The scent of blood filled the air, even though he knew well that, in truth, it was the smell of oil. Androids like us—every part of our bodies is designed to mimic humanity, from flesh to skin, even down to the blood we do not have.

The sound of a blade piercing through metal rang out. Crimson oil dripped, staining the ground in a deep scarlet hue. A heap of android corpses piled upon one another—each identical, as if cast from the same mold, with white hair and vacant emerald eyes.

"Thirty-four... thirty-five..."

A blond-haired android muttered under his breath. His blindfold, which should have covered his eyes, had come loose, revealing irises as blue as the sky. This was A8, and he had just lost his friend, 10S. The face of the body lying among the pile—one of many—belonged to his dearest companion.

A8.

A voice called from behind him. A voice he knew all too well.

"...No."

A8 muttered before swinging his blade, cleaving through a figure that bore the exact likeness of his "beloved friend." The body fell motionless, another lifeless replica. He gasped for air. That was the thirty-sixth one he had cut down. But he knew. He knew in his heart—it was not his friend.

Do you remember?

The voice came again, this time from his left.

"You're not him," A8 spat, his voice laced with bitterness.

He swung his sword once more, slicing through the imitation until it ceased to move.

We made a promise, didn’t we?

The voice whispered from his right.

"Shut up."

A8’s voice trembled, now filled with anger. He slashed again, bringing down yet another body. His breath was ragged. His teeth clenched so tightly they ground against each other. His oil-stained fingers gripped his sword with desperate force.

That once the war ended, we’d stay together forever— in the paradise we would build.

The voice, gentle and familiar, now echoed from every direction.

"Shut up! I told you to shut the fuck up!!!""You're not 10S, you goddamn scrap heap!!!"

A8’s scream was a mix of fury and despair. Whatever it was—whatever cruel joke was being played on him—he would not let it toy with his emotions any longer.

"No… I am 10S, after all."

A figure stepped forward. 10S stood before him, a gentle smile on his face, his hand reaching out toward his dearest friend.

A8 grasped that hand and pulled him close. A faint sob escaped his lips. The blade slashed—swift, precise.

The silver-haired android’s head separated from his body. Even without a body, his face remained serene, eyes closed as if drifting off into peaceful slumber.

A8 held 10S’s head close to his chest. His knees buckled, and he sank into the darkness.

Only the sound of his quiet sobs echoed in the emptiness.

His once sky-blue eyes were now stained crimson.

Inspred by drawing of X and Zero in Nier:Automata settings from @mmx-code-crimpphire I've saw long time ago In this settings X, Zero and Axl are Androids created by YoRHa in project YoRHa boys which the project failed later on in the story. All of outfits are inspired by FFXIV Nier:Automata collab costumes. X as 10S. (Scanner no.10) He's a supporter of A8 (Zero). (In the picture I type the wrong name because I decided to change him to scanner type .)
