Hello everyone!

I have the honour of introducing you to one of my recent projects in virtual space: “On Self Love” As we all know, we've had a great influx of teachings related to "self-love", "treat yourself", "mental health", and other such subjects that imply living life at peace with yourself, being preached to us on social media. Now, I believe we also might be practicing a bit of that when it comes to our own characters. We create these perfect-plastic looking creatures that reflect our own standards of beauty. But where does all this get us to? Does this help us with our own self-love beyond the screen? By taking these images of my avatar I hoped to find the answers to these questions and to further explore the depth of the connection between real-life and virtual-space. Who knows, perhaps things do not run as deep as I would've hoped or imagined. Perhaps it is just a game at the end of the day, but is it really? As for the choice of the photography technique, I opted for a very raw un-edited look for the whole plastic effect. The virtual life in itself is what it is: plastic, dreams, pixels and a lot of scripts. But does this statement still hold true when there is a real human interacting with it behind a screen? Does approaching our own idea of aesthetical perfection and life standards affect us in any way after we've logged out? Does simulating self-love in virtual space help with your self-love in real-life?

2015 vs 2019 Then and now #SecondLifeChallenge

Hey guys! I just realized that I had turned 4 years old in-game a few days ago :O And what better way to commemorate than to buy yourself a pair of bento rings to take part in Then and Now #SecondLifeChallenge.

Although I joined SL for good in 2015 (old bad habits die hard), my first account was created sometime around 2012 or so I believe but I never got to understand how this darn thing worked back then. Yes, I know, mesh was a thing in 2015 but I was broke (not that I'm not anymore) so I kept hogging on groups for free gifts which were most of the time prims and system layers. Anyways, looking back to the old times I never got to realize what a huge impact SL had on my RL. Because of SL i discovered that there were other ways to create and enjoy making visual content other than drawing and video editing so I actually got very interested in advertising and graphic design in general. Fast Forward to now, I just finished my graphic design courses and I'm working on my graduation project. All these wouldn't have been possible without me engaging with the creators of SL and for that you all have my thanks.

Let's keep pushing, let's keep working and let's continue experiencing the digital fantasy together.
