"we were born to a world with dead ends."
gravity — rafayel
summary: to be betrayed in one timeline, to find out the truth in another, and now, to seek revenge in the current.
pairing: rafayel x non!mc fem!reader
cw/tw: angst? mean reader, some twists from the myths and the actual lore itself.
note: an alternate version of my backburner rafayel fic where instead of falling in love with rafayel, reader gets angry when she realizes lemuria's fall is actually because of rafayel.
word count: 2k+
non!mc reader who remembers the excruciating pain of losing her life in every single timeline where rafayel was involved.
non!mc reader who, in the current timeline and at eleven years old, starts to get flashbacks of her past lives, not knowing what they were until the memories fill each other in as she matures. the older she gets, the more refined those visions become, until she reaches the age of fifteen where a rough vision of rafayel, her beloved, gives up his heart, and lemuria for this strange yet certainly unforgettable girl. non!mc reader who, realizes that she might have died at rafayel's hands— that lemuria fell under rafayel's sacrifice and love.
non!mc reader who, at fifteen, decides to walk away from the sea and from her dearest friend who, she now knows, had betrayed their people in their past lives. she goes to land with her aunt, finding solace in her passion for acting and the dramatics. rafayel had tried to stop her, or at least, get him to accompany her yet he could never forget the underlying anger that had filtered her eyes.
"you're really leaving? but why?" rafayel asked. he wasn't sad, not exactly. perhaps just a tad bit melancholy at the thought of his truest friend walking away, leaving him all alone to face the pressure of the sands and seas all by himself.
"i can't achieve anything here." she replies, the duality of the meaning behind her words floating above rafayel's head. she can't achieve anything if she stays right where she had always been after all these years, after all these lives: right next to rafayel. she will be bound to the same ending if she stayed any longer.
they bid each other goodbye, and non!mc reader was more than ready to start a new life. perhaps, if she stayed away from rafayel, if she had stayed away from lemuria, then she cannot befall the same painful fate that she would during her previous lives.
non!mc reader who physically and internally experiences the actual pain of the lemurians' sufferings in her past lives whenever she would get a vision despite the fact that she had already stirred far far away from the sea.
talia looks at her worryingly as non!mc reader sits on the plush of the luxurious couch, her hand in her chest as she took in deep breathes— each and every inhale activating that painful tightening in her chest, the same sensation of internal stabbing.
"did you get another vision?" talia asks, her soft and delicate fingers rubbing non!mc reader's back. the girl could only nod as she takes one last deep breath before slumping her back towards the headboard of the couch.
"how much longer will i have to endure this? do you even get visions like mine too?" non!mc reader chokes out as she takes a glass of water. her aunt talia visited her on set today. it had been long since non!mc reader had decided to live above water and join the humans. she's an adult now, in her twenties, and a successful young actress at that.
"dearest, you know i don't. we've spoken about this. you're— you're different." talia says in a hesitant tone. these two have tried to figure out the root of non!mc reader's visions, how do they happen, and why they're happening in the first place. but nothing. they have nothing. the only thing they were certain about was the fact that the visions are highly implied to be true. the tales and myths about lemuria align with the visons and flashes.
"perhaps, there is a reason that you, out of everyone, has been bestowed such gift." talia comforts, a gentle pat glides over non!mc reader's shoulder blades.
she could only scoff. "this is no gift. this is a curse."
non!mc reader who falls into shock as she stumbles upon a familiar purple set of hair on a tall figure during a banquet. could it really be— "yn!" her name rolls off his tongue so softly, gently. all so familiar and nostalgic that for a second, non!mc reader forgets that the man whom her love transcended one life over another for had been the cause of her impending doom.
"rafayel?" she minds his presence. he looked a lot older than she'd last seen him. he was a lot taller, his lean figure built stronger with grown muscles, his aura being more elegant and confident. and yet, she questions whether or not he had changed. "what are you— why are you here?"
he tells her that he's settling in linkon for a while. he says that he's got a lot of business advocates and opportunities to stumble upon the city as he pursues his artist career. he then reveals to her that he too had left the sea not long after she had gone, saying something about how the sea's weight felt a little too heavy under ground.
"does it really get easier up above the water?" she throws the question out rhetorically as they find themselves in a secluded seating area of the banquet.
rafayel wasn't dumb. surely, he felt the venomous tone in her voice or the unwelcoming glare from her gaze. he wishes it would be his mind playing tricks on him but the more he stares deeply into her eyes, the more he feels as though something was not right between him and his dearest friend.
"i don't really think so." he replies to her rhetorical question.
one thing about non!mc reader is that she isn't entirely certain that her snarky remark wasn't applicable to her. over the years, she often doubts whether or not trying to escape her home was better for her.
the both of them stare at each other. one pair of eyes gazing at the other's figure filled with confusion and nostalgia. wondering where he went wrong or if he had done something wrong. the other set of eyes staring in regret, unsure of whether or not joy or anger should control her thinking as of the moment.
the silence was louder than ever, until it was interrupted with that even louder ringing in non!mc reader's ears, that stabbing pain becoming stronger— probably the strongest she's ever felt as every fiber of her being was aching.
and yet she was too stubborn to let a slither of her vulnerability and truth slip past the cracks of her facade.
"i have to go." she tries to say confidently or rather, in a more composed way as she stood up, grabbing her purse and clenching her chest with her free hand which earned her a concerned and confused gaze in rafayel's face.
"are you okay? i can take you—"
"im fine, rafayel." she insists, pushing past him as he stood up to reach her.
"it was certainly something to see you again." she coughs out a fake scoff as she takes one step forward, only for a gasp to slip past her lips when her ankles bend, cause her whole body to not only pulse in excruciating pain, but to fall.
she feels the pain take her away from consciousness, a flash of white turning into a silhouette of a younger boy, his hair the same shade of violet as rafayel's, his voice more playful, as the image of her childhood in the prosperous kingdom of lemuria in a previous life takes place in her mind for a while, but the realization did not go unnoticed.
no, it does not get easier above water. as long as gravity exists, the weight of the world will always pull you down to the ground where one must acknowledge the truth.
non!mc reader who realizes that the pain she feels whenever she gets visions started when she left the sea.
she finds herself waking up in a bed of soft silk and fluffy pillows. this wasn't her home, the ambiance was rather softer and cleaner as the sun's rays painted dawn against the windows.
"you're finally awake." she gets taken out of her trance as she turns her head to the doorway, a smiling rafayel leans against the frame of the door. "you good now? maybe next time, don't insist that you're fine when you're not."
"what?" she's confused. she's never passed out from a vision before. sure, at first the pain was unbearable, but years of endurance has built her some kind of immunity or rather, suppressants that makes the ache less painful.
"you had a really high fever last night. what's worse is that, the tides weren't even low. we don't usually get that sick but i guess you're just a bit helpless without me, yeah?" rafayel teases as he brings her a tray of food and medicine. she stares at him in awe, that buried affection for him attempting to break past the cracks, but she does not let it go.
non!mc reader starts to see clearer visions now that rafayel is back in her life. with the added age and maturity, the flashes are longer and less vague. so when the moment a full vision of what happened during the sea god's ceremony played, anger resurfaces her mind.
non!mc reader who swore to avenger herself and lemuria, her beloved land. which is why, when rafayel introduces his new bodyguard, she immediately knew that she was the sea god's bride. that rafayel's miss bodyguard had his heart. literally.
and if it was what's needed to restore lemuria, she would stop at nothing to have it in her hands.
non!mc reader who is staring as the main lead in a new linkon tv series that depicts a tale about an ancient underwater civilization called lemuria. she could only laugh hysterically at her role. was she really playing the role of the sea god's bride? the sole thing she could never be in whatever universe or timeline she was in? oh how destiny loved to mock her.
non!mc reader who asks rafayel for help, feigning vulnerability and saying that she needed his bodyguard too, saying something about her old bodyguard going away for a while, even offering to pay double what rafayel was paying her.
non!mc reader who takes this chance to let her suppressed anger over the centuries and lifetimes that have passed out. it started with complicated coffee orders to fetch then upgraded to delivering her wardrobe, only to accuse miss bodyguard of practically sullying the dress with her reckless actions. in general, just treating her like the worst. miss bodyguard could quit whenever she wanted but rafayel had asked her so persuasively to induldge in non!mc reader's request since she was one of his closest friends.
non!mc reader who gets attacked by one of her visions, the pain stronger than what she assumed was the strongest attack when she met rafayel in that banquet before. what's more severe was that she could practically feel and hear the screams in her more recent visions.
non!mc reader who is sick and tired of suffering the regrets of the past, tired of carrying the weight of a future that is clearly telling her to take responsibility. so, one day, she flat out says to rafayel to do something about lemuria. to take his heart back, to end his people's sufferings. and yet, rafayel, like in all those visions she would see and remember, only replied with the same thing: that there would be other ways.
non!mc reader who damns it all, never stopping at one ask to convince rafayel to take his heart back. every chance she could, she would try to bring it up with rafayel which results into the man questioning his bestfriend's eagerness. she wasn't usually like this. she was never this insistent. despite the rejections, non!mc reader is thankful that rafayel was asked to be an illustrator in her new project because it makes it easier for her to bother him to own up to his responsibilities.
yn lets out an exhausted sigh as she looks at herself in the mirror. this costume was ridiculous, she thinks, as she analyzes the decor of the dress— the director said it would be a close-to-accurate replica of lemurian bridal attires. her top, a delicate yet structured piece, bared her midriff, emphasizing her poise, while bands of gilded accents traced the contours of her shoulders and arms. a flowing sash, transparent like morning mist, hung from her waist, its shimmering fabric embellished with ornate patterns that mirrored ancient symbols of wisdom.
fuck, they were right. it was close to accurate. so much so that non!mc reader starts to pity herself, thinking that the only moment she would have gotten to dress up like a true lemurian bride would be in a show, a fictional, unrealistic series that depicts the story of her beloved and the other woman he had chosen and would choose in every other life.
she steps out of the dressing room, the staffs getting the scene ready as the director yelled out orders. rafayel was with his bodyguard in a corner, discussing with the other illustrators what to do or add into the scene to make it more vibrant.
"it's a wedding scene, it's supposed to be colorful." he rolls his eyes, his bodyguard chuckling in amusement at his sulking. non!mc reader wonders how the producers even got the rafayel to agree to being part of the project. initially, she would've thought that rafayel thinks they would sully the lemurian culture and tale itself and yet, here he was, ever so passionate in the intricate coloring of the set.
"honestly, these people look like they're trying to disrespect the lemurian legacy—" rafayel stops speaking as he turns around, only to be met with non!mc reader in that traditional wedding gown. she looked certainly beautiful in it, he could not deny that. in fact, it looked rather fitting on her, as if she was meant to wear it.
she was currently distracted, practicing her lines with her partner in the show so rafayel's gaze goes unnoticed.
non!mc reader who has to poorly go through a physical and actual demonstration of how the end of lemuria was met because of this stupid show that somehow, got every detail accurately correct.
the way her limbs trembled at the set, the lines, and the impending remembrance of what was to happen after the ceremonial scene in the story. her terror was so obvious that her stutter and shaking figure immediately warned the director and everyone else that something was wrong.
the recreating of the scene in a different perspective terrified her so much, the trauma of reliving that kind of pain and watching it replaying in her mind. the fear was strong enough to trigger another vision, clearer than ever.
"excuse me. i'll be back." she manages to speak, immediately running back to her dressing room to handle the pain all by herself.
non!mc reader who has never told rafayel about the visions. the only person who knew about them were talia and herself. so one could only imagine the feeling brewing in rafayel's guts when rushes to open the door of her dressing room, only to see the actual pain his yn has to go through. all alone. all by herself.
it only then hits him. this must be why she had been so insistent on taking his heart back. this must be why she had left. why she had been so distant— why she acted the way she did.
she was angry at him. albeit, she was literally hurting because of the actions, the bond, the devotion he had sacrificed and given away.
his beloved yn was suffering because of him.
in every universe, he would give his heart to his love, causing him the loss of his kingdom and his entire being. in every universe, non!mc reader has to endure the physical manifestation of the regressing feeling of neglect and abandonment from the one true person that holds her protection in his hands.
in every universe, they were always bound to be met with dead ends.

"'cause i don't feel alive 'til i'm burnin' on your backburner."
backburner — rafayel
summary: in every life, in every timeline, the god of the sea is doomed to sacrifice everything for his beloved, angering the deep sea, and causing lemuria to fall. in every timeline, the sea god's most dedicated follower cannot stop that from happening.
pairing: rafayel x (non!mc) fem!reader
cw/tw: pure angst? and blurry timeline & lore (heavily implied relation to myths and anecdotes from the game, but will have some non-canon twists of my own)
note: have i been gone for 2 years only to come back to write a gut wrenching thought i can't contain anymore about my beloved fishboy? yes.
wc: 2k+
thinking about non!mc reader who can see and remember every timeline she has ever been in. with those timelines being intertwined with lemuria and the sea god, rafayel, her beloved but not his.
non!mc reader starting in the forgotten sea timeline as a lemurian herself whose family is closely associated with the sea god, rafayel. when young, she finds herself unexplainably infatuated with an adolescent version of rafayel himself and his aura. he was just so mischievous and cheeky in a way that it made her admire his bravery and eagerness to just explore the world. she becomes close friends with him and eventually, she realizes the underlying danger she has put herself into.
"when lemurians fall in love with someone, all our senses are committed to perceive them."
at first, she found it sweet. cute even. she adored rafayel. even if she had no oath or celestial bond that bounds her to follow anything rafayel asks, she knows it deep down that she will still obey and do whatever he wants. rafayel, ever so kind, kept her near and considered her as one of the closest companions he's ever had in such a large yet lonely position as the next sea god. their bond was somehow intimate—with her keeping rafayel stable whenever the pressure of lemuria's expectations get to him and rafayel accepting her for who she is whole-heartedly. every flaw, every freckle, and every scale in her body and soul that he could see, he could understand.
but then one faithful day, years after their younger selves have formed their close friendship, a loyal group of humans who simply idolized the god of the sea set out to offer a sacrifice to rafayel. unknowingly, when their mission goes south due to a storm, this sacrifice of theirs manages to escape and unknowingly meet the sea god himself, asking if he were lemurian and for him to help her, only to get teasing from rafayel in response. then everything happens so quickly with a kiss that sets off the mark of their oath. to the girl, mc, it may seem as though she was just trying to survive since legends held tales of a lemurian's kiss blessing one with the ability of breathing underwater. yet to non!mc reader and rafayel, they knew that it was something much deeper. something binding. sooner, the sea god then chooses mc to become his 'devout follower', failing to see that there was already one who was so willing to be in that position. with that, non!mc reader realizes she's already lost rafayel, her beloved. their ever so holy tome (tome of the sea god) states the everlasting bond that the sea god has when he has chosen his devout follower—meaning, he is bound to that very person. every command and ask must never be disobeyed or rejected; otherwise, the bond breaks.
and non!mc reader's heart breaks, especially with that girl down in lemuria and the sea god's ceremony approaching where the sea god, rafayel, and his devout follower exchange vows. jealousy was an understatement. whilst all of lemuria await in excitement, she wallows in the truth that rafayel has undoubtedly chosen mc as his beloved and his bride. before the ceremony, rafayel meets non!mc reader one last time, jokingly teasing her to not worry for he won't forsake his friendship with her which only earns him a soft chuckle and a hidden pained smile. he then thanks her for all those years he stuck by her side, that he could not have gone past the challenges and hurdles of his training and his pursuits if not for her.
"you mustn't forget to bestow us your utmost protection when you ascend to a higher level of godhood." she jests, trying to make light of the situation and distract herself with some light banter than she hopes might just change his mind and choose her to become his devout follower instead.
rafayel could not promise her that. with the slight shift of his eyes, flickering a hint of guilt, non!mc reader supposes that she knew that too.
"to love you is a privilege." that i do not have. non!mc reader says to rafayel with a soft smile, her eyes calm yet hurt, somehow helpless too. she is unsure of what he plans to do but something within their conversation told her that perhaps, it would've been the last.
and it was.
outside the temple of lemuria, the civilization starts to shake and crumble. the lemurians run with panic, wondering what could have made the deep sea enraged on such a momentous occasion. as bloodshed stained the waters of the city, non!mc reader stood amidst the chaos, shutting her eyes in disappointment and regret that she could not have stopped rafayel from whatever he was planning to do. that she could not stop rafayel from giving his heart away to his beloved costing him lemuria and his most treasured friend.
non!mc reader remembering her life during the sea of golden sands timeline where she is a guide with abysswalker!rafayel. in this timeline, they strive hard to find a way to restore lemuria and when they find out that the princess of philos has what they need to achieve that, she insists on coming with rafayel to visit her, only for rafayel to refuse.
she warns rafayel that it's dangerous. that he was already caught once when he was younger. that he was lucky for the princess to be kind enough to let him go. rafayel reassures her by telling him what happened that faithful day when rafayel was gifted to the princess of philos. he told her that one day, he'll come back for her.
non!mc reader knew that rafayel would only be captured if he wanted to. meaning that he purposely wants to be caught just to see the princess. then it hits her. the princess of philos was the same girl who became the sea god's devout follower in another life. she doesn't know how or why she knows this kind of information but something in her just recognizes the emotional and literal agonizing pain of lemuria falling and her heart being torn to shreds. she then sets out a theory that she may have gained the ability to see her past lives.
non!mc reader only finds herself becoming angry when rafayel brings the princess to the sand ruins, telling her his plans of reviving their homeland, lemuria. it angers her even more when the princess mentions dreams of the strangely familiar land. that's when she confirms that the princess was indeed rafayel's devout follower. when the princess regains her past memories after the tome reveals the symbols that stated the god of the sea killing his beloved to awaken the seas, non!mc reader knows that she's lost rafayel in this lifetime again. with much love for lemuria, she tries to set rafayel back to the right track, ignoring the fact that the princess was rafayel's beloved and convincing him to just take her heart already and revive lemuria. the princess then wished to return rafayel's heart after it is revealed that in the past life, during the ceremony of the sea god, rafayel had given his heart to mc instead of the other way around. this revelation lights fury within non!mc reader due to the clouding judgement that lemuria had fallen underneath its own god's sacrifice, seeing it as an act of betrayal on rafayel's part. yet, she said nothing. she said nothing even when rafayel refuses to take the princess' heart, even resorting to erasing her memories so that she'd forget this encounter.
"you are such a paradox, rafayel." she says with underlying venom under her voice as she sits down on a dusty rock. "you wish to revive lemuria and yet you cannot make the one true sacrifice you need to do so."
"perhaps there are other ways." rafayel gently yet assertively says.
"perhaps." she responds which may seem polite and complacent enough, yet anyone with delicate ears can definitely dissect the mockery in her voice.
days later, as their crew prepares to leave, non!mc reader notices the light glow of the fishtail beacon rafayel carries with him. with amund questioning whether or not rafayel and the princess' bond was truly even broken, non!mc reader silently scoffs in irritation, especially when the princess somehow just arrives in their hideout. despite the anger she had for rafayel, her heart gets deja vu with the way the princess declares her wish to follow rafayel wherever he goes, as if swearing she'll be his devout follower in this life too.
non!mc reader who swears she will not fall for rafayel in the next timeline she falls into when rafayel manages to put her life in death's door on this universe once more.
non!mc reader in the current timeline who, after the tsunami that revealed the reappearance of lemuria southeast of linkon, leaves the sea. leaves rafayel. leaves lemuria and her mermaid form to pursue becoming an actress on land, proceeding to be one of the most popular actresses as rafayel travels around the world, becoming a well-renowned painter who took revenge for those who wronged lemuria and his people on his own, secret ways.
non!mc reader whose heart stops on a windy day, with the sun setting and the waves of linkon city's beaches were playful once she sees rafayel walking towards her with a cheerful smirk.
"it's been a while. if i didn't know better, i'd think you were avoiding me all this time." rafayel teases to which she shakes her head to ground her thoughts.
"if only i could truly avoid you." she responds with a well-practiced smile, feigning a friendly banter that long calls back to their very first timeline.
"have you been well?" at this point, rafayel invites her to walk along the shores of linkon city, catching up on the years they've been apart. she could not deny it no matter how much she tries. she was fated to always be next to rafayel.
perhaps, it was also destiny's fault that she inevitably falls for him in every one of her lives.
"i couldn't be happier." she lies. after the multiple lives she's lived, hiding her true feelings for the man, she's learned the skill of lying so swiftly as if she were actually uttering what she convinces herself was the truth. perhaps that was why she had grown to obtain a penchant for acting.
because in every universe, she has had to act as though she was not broken by the fact that she was undeniably in love with a man who was forever bounded to his beloved.
non!mc reader who foolishly accepts rafayel back into her life when he mentions that he's staying in linkon, even though something in her already knew that he was there for a reason. even though she long realized that rafayel agreed to also leave lemuria to travel the world only to search for his devout follower, his bride, his soulmate.
non!mc reader who is no longer surprised when rafayel introduces his new bodyguard, a young woman with a heart condition. she could only smile at the girl, knowing that rafayel, has once again, found her. that, once again, destiny has shoved it in her face that she was only meant to yearn for rafayel's love, forever by the sidelines.
a celebratory party was held for yn when she just reached a greater height for her acting career. she finds herself walking the shores of linkon at night in her velvet blue dress, the mermaid cut of the skirt softly brushing against the white sands. she adores the warmth of the yellow string lights within the trees and posts, engulfing herself in the solitude and respite she needed. truth be told, despite her love for her career, one of the main reasons she even pursued the thing was to distract herself from the impending doom and painful fate she was destined to go through, like in every timeline she was ever in. to be killed under her own deity's hands.
"i never took you to be such a loner." a familiar voice takes her out of her trance, eyes shifting from the whispered waves of the beach and towards rafayel.
"just thanking home, i suppose." she responds elegantly, head tilting a bit to point to the ocean.
there was an awkward silence when she turns her body away from rafayel, her back facing him as she hugs herself to give some warmth from the cold brush of the sea breeze.
"afraid to get in the water?" rafayel gently teases as he walks closer to her, arms already taking off his dark blue blazer, not even giving her a chance to react as he wraps the garment around her shoulders.
taken back, she tilts her head to look at him, eyes slightly wider than normal but not enough to show shock.
"you looked like a cold fish." rafayel points out, justifying his actions.
for a moment, she takes rafayel in once more. it's been so long that she's avoided true connection with him to lessen the pain she would have to endure in this timeline. he seemed the same. different yet the same. his purple hair softly brushing against his forehead, bringing out the multiple hues within his eyes, and the glint of different colors making up his skin under the glow of the moon.
the longer she looks at him, the more she remembers every life she had suffered because of him.
destiny is far too cruel with fate to let her fall in love with him over and over again.
destiny and fate be damned.
"i love you, rafayel." she didn't expect her voice to quiver but as soon as those words slipped past her lips, her eyes blinked with crystalline waters pooling above them, almost teasing their fall.
"i wish i didn't, but i can't help but fall for you in every life i can remember." rafayel, still taken back with what she said could only stand there.
"i don't know if you can remember but i certainly do, as if they were just memories of yesterday." biting her lips, she lets out a heavy breathe, letting the weight of centuries of pain after every timeline and every life go. "and i am most definitely tired of having to endure those lives standing by your side and keeping quiet of what i truly feel."
"i love you, rafayel, and words can not begin to describe the longing that my heart must go through just by standing next to you. i can not continue moving on from one life to another and pretend as though my heart does not beat for you. as though i am not ready to carve it out and serve it to you if that's what it took to open your eyes. it pains me, so to know that i am destined to a sad ending of being alone, without you. but perhaps, it's high time i fight against it."
non!mc reader who fails, falling in love for rafayel in this life and realizing that she will keep falling for him in every other one that may come.
"destiny had always been my biggest enemy, with you as my greatest regret."

and non!mc reader's heart breaks, especially with that girl down in lemuria and the sea god's ceremony approaching where the sea god, rafayel, and his devout follower exchange vows. jealousy was an understatement. whilst all of lemuria await in excitement, she wallows in the truth that rafayel has undoubtedly chosen mc as his beloved and his bride. before the ceremony, rafayel meets non!mc reader one last time, jokingly teasing her to not worry for he won't forsake his friendship with her which only earns him a soft chuckle and a hidden pained smile. he then thanks her for all those years he stuck by her side, that he could not have gone past the challenges and hurdles of his training and his pursuits if not for her.

Here are some bnha ending implications about the League of Villains that drive me crazy:
We don't know if Touya thought Spinner and Mr. Compress were dead too.
Tomura never knew Twice was dead.
Touya and Tomura never knew that Toga tried to shapeshift into them and cried 'cause she couldn't :(
Mr. Compress last saw the LOV while he was trying to save them / help them reach a safe place. Next thing he was told is that most of them were dead.
Even if Touya was still alive long enough for Spinner to publish his book/comic, I doubt someone read it to Touya.
Since Toga showed up as Twice in the final battle, we don't know if Giran was aware of Twice being dead previous to that occasion or if he thinks Twice died at war there.
Although Kurogiri said that Tomura's friends were waiting for him, Tomura never saw his friends again.
They don't even know Tomura considered them his friends.
They don't know that part of the reason why Tomura died is because between the offer to change and forget his friend or stay behind and keep their memories, Tomura refused to be anything else but the villain's hero.
Most of them didn't get to hear Compress revealing his identity.
Toga "died" happily to save a friend, just like Twice did for her.
The last time most of the LOV saw Tomura, he wasn't himself / was possessed by AFO.
While the LOV's job was to sacrifice their lives for Tomura, it ended up being the other way around. Tomura died in their names and they got to die however they wanted.
Touya doesn't know Toga kept his words in her heart and got to smile again <3
All of them were doomed by the narrative.
The League of Villains has by far some of the most painful or torturous deaths in the whole series.
The villains have far better healing technology 'cause they somehow managed to save Dabi from being almost completely burnt, while he was doomed to die after the bnha finale.
Being part of the LOV was the highlight of most of its members lives.
Tomura probably doesn't know how much Kurogiri saw him as his own son.
Kurogiri probably doesn't know how much Tomura loved him, despite hiding it.
Spinner was probably never told Tomura's real story, so his version of the story will be forever incomplete. Even when he's Tomura's canon best friend.
Tomura saw his family die in front of him as a kid, but he died far away from all his friends.
Touya probably thought he was the last one of them to die.
Despite being called weak all his life, Spinner has to carry the burden of being the one and only last survival of the LOV.

scaramouche is so freaking hilarious to me cause like. look at him. he's a short man with so much rage. he's famously very pretty when he's not snarling at you. he wears an ostentatious hat that can be seen from a mile away. he was 'set free' by his mom/creator for having a heart then proceeded to spend the next five centuries looking for one. he was adopted by a bunch of swordsmiths when found in the wild. he knows how to make a sword as he was taught by the best professional swordsmoths of his country. he knows how to take of babies and small children, even if they're sick. he also knows how to make a nation collapse on itself and gained a whole moniker out of it. those qualities somehow exist simultaneously. he killed the entirety of raiden gokuden but spared the descendant of the man he thought had betrayed him because even then he held love in his heart for him. he literally endured dottore's mad experiments for probably centuries. he's been to the abyss. he figured out that Teyvat's sky is fake. he straight up reached into the tree of life and erased himself so that he could reverse the fate of those he had wronged. not even vengeance. that wasn't even priority, no he wanted to save the ones he loved. when that didn't work he accepted his memories and decided to work on atonement and vengeance. at the same time. he enrolled in the akademiya – the highest educational facility in Teyvat – by getting into an argument with a bunch of researchers because he has to have the last word. he woke up in a fantasy world and scoffed at the prophecy handed to him. he saved the replica of one of Gold's most dangerous creations by saying 'you need head pats, friends and therapy'. he then proceeded to give the head pats, friendship and therapy to his baby-sized dragon friend. he wakes up everyday and chooses violence, then somehow managed to be kind anyway.
he's so funny. I love him so much.

as soon as you knew that the heroes have won the hard-fought battle, you've wasted no time to run and find bakugo just so you could tightly wrap your arms around his waist and cry against his chest.
he pretends to be disgusted by the snot that drips down your nose and voices his irritation about the onslaught of your tears that wets his costume. deep down you and bakugo know that he would have been acting the same way if it wasn't for the semblance of pride he thinks he needs to maintain in front of his peers and the adults around (no one would've fault him if he had acted like a man starved towards you)
you were there every step of the way when it came to bakugo's recovery. he was as stubborn as a mule, wanting to be in top shape as soon as possible. you've scolded him a few times to take it easy but he always reasons that being the number one hero means getting little to no rest. you just roll your eyes every time, a smile slipping into your expression when he gives you that massive grin he usually sports on his face.
one night when you and bakugo were laying cramped side by side on his hospital bed, you tried explaining the undescribable pain you felt when you saw him die on the field and later on be brought to life again with the help of the pro heroes. he listens quietly, interlocking your fingers together as he softly caresses your hand. you feel him nuzzle his face on your temple. he says nothing afterwards, allowing the comfortable silence to surround you two. you sigh shakily and close your eyes when he puts his lips on your forehead and it stays there until you begin to fall sleep.
bakugo wasn't an outright romantic but he sure has his moments. as soon as he was allowed to be outside, he took you to ua in the middle of the night, dressed in your uniforms, into the classroom where you and him met for the first time (courtesy of aizawa because bakugo kept pestering the poor guy until he agreed to help) and without missing a beat, shared an earphone with you and started playing a song.
you could faintly hear ‘iris by goo goo dolls’ in your ear, a music you've come to like upon stumbling on accident (you mentioned to him way before you guys were together how you'd kill for someone to dedicate it for you) and you were left gazing softly at bakugo as he guides your hands to wrap around his neck and effortlessly lead you around the dimly lit room, waltzing without a care about the world around you. you see him mouthing the lyrics as he stares at you with reverence and you feel your legs wobble and your lips start to shake as you fight the overwhelming emotion to cry once again in front of him.
he lightly chuckles at your reaction and leans into your space so he could envelope you with his warmth.
“i thought i wouldn't be able to see you again,”
you hear him whisper against your free ear.
“i gave it my all to come back to you.”
with his words, you allowed yourself to break down right in his arms as he lovingly whispers everything he wished to say to you.
“bakugo katsuki, you have to swear to me you'll stay with me forever or else.”
“you'll never lose me again, sweetheart. i'll be here with you no matter what, i promise.”

full offense but in this time of genocide, your comfort doesn't fucking matter. you SHOULD be uncomfortable about the fact that in various places across the globe, people and cultures are being faced with genocide.
those in palestine, sudan, congo, their lives are being ripped away and destroyed, they will never be the same. they will forever be traumatized by this, and by the face that the western world has been FUNDING their eradication. an academic year was SUSPENDED because their student population is DEAD.
YOUR TAX DOLLARS ARE FUNDING THEIR MURDERS.
sure, we can't control where our taxes go, but we CAN protest, speak up, share the stories and the images so those in power CANNOT get away with this or live this down.
people in palestine are begging us not to look away. they are begging us to share their stories, to share what's going on. to keep the anger and outrage alive because they WILL survive this, and they need all the support they can get.
and i fucking hope you can live with yourselves if you are quiet about this. it takes .5 seconds to retweet or reblog. fuck your blog aesthetic. fuck your anything aesthetic.

i wanna be yours

his eyes fluttered open at the sound of the ringing doorbell in the middle of the night. he was surprised when he saw your sad figure trembling under the rain as he opened his door. he glanced at you worryingly, then his eyes darted to the suitcase you had next to you. his lips part, eyes looking at you with pity. he knows what this meant.
"come in." he invites you, moving aside to welcome you to his home. he helps you with your luggage and then offers you something to eat or drink and his shower. you oblige to the shower and he leads you to the bathroom, telling you that he would lend you some of his clothes after and that you would find them in his room.
you gave him a sad smile as he left.
the cold breeze from his air conditioner hits your slightly wet skin as you step out of the shower. with a towel wrapped around your body, you looked around his bedroom. it was dimly lit and cold, and you could see his t-shirt that was too big on you folded neatly on his bed. you started to change into his t-shirt, drying your hair off, and just contemplating your life choices.
as you dried your hair with the towel, you could feel him walking into the room, standing behind you. his breath tickled your ear and neck as his hands wrapped themselves around you. you lower your hands, turning around to look at him. there were no words said as your lips touch his. it was soft and intimate, and somehow, painful.
the towel in your hands falls onto the floor as he deepens the kiss, making you lay down on the bed softly.
his gentle touch dominated all over your body, feather-like kisses from his ever-so-soft lips felt like a stab to your chest. it continued for a while. hips thrusting at a quick and rough pace, whimpers turning into moans. moans turning into cries.
and then he halts at the single tear that slid down your cheek.
he stopped to check on you. there he realized that, that one singular tear was the failure of trying to keep your emotions in. one tear, then another follows until it went on pouring like rain.
he hushes you, holding you close against his chest. "it's okay, it's okay."
silent cries filled the room. you looked at his eyes as they glistened under the dimly lit room. they were the only pair of eyes that could understand you in a single glance.
you cup his cheeks along with a sniffle from you. "i have to go."
he wished you didn't. he wishes it shouldn't end like this but with everything, he understood why and he respected otherwise.
"i'll see you then." a sad smile curved into his delicate lips.
slowly, hesitantly, and unfortunately, his tight embrace started to loosen and before he even knew it, you had disappeared from the dark of the night and he was left there, laying in bed, staring at the ceiling alone, hoping that one day he'll finally be yours.

broken - il dottore
summary: it was just casual sex. something to blow some steam off and somehow, you find yourself always ending up in his bed when life feels like screwing you in the ass.
pairing: il dottore/zandik x fem!reader
cw/tw: nsfw, smut, slight dumbification (if you squint), unprotected sex, pet names (he calls you baby once), fuck buddies, slight angst, fluff.
note: this is just short, it's a snippet from a fic that im trying to write. wc: 584
"honestly, is it your hobby to let someone fuck your brains out whenever an inconvenience happens?" zandik chuckles as he watches your figure sprawled out on his bed yet again. sweat covering your forehead, you're taking heavy breaths as the man continued to thrust into you. you could only moan out as you try to respond to his rhetorical question even if you could barely think straight as your mind was only plagued with the thought of his cock pounding into your sopping cunt.
"ah- 'tore." you mewled, looking up at him with a fucked-out haze. your makeup was a mess as your tears were tainted in black with your mascara rolling down your cheeks.
"aww, poor baby." he cooed with fake sympathy, one of his hands crawling down over to clit and playing with it making you moan his name even louder. "ah- ahh! zandik!" his name fell out of your soft lips like a mantra of prayers.
for a second there, he was taken out of all the lust the atmosphere around him had absorbed. has his name always sounded this beautiful?
no... it was you.
you and your melodic voice and the fact that he has you at your most vulnerable state, calling out for him. as he continued to use you, his eyes scanned your body. eyes shut as your head was thrown back in pleasure and your back arching as you held onto him for dear life while you continued to moan and call out his name. it felt like you wanted him. that you needed him.
you felt him slow down. opening your eyes, you were met with his ruby red ones shining under the dark as they stared right into your soul. he was panting, the look of lust in his eyes was gone.
"zandik? is everything okay?" your voice was hoarse and dry yet you still looked up at him and asked. he was just staring at you and before you can even ask again, you felt him quickly grab you. his rough hands caressed your cheeks as he went in for a deep kiss. it wasn't rough, it was passionate. it didn't feel like lust. no, far from it. he caressed you so carefully yet so close. you did the same as your hands wrapped around his neck. he pulls away with heavy breaths, panting as he laid his forehead onto yours and your eyes looked at each other once again.
"i love you." he said in between heavy pants. "so much."
five words. it took five words to make tears form in your eyes. you were astonished. he has never even shown any signs of affection towards you— all he ever gave you was nothing but pure spite just as you did to him.
you looked at him and saw something nobody else can take away. it was at that moment you realized that the both of you were not so different. both broken, trying to pick up the pieces and put yourselves back together. you were overwhelmed with all the emotions involved as your heart pounded so fast.
you placed your hands on both sides of his cheeks, thumbs caressing and slowly moving in a comforting way as you looked at him with so much desire and yearning.
"i love you too, zandik." you whispered before pulling him into a heated kiss. slow, passionate, and comforting. it was suffocating but the both of you didn't care. to be broken with him was better than being broken alone.
