Happy Pride Month!!!!🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️🩷💜💙🖤🩶🤍💜✊️

To celebrate Pride Month, here are 10 of some of my favorite Queer canon couples in no particular order!

1) Catradora from She-Ra

I can't begin to express how much I love Catradora! I've shipped them since only Season 1 was out and fell in love with their messy dynamic immediately. I was so happy when Season 5 came out, and they became officially canon lovers! I love their friends to enemies to friends to lovers' storyline. Their story started when I was figuring out my sexuality to when Season 5 came out with my full knowledge of my Queerness. It was beautiful watching these two characters realize it's ok to be loved and let themselves be loved. Seeing Adora and Catra, who were deeply traumatized by the Horde and Shadow Weaver finally at the end, find healing with each other. All they wanted was to be together, and they finally were able to be together after they went on their own journeys separately from each other. Also, I actually enjoyed Catra's redemption arc and how she at least has started on the path to heal and be a better person. She isn't perfect, but she now has Adora by her side supporting her. She is taking accountability for her actions and apologizing to the people she hurt. She is working on her anger, and seeing her take small steps to heal herself is beautiful to witness. It's powerful to see people who were child abuse survivors have the chance to find love and start to heal in a loving and safe environment. Their love and relationship is the main part of the show! Love them!❤️

2) Hualian from Heaven Official's Blessing/TGCF

Hualian is just sooooo sweet and loving! Their past together and apart from each other is sooo tragic! Hua Cheng and Xie Lian both go through so much pain and suffering to eventually find each other again 800 years later. Hua Cheng is so devoted to Xie Lian. He is Xie Lian's one true believer! Xie Lian is his God! He has seen all sides to Xie Lian and still wants the best for Xie Lian. Both of them are so traumatized from what both went through and have clear PTSD. Both are so protective of each other! They are a fantastic battle couple! I love how Hua Cheng wants to give the world to Xie Lian, but he respects Xie Lian's choices at the same time (only times he doesn't is when he thinks Xie Lian is about to hurt himself especially with a sword). I love that they are married in canon and can't stop kissing each other. Hua Cheng literally gives spiritual energy to Xie Lian by kissing him! They are that affectionate loving couple! Read Heaven Official's Blessing!! It's sooooo good beyond the romance between these two! Everyone is compelling as characters with an amazing plot, a terrifying/compelling villain, a fantastic protagonist in Xie Lian, complex relationships, and such nuanced themes throughout the novel. Read it and watch the Donghua! It's worth it! Read it for Hualian! Their growth as a couple and their shared histories together is sooo fascinating to read! ❤️

3) Lumity from The Owl House

Ah, Lumity, a ship I hadn't expected to become canon when I first started watching The Owl House during the time Season 1 was still airing. I shipped them before the Grom episode. I will never forget everything around the Grom episode before it came out and how I was in shock after I finished watching that episode. I couldn't believe that we were actually getting a canon main Sapphic couple in a Disney show! These two are sooo cute! Both Amity and Luz push each other to be better! Luz became a light in Amity's life, where before all Amity had was her parent's abuse and no good close friends. I love how they actually communicate with each other! I love how they are rivals to friends to lovers ship. Luz pushes Amity to do better and be a better person to others (especially Willow). Amity pushes Luz to communicate to her about what is going on with her (Reaching Out Episode and Follies at the Coven Day Parade). Both Luz and Amity heal and support each other. They are such a healthy couple, and it's soo amazing to see a canon Bi main character in Luz Noceda! Luz Noceda is one of my absolute favorite characters as a canon Neurodivergent Bisexual main character. Luz's journey throughout the show is powerful and hits hard! Anyways, Lumity is an amazing ship, and they are such a precious Sapphic couple!

4) Nomanita from Sense8

These two are couple goals! Nomi and Amanita both fight for and support each other throughout the show. Like Amanita is best girlfriend and best wife! She does so much to keep Nomi safe! Both don't give up on each other! Nomi's whole storyline about being a Lesbian Trans woman is sooo heartbreaking for everything she goes through, but how beautiful it is that she did find happiness eventually with Amanita and her found family, including her cluster that she is a part of. Nomi is actually played by a real Trans woman actress, Jamie Clayton. She is fantastic in this role! I love that they canonically get married in the end! They deserved it after everything they went through! They are so loving to each other, and Amanita's family is sooo amazing, too! Just love them sooo much! 😭❤️🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈

5) SasaMiya from Sasaki and Miyano

If you ever want a super candy sweet MLM couple, I highly recommend the BL Sasaki and Miyano! Oh my god, these two are soooo sweet! It's sooo cute seeing these two grow closer together and connect over BL mangas! Sasaki loves hearing Miyano ramble about his special interest in BLs and thinks he is cute when Miyano gets all animated!🥹

Seeing Miyano come to terms with his attraction to Sasaki and with the help of Sasaki, becoming more comfortable regarding his own insecurities about his own features is so adorable! I love how Sasaki gave Miyano so much time to figure out whether he wants a relationship with him or not. He doesn't pressure Miyano to make a choice, and he is such a sweet partner to Miyano. I love how this manga and anime/OVA/movie shows how not everyone immediately knows that they like the same gender. Sasaki immediately figured out he liked Miyano in the beginning. But Miyano took a bit longer to figure out his feelings. But once he did, he went all in! They are such a tooth rotting fluffy MLM couple! Love them so much! ❤️🥹

6) Wangxian from Mo Dao Zu Shi/Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation/The Untamed

Ah, the obvious Autistic/ADHD couple! Their history together and apart is soooo heartbreaking! Wei Wuxian's entire childhood/adulthood in his first life is sooo tragic! I could write a whole post on how complex and heartbreaking the Yunmeng siblings are together! How all the Yunmeng siblings were abused in different ways and how that led to the events that happened later on in the story. Wei Wuxian obviously was made the scapegoat of their family dynamic. He was constantly blamed for everything that went wrong. He dealt with physical/emotional/mental abuse from Madame Yu. He struggles with clear PTSD from everything he went through as a child and adult. Wei Wuxian constantly tries to do the right thing, and yet every time, he gets hurt when he does (Example: Wen remnants being massacred). And there is Lan Wangji, who has been in love with Wei Wuxian since they were teenagers. Seeing the man he loves gets constantly hurt, and then the love of his life is dead for 13 years! He mourned Wei Wuxian for 13 years! He immediately took the chance to be close to Wei Wuxian again after Wei Wuxian came back to life. They are such a sweet and huge PDA couple!😂😂

My god, these two are freaky in the novel!😂

They are fathers together to Lan Sizhui and just a sweet married couple! I'm glad they got married and are living happily together! Finally, Wei Wuxian has a happy life and someone who will finally protect him now! They are sooo precious! 🥹❤️

7) Raeda from The Owl House

I love these two!! I'm so happy that Raine is a canon Nonbinary character that uses they/them pronouns. Eda is such a disaster Bisexual! Their relationship is sooo complicated and yet so sweet! Seeing them become friends as kids is sooo adorable. They bonded so naturally, and both were so obvious with their crushes on each other as kids. Both are chaotic together! Eda inspires Raine to rebel against Emperor Belos. I love how they went from friends to lovers to exs to lovers. The fact that Eda pushed Raine away due to her fear of losing control of her curse and hurting Raine like she hurt her father is so heartbreaking to witness. Eda was so afraid to be vulnerable with Raine about what was going on with her that she lost them in the end. But that's what's so sweet about them meeting up again after so many years and becoming lovers together again in the end. Both Eda and Raine are finally ready to have a romantic relationship where both of them can be vulnerable together. They are so amazing! Also, it's nice to see older Queer couples get together again later on.

8) Ineffable Husband's from Good Omens

Man, I love these two in all forms of media! From the book to the show to the radio show, etc. They are such husbands and partners! They always come as a package set! They are on their own team together! They are supposed to be enemies, and yet they aren't! Crowley loves protecting Aziraphale, and Aziraphale lets him because he likes seeing Crowley happy. They knew each other before Crowley fell, and Aziraphale had a crush on him. I love how Crowley fell even harder for him. They have constant dinner dates together, and Crowley loves watching Aziraphale eat on those dates. Crowley loves following Aziraphale around, and Crowley challenges Aziraphale's point of view on heaven. Aziraphale is a bastard and Crowley loves that. Aziraphale loves how good Crowley is as a person. Both are one brain cell disasters together. Crowley is genderfluid and constantly is fluid in how they dress/present themselves. Their conflict together around Aziraphale struggling to accept that Heaven is also messed up and can't just be fixed is sooo fascinating to see. Also, Aziraphale slowly recognizes over time how he has been harmed by Heaven himself along with Crowley. The religious trauma is so real with Crowley and Aziraphale! I love how Season 2 officially made explicitly that yes, Crowley and Aziraphale are in love with each other. They were always canon before Season 2, but now no homophobes can claim that there is no evidence that they are in love. 😂

Despite all the angst at the end of Season 2 for Crowley and Aziraphale, I can't wait for their happy ending in Season 3 coming out soon! (Still fuck you Neil Gaiman! Sailing the high seas here! 🏴‍☠️). Soooo excited for their South Downs Cottage and finally being able to be together without Heaven or Hell interfering in their lives! Love these two Queer disasters!

9) Villaneve from Killing Eve

Man, these two are soooo messed up! And yet their chemistry is soooo good! Villanelle is a literal serial killer who is immediately attracted to Eve, who is a literal M16 agent who also gains an obsession over her. These two are immediately drawn to each other and eventually become romantically involved with each other. Eve is simultaneously scared and attracted to Villanelle. Eve constantly tries to understand Villanelle, and Villanelle wants her! Villanelle likes how Eve challenges her, and Eve is fascinated by how she operates as a serial killer. They are toxic, and yet they can't stop circling each other. They deeply care about each other in a messed up way. They can't stop wanting each other even to the end. Man, I hate the ending of this show, but these two are soooo good! They are fun to watch and see them do horrible stuff for and to each other. They love each other, and that's so interesting to witness!

10) Malec from Shadowhunters

I had to end the list with these two! This couple helped me come to terms with me being Bi. Magnus Bane was one of the first openly Bi characters I was introduced to when I was younger. That night, when I finally came to terms and accepted my Bisexuality, I watched so many videos with Magnus Bane and Alec Lightwood. They made me feel seen as I struggled to figure out my sexuality. Magnus Bane, as a canon Bisexual character, made me feel seen, especially as a baby Bi at the time. Magnus Bane is such a fantastic character who deeply cares about the people around him. He struggles with being vulnerable in different ways from Alec (especially around his demonic heritage side), and I love how they never give up on each other. Magnus, letting himself be loved by Alec, who loves all of Magnus, is sooo heartwarming to witness. Alec goes from being in the closet and in fear to be out as a Gay man when he met Magnus to being an openly Gay man married to Magnus while being a confident leader of the Institute. It is such amazing character development to witness! Alec coming out in an open way with Magnus even inspires other Queer people to come out at the Institute. Their growth together as a couple is sooo adorable and complicated. And yet, they keep growing and fighting together. They are a fantastic battle couple and are so supportive of each other's goals. They are also amazing fathers to two kids in the books, Max and Rafael. They inspire each other, and Magnus pushes Alec to grow to become the leader he always has been. Alec supports Magnus when he loses his powers for a bit. Their love is beautiful and so obvious throughout the show. Can't help loving them!
