GODZILLA: KAIJU EMPIRE- RODAN

Faction: Alpha Guardians

Height: estimated 295+ ft

Wingspan: 675+ ft

First recorded appearance: 1956

The pterosaur-like Rodan was discovered nesting in the caverns under the Ceboruco volcano in Mexico. Described as a fierce ruler of the skies, his massive wings and speed would bring massive hurricane-like winds. Legend says that Rodan once had a mate and offspring who were killed off in the war, engaging the beast. As such, experts have noted Rodan's behavior in the modern day as fiercely territorial, angered very easliy and acting almost self-serving in a sense.

Revered for her divine powers, Mothra is one of most powerful Earth Guardians. She was discovered on the remote Infant Island as a larva, alongside her two tiny priestesses known as the Shobijin. The islanders' legends indicate Mothra was sent by Mother Mothra herself and created in her likeness, serving as the connection between the Kaiju and all other life on Earth. As such, Mothra is noted for her distinct cordial relationship with humans, notably the Shobijin and islanders, and can be fiercely protective of them at times. Mothra is notable in that her spirit is reincarnated every century, being reborn into her own offspring each time.

Alongside the others of the Alpha Guardians faction, Godzilla defended the Earth against the forces of God Ghidorah during the Million Years War. Due to the turning tides of the war, Mother Mothra forced the Earth Guardians into an extended hibernation. According to Odo Island legend however, Godzilla held a hatred towards humans after the Million Years War, and throughout ancient times would terrorize those who angered him. Many years later, Godzilla was awakened and mutated by mankind's nuclear tests in 1954, scarring his appearance and giving him the weapon of atomic breath; he laid waste to Tokyo in anger. Godzilla was thought to have been killed therafter by the superweapon known as the Oxygen Destroyer, however he seemingly revived and reemerged many times in remote locations around the world, evading any and all capture and extermination attempts.

forgot to post this on Wednesday, it's my Godzilla day tribute for Godzillas 67th, with his self(s)! Decided to draw the 3 big incarnations of Godzilla we got in 2021, plus a little 50th tribute to Godzilla vs Hedorah

Godzilla vs. Kong poster that I painted! made 2 variants, a Japanese poster and English poster. spent a few all-nighters on this one, as I was trying to finish in time to get it printed for a show this past weekend. GVK was great fun, and I really loved the neon-lit Hong Kong scenery, so I wanted to showcase that for this poster.

Chapter 1 of my fancomic GODZILLA: KAIJU EMPIRE Plot: After a chance encounter with Godzilla, who has supposedly been dead since 1954, former US Army soldier Ken Murata is enlisted into the top-secret government faction Project G, where his mysterious connection to Godzilla is discovered.

I know it’s been a long time since I’ve posted any updates since the initial first 4 pages, but truthfully I’ve been sitting on this first chapter for a few months now, I’ve just had a lot of personal stuff, work stuff and school stuff going on keeping me from the comic. However, the recent Godzilla vs. Kong has me fired up to further craft my own Godzilla mythology, so I figured I might as well go full steam ahead! GODZILLA: KAIJU EMPIRE will be available at @godzillakaijuempire (the first 4 pages are up here as well!), on Deviantart, and I’ll be launching an Instagram for it as well.

haven't posted much all year, been busy with school, work, personal stuff, etc. So, here's a little bit of what I've been doing, mostly schoolwork here. Working on a big godzilla fan-project that sort of got lost in the shuffle of 2020, but im really excited for it, among other original stuff. Here's to a better next year ✌
