“I swear it’s not rigged,” he said from behind the counter. He had volunteered to manage one of the Midway Game Booths, and was trying to combat the skepticism that fair games always faced. “See, I’ll show you.” He picked up the ring that he had set in front of the person and threw it across the both where it landed on a bottle. He turned back to the person and raised his eyebrows to emphasize his point. “I would go out there and play with you if that makes it any better, but I don’t think that’s allowed.”
“It’s not that I’m worried it’s rigged, more like am I willing to sacrifice twenty dollars just for a really cute prize when I know I’m not the most coordination.” She said truly thinking it over slightly jealous he was able to ring one of the bottles so easily. “Too bad you can’t though, that was kind of impressive. How long have you been practicing.”

He laughed, finding her questioning humoring. “You don’t trust that I’ll bring in more than a handful of kids?” He asked, shaking his head as if he was actually appalled. “About twenty kids; all good, respecting, and that shit.” He added while looking over Dennis Coffey & The Detroit Guitar Band. He flipped the album over, studying the songs and smiled. “Let me use this album as an installment on the rest I plan to get when the kids come.” He walked back over to her, waving the album all smug and what not. “I promise you won’t regret it,” He said, sliding the record across the counter, “ And if you do, you know where I live.”
“Oh, of course not, I also wouldn’t mind if you did.” She laughed at Mateo. Twenty kids wasn’t that bad and she had plenty of things to keep them entertained. “Just gotta make sure we don’t reach capacity, ya know.” Which was true. She was pretty sure there were rules on how many people could be in a store at one time. She would have to look into that later. “Alright deal. Do you need a record player too or do already got that covered?” She had so many she would never miss the chance to possibly sell one.

“Yeah?” He asked, “I’ve never really looked at them too up close so I can’t confirm or deny,” Thankfully that hadn’t happened to him yet, and hopefully it would never. “Thankfully my son likes bugs so he always gets them out of my place for me,” Jace was still at that age where bugs were cool. “Are you serious? I figured they’d die down by now. It’s been how many years since a new album?”
“That’s cute. I was definitely that kind of kind growing.” Which was definitely true, She made her mom scream many times during her childhood because of her curiosity and fearlessness. “That would probably be ‘Let It Be’ which was like 50 years a go, but they are still going strong. It’s kind of amazing. I hope I can only be so lucky one day.”

“Really?” She asked, though it wasn’t surprising with how popular they were and records did seem to be making a come back, of sorts. “Fingers crossed you still have some in stock then.” She hoped anyway, she was low on ideas on what she could possibly get her dad. What do you get a man who has everything? “I was also thinking about getting him another record as well, not something he’d be expecting. Could you make any recommendations?”
“Oh, a present? Who are you buying for?” She got many customers who would come in just to buy a present for someone. Many buying a record for a parent who still had their old record players or a child who had gotten a record player for their birthday or Christmas. “Well, it depends on his taste in music. I would recommend The Beatles, The Beach Boys, or the Eagles if he likes Queen.”
