book 3 immediately before Azul overblots and continuing on for a little bit. Yuu keeps himself at a distance / lives in the moment because he has no plans of staying in/planning out a future where he would ever be in Twisted Wonderland, and it shows. Also if he's being totally honest, he's kind of scary sometimes. He has a worrying lack of concern for the line between life and death. Like if he killed someone he thinks he would just shrug it off and welcome their ghost to Ramshackle

♠️ what relationship does your oc have with Deuce?

Similar to Ace, but he likes Deuce a little bit more. Deuce recognizes himself in Yuu's behavior - getting into fights / hiding weapons on himself / wandering off on his own / being considered a delinquent - and wants to help him, but it's frustrating when he's trying to work on himself / become an honor student. Appealing to his relationship with his family / what any potential mother might feel towards Yuu's social standing doesn't seem to work. He feels a bond towards him, Ace, and Grim after everything that happens with the monster in the mine, but he can't always tells if Yuu is being sincere with him and it makes him feel stupid. He tries to help Yuu by teaching him simple / basic martial arts techniques / meditative / anger management techniques and Yuu tries to help him study for tests - book-wise, at least, Yuu is a dedicated learner. He probably would be magic-wise etc if he could, though. Thinks Yuu is probably a good person despite sometimes seeming to the contrary, he thinks his respect / acknowledgment of ghosts is a sign of being an honorable person.

♣️ what relationship does your oc have with Trey?

He doesn't have many feelings towards Trey. He envies his pastry making skills, but he's a good chef in his own right, so it's mostly just wishing he was at Trey's level for some things. Ace rants to him early on that Trey should be doing more to combat Riddle's ridiculous tyrannical behavior if he doesn't agree with it, but they don't meet Chenya the same way as in canon, so they don't get to hear about his childhood friendship with Trey to know the extent.

Trey is wary of Yuu, kind of worried about the tumultuous relationship with Riddle, especially once Yuu starts seriously engaging Riddle about the rules he follows and trying to understand them.

♦️ what relationship does your oc have with Cater?

Hm. Similar to Trey as far as Riddle goes, but. Yuu and Cater are similar kinds of people in the way they avoid sharing personal details about themselves. Cater kind of recognizes that, but he's not really looking to get into it with Yuu, he just catches the similarity.

Thinks Yuu should pick his friends better, in general, but it's also a source of frustration for Riddle which makes things somewhat more difficult for him and Trey. He gives him an old phone following a catastrophe at the end of book 2. He thinks he's a little weird / eerie.

Yuu's feeling towards Cater are mostly vague appreciation towards him gifting him the old phone and other than that he doesn't really care about him much.

🦁 what relationship does your oc have with Leona?

Almost immediate dislike. Leona tries to sniff him / this lack of magic and Yuu gets startled by his personal space being invaded / someone getting near his throat and reacts by yanking Leona's ears. Ruggie has to intervene on Deuce AND Yuu's behalf - following novelization meeting unless it doesn't work for Ruggie and Yuu's interaction.

Leona might think he was amusing if he didn't have that (technically second) impression. The first impression was Yuu freaked out by the entrance ceremony and trying to run away. Annoyed by / thinks he is full of arrogance most of the time. Thinks him insulting Riddle/Azul/Vil etc is funny, but gets aggravated when he and Riddle argue in meetings. Sees him as an irritating little bird stupidly lashing out in confusion / fear and likely to hurt himself. Thinks him being constantly surrounded by ghosts is a little creepy.

🐺 what relationship does your oc have with Jack?

Jack is one of the first people to show him kindness, but it's not great. He warns him not to let weakness show because the students at the school will take notice of it. Yuu really really takes it to heart.

Yuu envies Jack's ability to be so sincere and rely on his own strength, something Yuu doesn't feel like he can do for multiple reasons. Jack sympathizes with Yuu a little bit considering his younger brother is also magicless, but he also doesn't really get why it's causing issues for Yuu. He would respect Yuu's tendency towards fights, but he thinks his methods are a little bit overboard/cowardly.

He feels guilt after Yuu gets hurt in book 2 for not saying something / his dorm being involved, but is baffled by Yuu's actions following it and thinks Yuu might be trying to sketch out a place for himself through underhanded means. Somehow he's constantly finding himself in Yuu's vicinity, which is irritating. He also runs into a similar issue as Deuce in that he can't always tell when Yuu is joking / lying about something. Yuu thinks it's endearing sometimes, when he's not feeling irritated by Jack judging his methods of survival that he alerted him to the necessity of finding in the first place

Yuu attacks Ruggie with pepper after he tries to steal the menchi katsu sandwich from Grim, Crowley uses this as an opportunity to let them avoid punishment/detention if they will investigate the attacks happening around the school. So Ruggie investigates his own crimes along with Yuu, then uses the first opportunity he gets to try and take Yuu out and frame someone else for the attacks. Riddle doesn't trust Yuu enough to want to tell him anything about what he's already had Cater find out, and Grim doesn't see any reason to investigate because he's not getting anything out of it and he's disappointed he can't be part of Magift. So just Yuu and the perpetrator looking for himself. Lol

Yuu agrees to request Ruggie not be expelled at Jamil's request, who intends to use inspiration from the Savanaclaw plan to try and get Kalim ousted. Yuu and Jamil are injured / affected most strongly by the scheme, so Crowley hears them out. The game is postponed until right before winter break following the last attack. Leona does not overblot at this time.

Ruggie and Yuu are sort of friends, and sort of not. Scheming frenemies etc etc, Yuu will revenge on his new friend if the opportunity arises.

🦑 what relationship does your oc have with Azul?

Yuu kind of hates him but he doesn't fully understand why. It comes off as seeming like he's just really upset about Jade, which is partially true but not the whole reason. He is disgusted by the contracts and endeavors to destroy Azul and his business by opening a rival restaurant. Azul doesn't really know what his fucking problem is, but since he made it personal Azul decides to also try and destroy him🤷‍♂️

This all culminates in the first actual overblot since Riddle and Leona's got rescheduled.

Azul fairly accurately guesses that Yuu wants to poach Jade from Mostro Lounge and is annoyed by Jade's unexpected upset feelings (which he denies) after Yuu reacts negatively to finding out his involvement with the contracts, quits his club, and acts like he doesn't exist. Yuu forgives/empathizes with Azul (and forgives Floyd mostly) after the overblot, but Azul is still pissed off about the contracts and is less willing to forgive, even with feeling a little guilt towards the way it ends up/the way he lashed out during his overblot. Yuu is a big mystery/does not easily share details about his personal life so octatrio is curious about what is going on and how he was able to beat them, because it's not immediately clear.

🦐 what relationship does your oc have with Floyd?

Floyd doesn't like Yuu much. He thinks the whole 'Mountain Lovers Club are fighting' thing is funny until Yuu starts using Floyd to poke at Jade. He doesn't appreciate being reduced to a prop or Yuu acting like he's better than them. Jade is stupid

Yuu dislikes Floyd in book 3 - less than he dislikes Jade - but he's a good basketball player so that's fun to watch at least. He's neutral after book 3 toward everyone involved sans Jade and tries to act civilly

Jade is his first friend, he joins Mountain Lovers Club after meeting him a few times - he wanders around in the woods etc a lot and Jade was curious to meet him already after the entrance ceremony fiasco / with him being the only nonmagical student and all. Yuu very publicly leaves the Mountain Lovers Club (joins Gargoyle Research Society) after the anemone thing. This is fine with Jade

Truthfully, he would really like if Jade worked for him. He does not trust him anymore, so he is pretty sure he would just end up having to have a ghost possess him if that were to work out, though. Yuu could make use of his pretty eerie eyes / and gentlemanly demeanor whether it was him controlling the body or not. But as much as Jade would deserve it, it would be too unpleasant. It would fit incredibly well with the haunted mansion style aesthetic he is working in, though, so it is a shame.

He also doesn't really understand the extent of why Jade's actions bothered him so much, he's honestly a little grateful for the betrayal because he views it as confirmation that he can/should just get worse because no one at the school is honest anyways, so he shouldn't feel any guilt for it. Also, ultimately being branded a naive little fool who is easily manipulated works to Yuu's benefit

Jade, like Azul, would like to know what Yuu's deal is. He doesn't get why Yuu took the contract thing so personally, it was just good for business / Mostro Lounge. If Yuu thought he was owed some sort of preferential treatment, that was his own misunderstanding. He is disappointed that Yuu left Mountain Lover Club, and he thinks Yuu's silent treatment is childish. He's also confused by Yuu showing himself seemingly capable of forgiving Azul and Floyd, but still oscillating between ignoring or obviously taking action to try and inconvenience / annoy him.

🌟 what relationship does your oc have with Kalim?

He sympathizes with Jamil almost immediately when they first meet during book 2, thinking him being made to be a poison tester etc is a horrifying life to live, and it influences how he sees Kalim. Confused by someone seemingly disliking him immediately for no reason he can discern, Kalim goes into friend-making overdrive. Yuu tries to avoid him when he can, then starts to feel guilty when he starts scheming at the end of book 2 - 3~ ish because Kalim's sudden memory issues are something he can empathize with.. Before the winter break, in any case.

Kalim honestly thought Yuu was pretty funny and it's cool that he lives with ghosts and amazing that he got a place at the school considering he's magicless, so it's disappointing that he's so cold to Kalim, but Kalim just needs to work harder because eventually they'll definitely be friends.

He's hypocritically cruel to Kalim because one of his biggest issues is someone lacking control in their situation, but he will actively work to assist Jamil in controlling / gaslighting Kalim

And then they can all work on those issues later and Neige LeBlanche is involved

🐍 what relationship does your oc have with Jamil?

Prettiest boy in school, but I won't reduce Jamil to that, so.

But like other than sympathizing with him, his initial reaction to Jamil is like 'Oh, the striking boy with long hair wants me to support him in asking Headmaster not to expel Ruggie? ...Sure, why not? Getting stabbed did not hurt nearly as much as I would have expected. I will fashion some appropriate revenge for it at a future date.'

Other than that, he enjoys speaking to him about cooking / getting his feedback.

As for Jamil, he appreciates someone seeing his struggle/feels vindicated by Yuu finding Kalim annoying. He also thinks he's naive, easily swayed, woefully lacking in self-control, and seems to have some sort of death wish? He annoys Jamil a little because he, like Kalim, does not always seek out Jamil's perspective before doing things that impact Jamil. He's ruled by a vengeful heart that makes him shortsighted.

👑 what relationship does your oc have with Vil?

Vil thinks Yuu should take better care of himself. His hair is passable, he has ruby colored eyes, and good posture. He has terrible bags under his eyes, so whatever nice color they might be doesn't really matter. His skin is pale from lack of sunlight - which is fine, but there is pallor that can be considered 'fair' / 'beautiful' and then there is the pale of 'barely surviving off 3 hours of sleep and living in shadows with the ghosts you've allowed to infest your dorm'. He should absolutely be getting more beauty sleep.

Other than having his eyes assaulted by the sight of a slovenly appearance, he doesn't think about him much unless he's spouting off some arrogance in a dorm leader meeting. He supposes it would be worse if they had to deal with Grim at the meetings, though, so there's some positive to it being Yuu. He's also not impressed by Yuu encouraging discord among the dorms by allowing any unhappy straggler to take residence in Ramshackle, but Vil can manage his own dorm and he hasn't lost any students to him.

Yuu does not like Vil. He doesn't really know why, but the initial bad feeling toward him is validated pretty quickly once Vil starts criticizing him

🍎 what relationship does your oc have with Epel?

He's cool with him, for the most part. He just avoids the apple stuff, but if Epel doesn't have an apple with him it's not too bad. However, he often does. Yuu prefers the days he's carrying onions around and doesn't smell like apple.

He deals with him mostly on account of him being around Jack.

Epel feels a little awkward around him because.. the majority of what his family's livelihood / village / his whole thing is about is apples and Yuu is like deathly allergic to them...

He thinks watching him get into fights is cool, anyways

Rook saved his life after he bolted out of the entrance ceremony and almost ran off a cliff in his panic, so he has that appreciation for him, He also respects his taste in music, at least as far as his enjoyment of Neige LeBlanche goes. Rook is a little exuberant and hard to pin, but Yuu guesses he would say he likes him.

🔥 what relationship does your oc have with Idia?

Idia pities him a little, but they do not have the best relationship. Prior to book 6 it is probably fine for the most part, he can probably relate to Yuu a little with his 'indoor/in the dark tendency' and avoidance.

Yuu similarly has no real thoughts toward him prior to book 6, then a nosedive into anger / fear. But he feels bad for him with Ortho and all...

Similar to Idia... it is still being determined. There are many ways they may get along, but it depends on how much he wants to take Idia's side more than anything

Yuu joins the Gargoyle Research Society mostly because it's presumably quiet, considering it's so small. Half his intention is to avoid a crowded club, the other half is to get a better idea of who Malleus is. So somewhat false pretenses.

Malleus likes Yuu, aside from him making Ramshackle too hectic for him to enjoy the ruins etc etc. Yuu is respectful towards him as royalty, but doesn't cower before him or go overboard kowtowing

And he joined his club and listens to him talk about gargoyles! So of course he has some fondness for him. Yuu is potentially less tech savvy than he is, which is also nice. For example, he had no idea what Drago-kun was ? So Malleus gets to like.. teach technology to someone and that's kind of a novel experience

He thinks Lilia is cool, he likes hearing from him about the things he's experience throughout his long life, but his music taste leaves a lot to be desired and he plays it a lot

He likes that Malleus seems to have a friend, he thinks it's really funny it's Yuu. He also thinks it's funny / is baffled by Malleus being more technologically knowledgeable than a human. He pities Yuu, thinks his taste in music needs broadening, and is probably just as curious about where he comes from as anyone else. The creatures surrounding Yuu are of some concern, but no one has been attacked by them

😴 what relationship does your oc have with Silver?

He thinks Silver is great. He's beautiful, kind, smart, etc etc etc. Whatever positive adjectives exist he will attribute to Silver. He can relate to the constant need to sleep... though they have different issues with it. Silver, as far as he can tell, is not plagued by night terrors

Silver is mostly neutral towards Yuu, he doesn't like if he argues with Sebek and thinks Yuu can be a bit blunt/tactless in his manner of dealing with him, which causes a bit of a headache. But other than that, he sympathizes with him. He doesn't have very strong feelings towards him other than when something big happens and Yuu is involved in some way, but they are not particularly close or distant

⚔️ what relationship does your oc have with Sebek?

Eh... He is a bit loud and Yuu doesn't like that. He doesn't like being talked down to / called a 'human' in such an obviously superior tone. He thinks if Sebek is going to insist on his superiority, he should prove himself more capable of attending to the heir of Briar Valley and let him know when things are scheduled, since he clearly struggles with that and / or doesn't get told by others. Malleus depressed in the Gargoyle Research Society club meeting because he wasn't informed of the date change of some stupid party and that in particular is not Sebek's fault, but considering how often Malleus is left out of things he would assume someone so loyal / worshipful would be more in tune with keeping him abreast of other events he is aware of / can have some influence over the information being passed on

Sebek doesn't like Yuu. He doesn't trust him, he thinks his dorm his weird, he thinks his odd positivity toward Silver is suspicious, etc etc etc. He is glad that Riddle has not insisted on him joining the Equestrian Club after lessons started with all that, but ... it's a mix. He's glad Malleus has someone else to listen to him, Yuu is an attentive listener, but he worries about what exactly Yuu may be planning / if he may be attempting to influence Malleus. The complete lack of information about Yuu / his not being forthcoming about his life / history is concerning

🐱 what relationship does your oc have with Grim?

A few different roles. Grim's not happy with taking on a vice housewarden role once Yuu decides to regard Ramshackle the same as the other dorms, I'd considered him having a kind of 'co-leader' split, but since he calls Yuu a subordinate anyways, it makes more sense he wants to be the lead and Yuu to be the vice. So, dorm with the feline monster housewarden and magicless vice housewarden.

But for their relationship, Yuu tries to humor him. Grim thinks he's a little ridiculous/paranoid. Sometimes he runs off without telling Grim where he's going, usually just sneaks off without being noticed, gets Grim distracted long enough to leave. Grim doesn't appreciate it, but Yuu likes a lot of time to himself and Yuu always gets him tuna, cooks for him or gives him the lion's share of his meals - lunch in particular, supports him in his goal of becoming the most powerful mage in Twisted Wonderland, etc.

Yuu names his restaurant after Grim, and he sees the timing of his ending up in Twisted Wonderland with Grim as a sign he must be meant to help Grim achieve his dream. He doesn't know if he can be there for the entirety of the time it will take him to meet that, but he can help him by speaking on Grim's behalf and suggesting Crowley let Grim take what would have been Yuu's place, exaggerating Grim's ability in detecting danger / cleanly using his magic to protect them (Yuu just threw all the stuff he burned up in the closet, really) and making it seem like Grim chose NRC over any of the other magical schools because Crowley is such a superior/impressive/kind headmage. So he can try to get it going, and continue to support him as well as he can while he waits for Crowley to figure out how to send him home.

Yuu gets tired of Grim sometimes and gets tired of being seen as a 1/2 student after he is enrolled. He does not really want to share things like the wishing star, and Grim's arrogant way of speaking irks him, though he keeps an unbothered appearance as long as he can. He quietly rallies against the requirement he and Grim join the same club, he feels he has to do every other thing as a student with Grim, including most of the written assignments (difficult with paws and Grim doesn't have the precision to use magic/dictation) for both of them. He wants that time to himself, and sometimes in general he will try to find the most opportune moment to leave his dorm students to watch after Grim.

🦇 what relationship does your oc have with Crowley?

'Are you my mother?' Complicated. He respects him and hopes he will send him home soon. He doesn't like hearing the other students speak badly of him and will bluntly respond to criticism.

⚗️ what relationship does your oc have with Divus?

Not much of one... Yuu is probably doing like weird potion science based on ancient ghost recipes / methods and just like.. either almost falling over into the cauldron or making weird energy drinks so I think Crewel is just kind of ... it's great you're enthusiastic, but what the fuck are you doing / how are you alive..

Yuu sees Crewel as just a kind of weird teacher. Idk he's fine, he doesn't like being called a good boy or a puppy or anything, though. He's just here to make potions, he has no interest in impressing Crewel he's just kind of the teacher for potions

📚 what relationship does your oc have with Mozus?

He likes Trein. He spends a good majority of his time reading about history in his attempt to understand / remember the world, and Trein is very knowledgeable and always has interesting historical facts to share / recommends books for things Yuu is interested in. He occasionally gives Lucius cat treats, which is very nice

Yuu is very diligent and he enjoys seeing a student with a genuine interest in the curriculum / fascinating history of Twisted Wonderland. He needs to learn to settle problems more effectively and not resort to physical violence

🏆 what relationship does your oc have with Ashton?

He's very impressed by his muscles. Yuu doesn't want to be that muscular, but he would like to be a bit stronger / tone his muscles a bit / flatten various areas of his body through physical training. That doesn't work out that well once the exhaustion starts hitting him, but he takes Vargas' egg advice and tries to eat like half a dozen eggs as often as he can

Yuu is a hardworking student and now he's just really gotta hang in there

💀 what relationship does your oc have with Sam?

Sam is very kind to him. He does not think, even with all the planning/cost analysis/menu design/using low to no cost waitstaff/uniting with two other dorms/subtly threatening Crowley's reputation etc, that he would have been able to get his restaurant without Sam's support. The shadows always speak highly of him, he seems very knowledgeable, and his shop is always full of interesting things.
