I love yoga, but the breathing cues sometimes drive me crazy. I mean you may as well breathe through your butthole, would work just as well!

I'm meeting my French boyfriend's family this April, so I've been trying learn more of the language. This example actually came up during an oral exercise in class this week. All the other students got to answer easy questions about paying the rent and ordering food in restaurants, and I have to explain what the fuck is going on with this sausage and cucumber??

I've generally gotten much better about not arguing with strangers on the internet. But I got into it with someone over AI art recently. This person worked in a creative field and so I thought they would support artists' concerns, but it was a total waste of time and energy. A whole day spent fuming over 3 comments.

I have *literally* never won one of these arguments. Live and learn, and resist the urge!

One of the interesting parts of dating someone from another country is explaining things you took for granted about your own culture and realizing it's kind of batshit insane. A gun for children!

Though maybe in a country like the US, where guns aren't going away anytime soon, it might actually be in the best interest to give kids fairly harmless bb guns to teach them gun safety. It's certainly how I learned to shoot. Still…A GUN FOR CHILDREN. When you say it out loud!

Sidenote: There was not a bb gun at my parents' house on this visit. This time it was a shot gun propped up by the back door. Not to scare my boyfriend, my dad just likes to have the gun available for varmints…

After being SO CAREFUL for the last 2+ years, I finally let my guard down and BAM - covid got me... Feeling pretty shitty right now, but much better thanks to paxlovid. The worst part is, I got other people sick :( I felt right into the trap of thinking the pandemic was over and didn't even think about doing the smart thing like testing before a big gathering.

It's still out there folks! Even though I'm as tired as anyone of wearing a mask, it's just got to be done. And personally, I'm going to be testing myself more often before visiting friends and family. Covid might be more manageable these days, but it's still a huge disruption. I'm just super thankful the people I gave it to seem to have relatively mild cases (though "mild" is still pretty uncomfortable).

Stay safe out there! Don't make my mistake.

Gen Z thinks the 90s were cool, but mostly it was filled with inane shit like Punch Buggy because you didn't have anything better to do in a car. Also I want to emphasize, this was the only time I ever saw my Dad yell at my Mom. But to be fair, she almost killed us all - the one time she tried to play!

Honestly, my expectations for the midterms were so low that only losing a few seats (even if it means the house or senate might flip) still felt like a pretty big win! Absurd! Democrats - our slogan should be "trying not to lose!"

But seriously, I'm very grateful to the organizers who rallied the vote, and the campaigns workers who never gave up. Consider donating to Warnock's campaign for the Georgia runoff if you want to protect abortion rights, social security, healthcare coverage, voting rights, and so so much more. The fight for the senate isn't over!
