WIP || PRSK Sketch 1: An
Finally graduated! I still have to continue studying for the NCLEX, but I have enough time to do some sketches here and there. So, if my free time, I thought to try my hand at sketching characters from my favorite rhythm game.
Attached is my Pinterest reference for this sketch.
Things I learned while sketching An:
The concept of light and shadows is quite confusing.
The selection tool is a quick and easy way to color!

WIP II: Winter Sketch
Honestly, I’m not a fan of winter. This started off as me drawing a chasm of some sort, but it ended up being a wintery scene because the US Midwest is turning me into a human ice cube and I felt inspired I guess. Nice little sketch as I learn color theory though🥶

I’ve been so busy with my last semester of nursing school that I haven’t been able to continue this study. It feels good to get back to it.

Kpop immersion doesn’t mean fluency
I tried to learn Korean quite a bit ago. It was just for a few months, and I was studying Japanese, French, and Korean simultaneously.
Specifically for Korean, I was going through lessons on HowToLearnKorean.com and trying to immerse myself through both kpop and kvariety shows. Still, because it was just for a few months and I wasn’t focusing on just Korean, I didn’t really learn a lot. I was well aware of that lol.
Well, I walked in today for my PM shift. I was given no report, so I just had to figure everything out. One of my patients called— completely normal.
So I walk in. The bed is wet. They start speaking, it’s all Korean. They speak no English. I look around, no translator in sight. The unit’s translator somehow got lost at that moment. Wonderful.
TLDR; I could understand enough where I could reply in simple English, and I could speak enough where I could tell them (in singular korean words) what to do or what was going on. It wasn’t a humbling experience perse, because I knew that I’m nowhere near fluent in Korean. It was more of a validating experience like “wow, I really don’t know Korean.”😂

Busy Bee
It’s been crazy these days. The fall season is starting up in less than a week, but preparation for the semester is as stressful as the actual semester.
Between working as a PCT, preparing things for my clinicals and classes, studying for the NCLEX, and simply living as a human being, there’s been less time for any of my hobbies and interests.
I want to make art🥹 my hand itches to create. My mind keeps creating scenarios to draw or write, but I haven’t had the time to do so. In the end, maybe this is as much creative liberty that I’ll have for this week, and it’s a suffocating thought indeed.
One more semester, and I’ll be free from the school of nursing. One more semester.
#yvealtyego#nursing student#last semester soon#can I fast forward to graduation?#burnt out before the semester even starts#I want to make art#I want to sing#I want to write#I want to live#September is gonna kill me fr

Animal Crossing Mums
Been playing this video game since it’s release and every time that I saw mums, I’d always think “hmm, that looks a lot like chrysanthemums.” Well, it’s only now that I realized, yes, mums stood for Chrysanthemums.

Learning Japanese Through Art Introduction
It's been some time since I started learning Japanese, and I certainly haven't been able to pass the N5 language exam. This idea of learning Japanese through art first came to me when I started learning Kanji through art. At that time, I started associating the kanji with images that I drew, often following the structure of the kanji letters and making a drawing off of it.
From there, I thought, "Can't I do this with Japanese, in general?" While I can't draw grammatical rules, nor can I draw sentence structures, I can draw poems, songs, etc. By doing so, I can practice drawing, continue immersing myself in Japanese, and can continue learning kanji.
Therefore, this series will include drawings based off of kanji letters, Japanese songs, haikus, Japanese stories, etc.

When I was a child, I was told that eye contact meant looking at the eyes to show that you’re paying attention. I took that to mean that I should stare at their eyes for the entire conversation.
Apparently, that’s not what you’re supposed to do💀
how do people just know what an appropriate amount of eye contact is

LHATR I: Claude Monet's "Rouelles, La Havre" (1858)

The story behind the art piece: Monet was raised in Le Havre, Normandy. Here, at an early age, he became interested in the outdoors and drawing. While his mother [a singer] supported him in his pursuit of the arts, his father [a merchant] did not. Thus, when his mother died in 1857 [he was sixteen at the time], he came to live with his aunt, Marie-Jeanne Lecadre. She [an artist herself] was one of his strongest supporters to becoming an artist, alongside Eugene Boudin, who encouraged him to develop his techniques and even introduced him to the "en plein air" [outdoor] techniques. Boudin also persuaded Monet to accompany him to Rouelles, a suburb in Le Havre, for a painting excursion. Thus, this painting was born.
Commentary: I don't have much practice with backgrounds. I haven't even watched any videos of how to create it, so this was definitely a difficult task to pursue. In the end, however, I found it surprisingly fun. I learned what kinds of brushes I had at my disposal, and how each one can be used differently. This includes numerous grass and cloud brushes that I didn't even know I had downloaded lol. It was also fun choosing what brush or color fits his painting best as if figuring out a puzzle that I was seeing for the first time.
Definitely fun! I'm excited to tackle his next piece and learn more about one of my favorite artists!

Learning The History of Art Through Recreation Introduction
In high school, I distinctly remember having field trips to the closest metropolis' art museum. Here, we could spend a few hours just roaming around and, while I was interested in art, I definitely took the opportunity for granted.
While not regrettable, because these are memories that I remember fondly, I can't help feeling bittersweet for the lost opportunity.
Now that I'm in the process of learning how to create digital art, I want to also explore the works of past artists. Classical artists, so to say. This can include paintings, sculptures, drawings, or maybe even cinematic scenes. While doing so, I want to find out the story behind each piece of art. Who painted it, why did they paint it, and what inspired them to create it? I want to explore the stories behind each brush stroke.
So, in order to explore the works of past artists and become more familiar with clip studio paint, I will be recreating historical pieces of art.

Minecraft
I haven’t played MC in a while, but I remember always playing it with creative mode. I’ve only ever cared about building monuments, so it never mattered if I used cheats; however, now that I’m trying out true survival mode, I find myself actually paying attention to the game.
It almost feels exciting, fresh. Even trying to build monuments is challenging, such that I have to pace myself. Mine first, build later. It’s so simple, literally what the game is for, but idk. Maybe I had grown bored of it before, that the instant gratification of instant block generation had made me bored. Either way, I’m loving MC again.

The Way of the Househusband Ep.2
Bwahahahaha the reactions to his smile while they were dancing was so funny!! He was so into it and his smile was so wide!
Their choreography reminded me of a workout dance I saw on YouTube tho! I was trying out the Handclap dance by Josh&Bamui when I found this one choreography that was meant to be a workout.
I like dancing because it’s a workout that doesn’t feel like a workout. It’s fun and time seems to pass faster because we focus less on the workout. Rather, our focus is more on the music or the choreography!

For the record, I don’t know if either one will lead to a specific weight loss. I just know that I was having a lot of fun dancing even when my heart felt like it would explode. It’s fun to be jumping around the place and doing specific choreography.
It also takes away the boredom that can happen with doing the same exercises regularly. Having exercise routines that we can cycle through (such as bicycling, walking on the treadmill, doing Pilates, dancing, etc. Or just doing different dance routines) can help us feeling that every exercise is fun and fresh. Also, doing different exercises makes sure that different parts of the body are being worked on.
#yvealtymusings#dancing is a lovely exercise#the way of the house husband#yvealtyego#dance workout#exercise doesn’t have to be a chore#it doesn’t have to be something to dread either#a workout should be something that we can easily add in our daily routines#otherwise it’s not sustainable#I like going on 3 hour long walks but that’s not something that I can do everyday#so treadmill walks are nice#Pilates classes are expensive so I can follow YouTube videos instead#same with dance classes. YouTube has a lot of choreographies#you should have fun when working out!#Youtube

The manga was already hilarious, and watching everything animated is an absolute belly-burster!! I can’t stop laughing even while gasping and wheezing over a treadmill lmaoooo.
